Fate's Game [GL]

Chapter 33 - Breakdown

50 miles away from K City.

There was a white summer house surrounded by forest and sealed off of civilization, making it a peaceful and silent region.

And in one of these chambers in the house was a little girl sleeping in a big white bed.

Her complexion was ghostly white and dark eye rings were popping out under her eyes. It was an extreme contrast to the paleness of her skin and the darkness of the little patch under her eyes.

Those dark eye rings were an indication of excessive fatigue and stress.

The wound on her left cheek was covered with bandage and in her arm was an IV-Infusion dripping, to prevent another fever from breaking out and torturing the girl in her sleep.

Seeing the young girl in such a condition was a heart breaking sight. How much she must have gone through to become like this corpse-like thing.

Then the little girl on the bed stirred lightly and her eyes fluttered, indicating her awakening.

Emilié woke up and felt a stinging pain from her left cheek. And her eyes were blurry making it difficult to ascertain her surroundings.

However, the blurriness did not come from waking up, but of the tears that started to stream down.

She lifted her arm to wipe her face to clear her vision and noticed the salty liquid. She wiped and wiped but the tears did not stop.

She wiped harder, ripping off the IV-infusion in her arm roughly. But didn't feel the pain of it.

A doctor has tended on her when she was unconscious, and had to stitch her cut and give her the infusion.

But not only did she rip of the infusion but also damaged the stitches on her wound, what the salty tears dropping on it, did not help either with the stinging.

Yet, that was of no concern for Emilié. Right now the only thing she wanted was, her tears and this pain stifling her heart, to vanish.

It hurts too much, like piercing needles in her flesh.

She forgot something. Something important. Yet however much she thought, it didn't come to her mind.

She heard a door handle being pulled from her left side, and someone came in the room.

She looked up seeing Emil standing there, who looked at her perplexed and startled.

"Emilié what are you doing? You need to keep this on or your fever will come back!"

He rushed up to her side, wanting to fix the IV-infusion and clean her reopened wound, which started to bleed; before calling back the doctor for a check up.

But Emilié didn't go with all that.

She held his hand back which reached out to her. Her cloudy eyes were looking at him directly with such a hurt and insanity, that Emil felt like backing down right now.

"E-Emilié?" he stuttered, going back a step.

Seeing him come in the room worked up her brain, for the happenings of the last hours, before she fell unconscious. And brought her back in the passive stand of denial, just like 5 years ago with her past father killing her.

But this time she had to know. She had to know that everything she heard was a misunderstanding, and her mind made everything up.

"Who.." She forced herself to say with a cracked voice, from the rare use and crying.

But not only did she spoke and went out her comfort zone, she shattered her psychological barrier with it leaving herself vulnerable.

Emil still just stood tense, looking incredulously at Emilié.

He read many reports stating that Emilié has communication problems and probably suffered with autism, which her parents completely ignored and didn't give her the right treatment she deserved.

What was actually wrong, she suffered from a trauma and had no autism, but yes, she needed treatment and that was what she was denied of.

So her suddenly speaking to him made him fall out his calm state, shocking him.

But as a seasoned fighter his best asset was his flexibility and fast reflexes, so he adjusted his mind trying to comprehend what Emilié meant with 'Who'.

"Who, who?" He furrowed his brows lightly. His gentle silver eyes staring at her blue ones.

"Killed... who?" She clenched his hand hard, piercing her nails in his flesh and drawing some blood.

Her knuckles showed out with a terrifying whiteness and made her thin hand look malnourished and fragile.

"..." Emil looked blankly at her, not feeling the pain at all. His mind worked up all the possibilities it could go through.

Killed, who? Was Emilié implying, that she had understood everything Bethea and Marcus talked about. No that couldn't be!

But Emilié's next words made his denying thought falter.

"Who..did.. Beth-e-a.. kill?" She asked once more with a husky and broken voice that cracked a little.

But this time it was with such aggressiveness, that Emil almost doubted a child was in front of him.

He swallowed audibly, not noticing how shaken he himself was.

The eyes of Emilié were like she would devour him alive if he waited any longer, so subconsciously 'Claudia' slipped out his mouth, making Emilié's whole mood flip a 180°.

Her eyes grew wide, she had to disbelieve his words. She let go of his hand and shook her head hard. No, no! He has to be lying! Bethea talked bullsh*t, just like Emil in front of him!

Bethea said she killed Emil. Yet he was still here kicking and much alive, nothing of death was seen on him. So they are both liars!

Claudia would never leave her side! NEVER!

She tried to deceive herself once more, but her body was brutally honest this time.

And with her psychological barrier already broken, she couldn't swallow up this loss and had to work it up, if she still wanted to leave with her sanity in tact.

Her tears began to fall down harder, again her body shook and she began to scream.

She had a breakdown and a pretty bad one.

"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaahhh"

She screamed with every fibre of her body, not caring if her vocal cords hurted, being ripped and teared by the many years of unusedness.

Giving her unbelievable pain, combined with the emotional one she already had to work through with now.

Emil was pretty shaken up himself with the sudden change. How was she having a panic attack from one second to the other? D*mn it, can he not shut his mouth for once.

"Sera!" He yelled to the door, but his loud and powerful voice was throttled down by Emilié's shrill screaming one.

Emil tried to embrace her and calm her down but earned a kick by Emilié.

Now beeing in Emilié's grip, she used Emil as a punching bag. Biting, scratching, kicking, everything her little body could do to him; to let out all the pent up steam, from the years her mind oppressed herself with.

Sera heard the commotion and hurried in the room, to witness how Emilié in her emotional lost state was pummeling down Emil, and Emil, being in an unfortunate position of not able to retaliate; since one move of his would hurt Emilié immensely.

Sera stood there watching like an observer with a cold face, losing all the respect she had for Emil.

But she most say, Emilié deserved her kudos, for pretty much holding up to Emil's evasive moves and damaging his biggest asset, his face.

But it was enough now, Emilié was suffering.

She went to the one sided pummeling and gave the dominating party a light back chop. Being careful not to hit any vitals, which can lead to future complications.

Sera was trained from small on, to memorise the anatomy of human and knew all its weaknesses and strengths, so this was a piece of cake for her.

Emil moving away from Emilié's limp body, looked up with an awkward laugh. His face was scratched on all sides and cut a sorry sight.

'sigh' Sera let out a frustrated sigh out. She got to learn that Emil was a completely useless person, not even able to take care of a child.

She checked on Emilié and ordered the still wound l.i.c.k.i.n.g dog to call the doctor, who rushed up pretty fast to get out the room, to save some face for himself.

Through the doctor's diagnosis came out that, Emilié's vocal cords were damaged and would be difficult to heal.

She would be able to speak but her voice will have an raspy and husky undertone, which could hurt her sometimes while speaking, but that painful feeling could be soothed and healed by time.

He also had to clean and stitch up the cut on her cheek again. It ripped and the tears interrupted the healing process and might lead to a tiny visible scar on her face.

Other than that, he ordered for no more emotional distress. She should be kept away of every provoking matter and have a happy environment, to recuperate from all the stress she was exposed of.

But, even with all the hurt she had to go through with, she got out the d*mn speaking barrier, which blocked her communication skills her entire life.

This life.
