Forsaken By Love

The rest of the meal went without a hitch. Lu Nanfeng and He Lixue were eating together while chatting, mainly about the new security program.

Lu Nanfeng still felt that something about He Lixue was different and off. He thought that she was so different from before she went into a coma, and he could not help but feel a fear rising in his heart.

Was this a new personality that had evolved while she was unconscious? Was this personality going to vanish one day?

If she was no longer the He Lixue he knew, could he still love her?

He did not know. He just knew that losing the He Lixue in front of him would be so painful that even just thinking about it made him painful.

He Lixue started observing Lu Nanfeng since he had suddenly gotten silent, and his expression turned ugly.

She rose from her chair and went to his side. Her palm was placed on his forehead as if to measure if he had a fever, but the soft touch made Lu Nanfeng return to his senses.

Looking up, he saw the worried eyes of He Lixue, and his heart clenched. She was still his He Lixue.

His arms wrapped around her waist and dragged her closer, as he buried his face in her c.h.e.s.t, greedily inhaling her unique scent.

She could feel his breath on her c.h.e.s.t, causing her body to tremble, and her legs to grow weak.

Lu Nanfeng lifted his head and looked at He Lixue with unprecedented tenderness in his eyes.

He rose from his chair, and lowered his head, capturing He Lixue's lips with his own. Previously, he had never liked kissing, but after tasting He Lxue's lips, he could never get enough.

It was like a poison that had infiltrated his bloodstream, impossible to get out again.

He wanted so much more, but he knew that he might frighten the little girl, so instead, he vented all his frustrations through the kiss.

He Lixue felt like a small boat on a stormful sea. She felt as if she could not control her body and allowed Lu Nanfeng full access to her lips and tongue.

She felt how her body grew weak, but the strong arms around her waist held her up and pressed her against a sturdy c.h.e.s.t.

He Lixue did not know what to do, as she was being kissed senselessly. But she also liked the feeling of being kissed.

When Lu Nanfeng finally felt as if he had vented enough, he gently withdrew, finishing the kiss with a lick of her lower lip.

When he saw the crimson face, the glossed over eyes, and felt the rapidly beating heart, he felt very pleased.

This was his woman. Only he could see her looking this alluring; only he could taste the sweetness of her lips.

He Lixue was fl.u.s.tered, but she quickly pulled herself together. She gave Lu Nanfeng a small peck on his lips and said, "I need to return to the company now."

Although Lu Nanfeng was unhappy, he still nodded his head. He understood that she was serious about her job, and knew that it meant even more to her because she had made it for him.

Lu Nanfeng and He Lixue walked back to the office building. When they arrived, He Lixue thought that Lu Nanfeng would return to his car and drive home, but instead, he followed He Lixue to the IT Security Department.

"I am not comfortable with you being here alone," Lu Nanfeng said. "You are still not fully healed; I need to be here to look after you."

He Lixue felt happy when she heard that, and squeezed his hand tightly in happiness.

Lu Nanfeng saw her happiness and muttered in his heart, "I also plan on going home with you later. If I left now, wouldn't I miss a chance to sleep on your bed?"

He Lixue was unaware of Lu Nanfeng's thoughts. If she knew, she would send him home right away. Although they had shared a bed before, it did not mean that they should share one every night. Unfortunately, Lu Nanfeng had this idea.

Lu Nanfeng stood by the side, leaning against the wall as he saw He Lixue and Manager Mo rushing around, upgrading the security system.

The deployment of the new program was very swift, only took a few minutes, but the tests runs, and other various checks took a full three hours.

It was a big company, and they could not afford anything going wrong. During these three hours, He Lixue and Manager Mo were rushing back and forth, and they spent a lot of time in front of their computers.

They had already ran many tests on the security program earlier, which was why they were able to have the maintenance window last only three hours.

Manager Mo was extremely pleased with the whole thing when they finished. He had thought that they would have to work all night long to make sure that the new system did not interfere with the other programs they were, but He Lixue had solved everything in a blur.

When he wanted to do something, she had already done it. In the end, they finished early, and Lu Nanfeng dragged He Lixue out from the company without looking back as soon as Manager Mo said that they had finished.

Not knowing whether to laugh or cry, He Lixue had no other option than to follow Lu Nanfeng. She was not sure what his plans were, but before she knew it, they had arrived at Golden River Estates, and Lu Nanfeng invited himself up to her flat.

It was clear he had no intention of leaving her alone.
