Forsaken By Love

He Lixue did not speak anymore, and Mister Jiang also remained silent. He observed her from time to time, but he was still not used to her new appearance. 

Although she was beautiful before, it was more an alluring and tempting beauty, while now she looked pure and innocent. 

She seemed weak and easy to bully, so her appearance would arouse any man's d.e.s.i.r.e to protect her. Most men at least, Mister Jiang, was not amongst them, as he was a coldblooded killer who did not care for one's gender.

The receptionist, who was driving the car, was not intentionally listening in on their conversation, but she was in the same vehicle, and could not avoid hearing what they said. 

Knowing that this He Lixue was the famous snow queen from the Organization was shocking, but she said nothing. It was not her position to care about the upper echelons of the Organization.

But she did not believe in rebirth. Instead, she was sure that He Lixue had faked her own death, and then went for cosmetic surgery to change her body and appearance, before taking over the life of a comatose person.

But while the receptionist did not believe it, Mister Jiang did not doubt her, mainly because he could see that there was no cosmetic surgery made to her face, and he had seen the corpse of her body when she died. 

Although he found it impossible to believe, he knew that it was the only reason that could be behind it, and his eyes narrowed while thinking a bit about how to make her admit her identity.

But He Lixue had already decided to admit to whom she was. If she made her teacher mad, death would be her only ending, and she was afraid that she would not reincarnate again.

They drove all through the night. They had already left the Capital City and were now driving on small roads through smaller villages, until they arrived at a very old and worn down village.

When looking at it from the outside, it did not seem special at all. He Lixue was being taken to one of the buildings, where she was led to a secret passage hidden behind a bookshelf, and then through a tunnel that went down into the ground.

He Lixue did not know much about this place's structure, but she had visited many such hideouts before. They were often built underground and were very hard to enter or leave, as there were only a few entrances and exits, and these places were heavily guarded.

Don't look at how poor the people in the village looked; all of them were trained in fighting and shooting.

He Lixue looked listless as she dragged her feet to follow Mister Jiang, but in reality, she was observing everything that was happening around her. 

Mister Jiang naturally knew of her thoughts, but he did not stop her. If she had no thoughts of escaping, he would be unsure whether or not she was the real He Lixue.

The He Lixue he knew was as stubborn as an ox, and the fact that she had not returned to the Organization after rebirth, meant that she had decided to change her life completely.

Since she had decided to change her life, she naturally no longer wished to be part of the abyss. She was going to use every chance to escape. 

But Mister Jiang was not against it. The more she struggled, the less guilty he would feel about treating her poorly. She had betrayed their Organization first; it was only natural that she was not going to enjoy the same privileges as she had before. She was no longer a member of the Organization, instead, she was a prisoner.

As they entered the underground world, He Lixue was led to a bedroom. It had a bathroom connected to it, and it was painted in dark colors. There were no windows, the only entrance or exit was the door, and after He Lixue entered, she heard it lock from the outside. 

She was not too surprised, and she did not go to check if it was locked. She checked her pockets to see if she had any kind of communication device, but everything had been removed. 

Then she looked through the room, but it was empty. It was not possible for her to find anything useful that could help her contact Lu Nanfeng.

Frowning, He Lixue entered the bathroom, but this was also empty. Apart from daily necessities, there was nothing she could use in there. 

Knowing that she was caught and could do nothing, at least for now, He Lixue laid down on the bed and sighed. She slowly fell asleep, but she did not go into a deep slumber. Instead, it was a light sleep from which could wake up at any given moment if she heard any sounds.

She dared not sleep soundly at the Organization's base. 

While He Lixue was alone in the room, Mister Jiang had placed some guards outside the room and changed the guards' patrol pattern. That way, what He Lixue had noticed earlier would be utterly useless to her now.

Mister Jiang tried calling his Master, but he found that the phone was shut off. Clearly, they were on board a plane already. 

It was clear that He Lixue meant more to Master than first guessed. To think that he had already rushed to board a plane in order to get to see her was beyond Mister Jiang's expectations. 

While He Lixue was resting, the capital, and all nearby villages were being turned upside down by Lu Nanfeng. 

He was frantic and uncomfortable. Where was his Lixue?
