Forsaken By Love

He Lixue looked at Lu Nanfeng, and her eyes turned cold and emotionless. She was like a small porcelain doll that had no emotions at all, and the man could not help but feel pity towards her.

"I was in a traffic accident three years ago," He Lixue said with a dull and emotionless voice. "My parents died in front of me, trying to block the danger for me, but even so, I was severely injured and unable to wake up."

He Lixue looked out the window, her eyes dull and lacking the spark of life that most people have.

"I have an uncle, aunt, and cousin who should allegedly be taking care of me;however, no one has visited me since I woke up." He Lixue smiled. The smile looked so lonely and fragile, that even a grown man like Lu Nanfeng felt his heart ache.

Lu Nanfeng was a cold and callous man. He was always doing everything he could for better results and gaining benefits, but when he saw the small girl, he could not help but feel uncomfortable.

"How long have you been awake?" Lu Nanfeng asked, trying to make her feel reassured, but the woman looked at him with her soulful eyes. It was as if she could look straight into the dept of his soul.

"If they had wanted to see me, they would already be here," she said, her voice low, but it was quite emotionless as if it did not matter to her.

Lu Nanfeng was stunned by her words, and he wanted to do something for her, so he changed the subject.

"You have helped me a lot by letting me hide in your ward," Lu Nanfeng said with a smile on his lips as he reached out his hand to pat her hair.

He Lixue was taken back by his strange action, but then she realized that he was treating her like a kid! It was indeed true that she was short and dainty, but she was still a woman, not a child!

"So, Mister, what are your limits for helping me?" she asked curiously.

"I have no limits," Lu Nanfeng said, and then he gave her a long glance. "Even if you want me to repay you with my body, I will begrudgingly agree."

"Who wants your body!" He Lixue could not help but blush. She had spent all her time on computers in her past life, only one friend was close to her, but she would never think of him in a romantic way. Hence she had no romantic experiences, even though she was twenty-two when she died.

"Then what do you want?" Lu Nanfeng asked with a raised eyebrow. The stunning woman in front of him was quite alluring when her face was flushed red. He could not help but feel that he, who never had any tender feelings for the fairer s.e.x, suddenly wanted to protect her.

There was nothing else than doting affection, it was as if he had picked up a small pet, and the feeling intrigued him.

"Can you get me a laptop and a cellphone?" He Lixue asked after much consideration.

She did not really want to take advantage of Lu Nanfeng, but knowing his identity, such two items would really not trouble him at all.

Also, she had some concerns about her aunt and uncle. They had always coveted the wealth that her parents controlled, so how could they possibly leave it alone when they were her guardian?

She was not surprised if they had not visited her because they were busy doing something shady.

"A laptop and a cellphone?" Lu Nanfeng had never expected that she would want two such common things, but he quickly agreed.

"I'll bring them over tomorrow," he said, as he elegantly stood up from the chair.

He looked at the petite woman and felt that she increasingly resembled a small bunny, so innocent and cute.

If He Lixue knew that he had considered her as such, she would have burst out laughing.

Lu Nanfeng ruffled her hair before he chuckled and left the ward. He Lixue was somewhat disgruntled by him messing up her hair, but when she thought about how she could get a laptop and a cellphone the following day, she accepted it.

The rest of the day was spent in rehabilitation, she was walking, and slowly making her body become much more like a normal person. Although she was currently immensely weak, she had faith that she would one day become a healthy person again.

The following day, she was like a little child waiting for Christmas. She was seated by the window, her eyes full of excitement, as she could not help but wait for Lu Nanfeng.

The times went by slowly, and even the nurses at the sanitorium were curious about her behavior.

When it turned five in the afternoon, the nurses finally understood why she had been so unsettled all day. A very handsome man appeared at the doors, visiting He Lixue. They could not help but gossip about their relationship. He even resembled that big-shot Lu Nanfeng!

When He Lixue saw Lu Nanfeng, her eyes were bright, and even brighter did they become when she noticed the laptop in his arms.

A smile grew on her lips, and she suddenly seemed so attractive that even Lu Nanfeng found himself blinded by her appearance.

After a moment of being stunned, he smiled and shook his head. How could he possibly be dazed by someone so young? She was merely twenty-two while he was twenty-eight already.

"I brought the computer and the smartphone for you," he said as he placed the two things on the table in front of her.

Her eyes sparkled with excitement, and her hands were itching to touch the items. She had missed using a computer over the last few days!
