Forsaken By Love

He Lixue strolled the shop casually as if she was a real tourist. She found a few items, such as a hat and a shawl, which she bought. 

After buying them, she wore them and left the shop. Her movements were not hurried, but not slow either, as she walked towards a smaller hotel. 

She knew that there had to be a welcome committee back at the Golden River Estates, so she dared not return home. 

She entered the hotel, used her ID to open a room, and paid for it with her card before entering the room, locking the door, and picking up her phone. 

She called Lu Nanfeng, but he was not answering the phone, it went straight to voicemail. Clearly, he was still on board the plane. 

She quickly left a voice message, her voice slightly somber as she said, "Nanfeng, someone is trying to capture me. The two bodyguards you hired are compromised. They attempted to kidnap me today. 

I got away, but it is impossible for me to return home, they are without a doubt waiting for me in front of Golden River Estates. I have opened a room in a hotel, but I cannot go into specifics about where or when right now.

"Call me when you can. I need some help right now."

After saying this, He Lixue lowered her body and began thinking whether or not they had been close to her phone. If the bodyguards had the chance to install a bug on her phone, but after thinking and retracing their actions, she realized that they had not. She had always kept her phone on her person, so they could not have installed a bug.

She knew that she could contact Assistant Hui, but right now, she could not trust him. It was Assistant Hui who had hired the two bodyguards, and there was clearly something wrong with them, so he might also have been compromised. How could such a critical assistant possibly mess up when doing background checks on them? 

The truth was that this was not Assistant Hui's fault. The Organization had faked all their doc.u.ments, and one needed to truly dig deep to find out that they were fake, and that things were not as one might expect. 

Since it was merely finding two bodyguards, Assistant Hui had done some routine searches, but nothing more than that. He had thought that nothing was wrong with them.

He Lixue was tired after the excitement of this morning, and she laid down on her bed and quickly fell asleep. Although she was sleeping, she never fell into a deep sleep, constantly on high vigilance. 

While she was sleeping, her phone suddenly rang, and she hurriedly picked it up.

Thinking that it was Lu Nanfeng, her drowsy, but alluring, voice sounded, "Nanfeng, how are you?" 

The man on the other end was not Lu Nanfeng but Mister Jiang. When he heard her voice, he felt a tingling in his body. Any man who heard such a sleepy voice would have a reaction, and he was no different. 

"Miss He, I am not Lu Nanfeng, but I have something important to talk with you about," his voice sounded, and He Lixue woke up in a moment. The voice was so familiar, but she could not think of where she had heard it before.

"Sorry, I cannot speak with you right now," she answered hesitatingly, as she changed the phone to be on speaker, and began checking whether or not someone was tracking her location. 

She found nothing and could not help but frown. For what purpose was this person calling her, and why did the voice sound so familiar? 

Well, no matter the reason, she dared not meet any mysterious people right now. She was almost kidnapped today if she met with someone, would she not be an idiot? 

"Miss He, I think you will be quite interested in this, as it will help you get revenge against the He family."

"I say, sir, are you a retard?" He Lixue asked with a snort as she looked at the phone. 

"I was almost kidnapped today, and then a strange man wants to meet me. You are either the one in charge of this kidnapping or connected to it. How stupid would I be if I decided to meet up with you? Wouldn't it just be sending myself to your hands? 

"I am not going to watch you sell me and help you count the money. As for what you can help me with the He family, do you really think I need someone else to help me? 

"I am a couple with Lu Nanfeng, and guessing from the ability to avoid the cameras when spying on me, you should be aware of his influence, but even so, I never asked him to avenge me. Why would I then want a stranger to do it instead? 

"Everything the He family owes me is sorted by myself. I will be the only one to destroy the He family and make them suffer."

Mister Jiang, on the other end of the phone, was stunned. He thought he could lure her out, but she seemed to be smarter than he thought. 

When she was speaking, he could almost imagine the old He Lixue in his mind. Her way of speaking was so similar!

Frowning, he could not help but clench his hands. "Miss He, I think you should come off your own free will. If you continue to upset us, we cannot guarantee that you, and your dear ones, will not be harmed."

"My dear ones?" He Lixue suddenly laughed, her pearl-like laughter stunning Mister Jiang. 

"Well then, Sir, I better tell you the truth. I am an orphan, and my family is my enemy. The only person I hold dear in my current life is Lu Nanfeng. If you had the power to move him, you would not be so cowardly as you are now."
