Chapter 14 - Before recording

More than half a month has passed since the mid-year ceremony. For the past half month, Lin Qin stayed home reading scripts. As he became more and more famous, more and more scripts were handed to Chu Hong.

However, the quality of the scripts varied. There were gaudy comedies and idol dramas that were catered to the market, historical dramas that pretended to be very high quality but were not sophisticated at all as they had many plot holes in them. Lin Qin often threw these scripts away with just a glance.

Yes, the scripts selected by Lin Qin and his team were very demanding, and Lin Qin's positioning was also based on his strength. Plus, he spoke with trophies to prove it. Otherwise, Lin Qin would not have taken two literary films back to back.

Moreover, Lin Qin himself loved acting very much, and he was also very dedicated. Since he entered this circle, he was determined to dedicate the best acting skills and present the best works.

When he acted, he would directly regard himself as the person in the play, forgetting everything about Lin Qin. He would design a biography specifically for his character, from birth to death, and even details of what the character likes to eat, small habits and so on would be included. He would also dedicate time to learn and experience the protagonist’s profession and living environment.

Only when he devotes himself wholeheartedly to the character and regards himself as that character would Lin Qin forget he was a patient of social fear giving him the ability to try and integrate himself into this world as someone else. This was one of the important reasons why Lin Qin enjoyed acting.

As for his fundamental reason, it was naturally because he wanted to follow the steps of the Meng Chao. Lin Qin felt happy whenever he thought of doing the same thing as Meng Chao.

There was no doubt Lin Qin’s acting method was to experience empathy. It stood to reason that once someone enters the play using this acting method, it would be difficult to come out again. It would be easy to get confused between the script and life. However, both the two major directors who had worked with Lin Qin both said a sentence with similar meaning, that was-Lin Qin was born for acting.

Why would Lin Qin be evaluated so highly?

Lin Qin could not only regard himself as a role in the script, but what was rarer was how as soon as the time came, Lin Qin could easily remove himself from the role, no longer being disturbed by the role, and separate life from the script.

This time, a total of a dozen scripts were handed over. But after reading them one by one, none of them moved his heart, so Lin Qin asked Chu Hong to refuse them.

After agreeing to him, Chu Hong did not hang up, but asked, "Are you ready?"

Lin Qin immediately realised what Chu Hong meant, so he replied, "Well, I'm ready."

"I don't think so." Chu Hong pretended to be sarcastic, saying in a mocking voice, "If you are actually ready, you should take advantage of this shooting and chase Actor Meng."

Tomorrow Lin Qin would set off to Binhai City to officially start the filming of "We Are Together", and for the next month and so, he and Meng Chao would stay together day and night.

Although Lin Qin had expected this situation at the time he received this show, when this day really came, Lin Qin was still very nervous.

So much so that when Chu Hong said he should take advantage of this opportunity to chase Actor Meng, even if he was alone at home, Lin Qin still blushed red from head to toe, and finally hung up the phone in a panic.

He...he didn't want to chase after Meng Chao Ge*. As long as he could live with Meng Chao Ge for more than a month, his life would be complete.

The next day, Lin Qin flew to Binhai City by plane.

When he arrived at the seaside villa, Meng Chao was already inside.

Pushing open the door of the villa, the first thing Lin Qin saw was Meng Chao lying on the sofa sleeping with nowhere to put his pair of long legs, looking very pitiful.

On the way, Lin Qin had heard how Meng Chao had to rush over to the location after finishing his work last night. So it was estimated he might not have slept throughout the journey making him fall asleep on the sofa.

In order not to wake Meng Chao, Lin Qin didn't even push his luggage, and walked lightly into the living room. When he saw Meng Chao’s face, Lin Qin couldn't move anymore.

He hadn't seen Meng Chao for more than half a month. Lin Qin actually missed Meng Chao very much. After his eyes fell on Meng Chao’s body, it seemed to be stuck, making him unable to move his gaze away.

The sea breeze blew in from the window, with a bit of salty smell, while the curtains floated like gauze tents, making the villa look a little hazy.

In the living room, one man was lying down while the other stood. The standing one stared at the lying one momentarily, with tenderness in his eyes, just like the sunshine outside the villa, dazzling and warm. 

Suddenly, the man lying on the sofa opened his eyes. There was no confusion in his eyes to indicate he had just woken up, but rather laziness and sexiness in them.

Caught peeking at the other, Lin Qin turned red and lowered his head quickly.

This made Meng Chao couldn't help but raise the corner of his mouth. In order not to make Lin Qin more embarrassed, he didn't pursue it, but smiled softly: "You are here."

"En." Lin Qin answered, then couldn't help asking: "Why didn't you go back to the room to sleep, Meng Chao Ge?"

Meng Chao spoke in a matter-of-fact way: "I was waiting for you."

These four soft words fell heavily on Lin Qin's heart, splashing sweet water, surging towards the limbs, warm and sweet.

However, Lin Qin didn't know how to answer, so he replied shyly: "I'll go get the luggage." Turning around, he walked towards the door in a rush, as if he had to flee in despair.

The unconsciously sultry Film Emperor Meng stared at Lin Qin's back with his chin up, smiling happily, his sleepiness completely wiped away.

The official recording will be starting tomorrow. Hence it would be easier if there was no task in the evening. However, the director still found Meng Chao and Lin Qin to tell them some precautions during the recording process.

The director told Lin Qin and Meng Chao: "Two guests will come tomorrow morning. I won't beat around the bush, you play well and entertain them, and you must definitely make the guests feel at home."

This was also a big gimmick of "We Are Together". The celebrities invited would be the guest, while the resident MC would serve as the host to entertain. Naturally, this would collide with different sparks.

The director also gave several prohibitions, "1: During the recording period, you two cannot order takeaways, and all the food for the guests must be prepared by yourself;

2: The program group has limited funds, so the expenses beyond the budget range must be solved by yourself, and of course you still can’t use your own money. Tomorrow I’ll confiscate your wallets and mobile phones; 

3: During the recording process, you can’t ask foreign aid for something you don’t have. You need to find a way to do it yourself." The director took a sip of water and continued: "That's it, and I hope in the next month and the rest, we will cooperate happily."

With a smile Lin Qin and Meng Chao replied, "Happy cooperation."

That being said, after listening to the precautions, they could already understand that the program team would play them hard.
