Everyone Is Saying That I’m Helping Others Teach Their Boyfriend

Chang Chuansi doesn’t believe him. 1 Even if she does flunk the class, there’s no way that Chu Hao would flunk the class. 

Halfway through summer break, the school released the grades and everyone went online to check their scores. After talking, Chu Hao got the best score out of everyone else. 

Chang Chuansi looked at her scores, and then stared at her phone with regret and hatred and said, “As expected, I was the only one affected by dating. ”

Her grades had gone down compared to the last upper half of the semester.  She’s unsure whether or not she would be able to compete with the others for this school year’s scholarship. 

“How about we have more dates in the library after school starts? ” Chu Hao’s handsome face on her phone screen was a bit laggy, as he smiled and said “or, once I got the scholarship money, I will hand it to you? ”

Chang Chuansi pouted, “Leave it for yourself [formal] to use, I will do my best. ”

During break, Chang Chuansi went back to B city, Chu Hao found an internship job at some famous wireless company in H City—the same city as Z University. The two are separated in two different areas, one in the north and one in the south,thus they could only video call daily.

After a couple of times, Chang Father and Chang Mother (Chuansi’s parents) naturally knew that their daughter was dating. 

　　

She’s already a college student, so it’s not a rare or strange thing that she’s dating. 

　　

“Lift your legs up,” Chang Mother swept the floor with the broom as she casually asked, “Where are they from?”

Chang Chuansi — who was laying on the sofa watching TV— obediently raised her legs, but didn’t process her mother’s words, “What ‘where are they from’?”

“Your boyfriend.” Chang Mother purposely had a ‘I don’t really care, you can just say it’ appearance. 

“Oh, W City.” Chang Chuansi continued to watch the TV while munching on an apple. “He’s an in-province student who got into Z University. He’s studying computer science. ”

“That South? 2 That’s far from our place. ” Chang Mother furrowed her eyebrows and internally subtracted 10 points. “What does his parents do?”

“His family owns a business, they have a company. ”

After hearing that, Chang Mother’s eyebrows furrowed even more. 

A Southern person, who does business, and has a company, his family background must be very good. 

　

Chang Father works at a bank, while her mom works as an elementary school teacher. They could only be considered a simple family. 

“The family background gap is a little huge. ” Chang Mother mumbled and internally subtracted another 10 points for the boy. She still thinks that for marriage, it’s best to have both family backgrounds to be similar. 

Chang Mother suddenly realized something as she looked at Chang Chuansi with suspicion, “It couldn’t be that you have taken a liking to him being rich?”

This child went to a faraway university…it couldn’t be that she got badly influenced?

　　

“How is that possible?” Chang Chuansi nearly choked,  “Mom, my real dear real mom sigh, am I that kind of person?”

“Ever since childhood, you and your dad would fall into the money, so I wouldn’t be surprised if you actually did that kind of stuff.” Chang Mother exposed her daughter without mercy. 

　　

Chang Chuansi took out her phone, flipped through her Wechat Moments 3 to find a picture, “I was obviously taking a fancy to his face alright? Look mom, his appearance is not bad right?”

　

Chang Mother took a glance and her eyebrows furrowed tighter, “This boy is too attractive. Wait, is this a picture that you posted on your moments? Did you block your dad and I from seeing your moments?”

Chang Chuansi took her phone back, dry-laughed twice, and hurriedly went back into her room.

August 10th, the clock just struck midnight, and Chang Chuansi’s phone kept ringing nonstop, messages constantly popping up. 

Today is her 20th birthday. She has great interpersonal relationships, lots of friends, thus, a lot of birthday wishes. 

“…. Mm Mm.. Hurry and go to sleep, it’s already this late. You won’t be able to wake up tomorrow. ”

Chang Chuansi nagged Chu Hao to hurry and go to sleep, and finally hung up. 

Then she individually replied to her high school classmates who she’s relatively close with, her classmates from university, the students in the same outreach department, and then she clicked into her dorm group chat titled: “Four Golden Flowers”.

Chang Chuansi smiled, as she held her phone with both hands to reply them.

She chatted with friends for a good while. It was only when it was almost 2 am that Chang Chuansi finally put down her phone to sleep. 

Due to her biological clock, Chang Chuansi woke up at little past eight o’clock the next day as usual. The first thing she did whilst half asleep was to reach out to touch the mobile phone at the head of the bed.

There’s actually a new message that she received while she was asleep. 

She clicked the little red dot on the pinned chat room that indicated an unread message, and replied to the message half-asleep. 

　　

【ch(Chu Hao)：Are you awake?】

【44：Mm, just woke up.】

Chang Chuansi’s brain isn’t completely clear yet. Whilst half-awake, Chang Chunsi replied to Chu Hao’s message. She still couldn’t open her eyes fully, and continued to click on another group chat to see the new messages. 

【ch：Just in time, I just got off the plane. I’m going to get a cab to find you. Let me know your home address. 】

Chang Chuansi looked at this new message. She looked at it twice before she was suddenly wide awake..

【44: You came to B city? ？】

【ch: Mm, I took a day off. 】

　

Chang Chuansi thought about it and ended up not sending her home address to Chu Hao, but sent him a nearby park’s address. 

　　

Then she quickly got out of bed, brushed her teeth, washed her face, and got changed. 

　

There weren’t a lot of people in the park, as it wasn’t a national holiday. Chu Hao leaned against the lotus flower carving on the statue, watching as Chang Chuansi jogged over.

　　

She wore a tender yellow flower patterned dress. The color that’s hard for anyone to be able to pull off actually made her skin look even more white and pretty.

“No rush, ” Chu Hao smiled upon seeing her face, “did I interrupt you sleeping in?”

Chang Chuansi, after regaining her breath (from running), shook her head. Seeing that his eyes were shining, her hands couldn’t help but hold onto his sleeves, “Why are you here?”

“It’s your first birthday after we got together, I don’t want to miss it.” Chu Hao leaned in closer, his breath basically blowing on her face as he whispered, “I miss you, Si Si.”

Just before there’s a sudden romantic atmosphere, Chang Chuansi extended her arm to his chest. She suddenly remembered that this garden is relatively close to her house. It would be bad if they were seen by her dad or mom or her parents’ friends. 

“I might only be able to accompany you during the day. My parents are going to celebrate my birthday with me this evening. ”Chang Chuansi felt a bit helpless in this difficult situation, “Do you want to celebrate it together this evening?”

Chu Hao shook his head, “I only asked for a day off, I need to take a plane back this evening.”　　

Hearing that, Chang Chuansi sighed in relief. Her parents didn’t really have a good impression of Chu Hao, and she doesn’t have the guts to bring him home.

She smiled again as she walked forward holding his arms, “I will take you around B city. Do you want to look at the highschool I attended…”

At the start of a new semester, all of the students have all advanced to an upper grade. Chang Chuansi is now a junior year upperclassman. 

As the weather has gotten cooler, the Student Council recruitment has also finally come to an end. New fresh blood had entered this big family. 

　

Chang Chuansi is also famous among the newcomers due to Chu Hao, the school idol on campus. 

　　

Many younger girls came to see what “Chu Hao’s girlfriend” looked like. After seeing it, their self-confidence rose, and the number of times they appeared in front of Chu Hao to show their sense of existence also rose sharply.

　　

Xu Jiu walked into the classroom with an arm around Chen Huiran and Su Yu in the other. She felt a bit aggrieved 6, “These little girls sure think too highly of themselves.”

　　

Chang Chuansi looked up at them with puzzled eyes.

　　

“We passed by a few girls who were talking about you.” Chen Huiran explained to her. “They say that you look ordinary and don’t look as good as them. How can Chu Hao like you? Blah blah blah.”

　　

“I also want to know.” Chang Chuansi lowered her head and continued to fill out the application form. Her achievements in the last academic year squeezed into the scholarship quota very dangerously.

　　

“Sisi, you are much better than them. I don’t think these pretty underclassmen would be able to get a scholarship twice in a row like you.” Su Yu praised her and changed the topic. “Remember to treat us when you get the money.”

　　

Chang Chuansi pretended to be sad and sighed, “I only got the third-class scholarship this time. I don’t have much money and you guys didn’ forget to kill 7 me.”

　　

“Don’t you still have Chu Hao’s?” Chen Huiran said with a smile, “I heard he got another first-class scholarship.”

　　

“When will the days when ‘you dig a pit for my boyfriend and I dig a pit for your boyfriend’ come to an end,” Chang Chuansi said, diverting the cannon fire. She hated iron for not becoming steel 8 “Xu Jiu and Su Yu, can’t you guys be more proactive 9? We are already juniors, half of our college life is almost over.”

Su Yu blinked, “I have a hubby, but it’s just that I’m the one who spent money on him, and not him spending money on me.”

When Chang Chuansi remembered that her “Hubby” is some current famous actor, she instantly felt speechless and choked 10, “….what you said is correct.”

　　

She quickly wrote the last line of the form and handed it to the class monitor sitting in the back row. She said to Chen Huiran and the rest, “Chu Hao asked me to see the sunset. I’ll go first.”

　　

“Eh? We came to you, especially to have dinner together.” Xu Jiu looked at her gradually fading away silhouette, “Woman who ditched friends for lust!” 11

　　

Z University has a large campus. The School of Economics is far from the School of Computer Science and School of Technology. Chang Chuansi does not need Chu Hao to pick her up. The two agreed to meet at the west gate of the school.　　

Before Chang Chuansi reached the west gate of the school, she saw Chu Hao standing at the school gate being ‘picked up’ by a girl. She stopped and watched the play like other bystanders.

“Senior 12,  I’m a freshman who has just joined the Student Council’s Student Life Department. Can I add your WeChat?” The little girlie spoke in a charming voice, and her tone was coquettish. 13 She is about Chu Hao’s shoulder, which can be called ‘the cutest height difference’. “I just entered college and don’t know anything. I have some questions I would like to ask you, senior.”

“If you have questions, ask your department head. I’m not in charge of the Student Life Department.” Chu Hao answered looking down at his phone, his fingers swiping on the keyboard, sending out a message.

Chang Chuansi just sent the message and Chu Hao raised his head, looked over at her, and walked big steps towards her. He gritted his teeth as he smiled,  “Was it wonderful? ”

“Watched a school drama. Quite amazing.” Chang Chuansi was not afraid of his darkened face  and smiled. 

Helpless against her, Chu Hao could only tightly hold her hand and drag her out. “Let’s go. The sun’s setting soon. I saw that the news said that today there’s a spring tide in Qiantang River. 14 Do you wanna see?”

“Then let’s go see it. I didn’t pay much attention to it for the past two years.”

The female underclassmen watched the lovey-dovey figures of the two people. They clenched their teeth, and turned to comment in a discussion thread on the school forum titled “Did School Hunk Chu and Chang Chuansi break up today?”.

It’s kind of like a sarcastic way of saying ” I sure believe your words” though in this case, she’s just thinking to herself that she highly doubts it. This is used as a metaphor to describe a flower/beautiful maiden who is very considerate, intelligent and beautiful. Basically a beautiful lady (Talking flower). 愤愤不平fènfènbùpíng: to feel aggrievednot really kill, but kind of like making her treat them even tho she didn’t have much. In a way like milking her dry-ish. But not really, more teasing between friends. 恨铁不成钢hèntiěbùchénggāng: literal translation is ‘to hate iron for not becoming steel’  Or to feel resentful towards somebody for failing to meet expectations and impatient to see improvement So, the raw is 你们俩能不能争气些Nǐmen liǎ néng bùnéng zhēngqì xiē which literal translation is “can you both just be more proactive/like promote yourselves (to get a boyfriend). Why do certain guys like it?I don’t understand. 钱塘江= Qiantang River that loops around Hangzhou in the Zhejiang Province. 大潮 = spring tide
