Chapter 9 - Loading Mission...105-B

Rule number one: Wear some socks, tie your hair,

and never be late on your first day at work!

Y/N's P.O.V-

The wind chimes twanged elegantly in the air as I pushed in through the glass door. The shift hadn't started then, so there was no people around, only the waiters who were busy cleaning the booths before they start to come by. I put off my shrug and proceeded towards the washroom.

Pulling the ponytail higher from its place keeping the baby hair aside from scattering on my forehead, I looked at my reflection on the mirror. Tomorrow, this place will be my workplace no more. I will meet my new workplace, meet a bunch of new people. In my new mission.

I will meet them.

'So you are…quitting today?' Liza asked, taking a pause to express her silent disappointment. I replied, 'Yes.' Shrugging deeply she said, '….Oh…okay. Fine. Good. Really good. Congratulations. I am happy for you.'

'Ahh you don't...seem so?' I squinted. 'Of course, I am!' she squinted back. 'I am happy that you didn't think to send me a notice beforehand so that I can prepare to handle your absence later on after you leave the place.'

'LISI!' I instantly hugged her from the back, 'Quitting this job doesn't mean I am firing you from my best friend position! You will always remain my bae!'

'But,' she pouted, 'I won't get to meet you that much as I can now after you quit.' 'It's not like we never meet anywhere but here! C'mon now! You will get friends with the new waiter or waitress anyways who will come in my place and maybe, best friends with them too.'

'That's not gonna happen. You will remain my love forever! By the way,' She replaced her pout flashing a huge smile in the place, 'Tell me what job it is.'

'Well, you won't believe, I got recruited as an assistant artist manager in an entertainment company.' 'Wow! Y/N-i! That's such great news!' she danced her hands, 'Which company is it?'

'It's Big Hit and the artist group is-'

'Don't tell me...'

'Uhh-'

'Don't...'

'Will ya lemme fin-'

'--B--T--S--?!!!' she shrieked putting a full stop before my incoming words, 'My good LORD!! I freaking don't believe it!!'

'DAMN, you so so lucky!!!' she ruffled my hair letting all my works to get it polished go in vain.

'Aish, calm down Liza.' I tried to put an effort to stop her excitement. 'I'm so happy for you! But-' giving a last tight hug, she said, 'As you are a staff in there now, can't you get me in to meet the boys in person? You are my best friend, after all, you know?' she made her so-workable cute face.

'Yeah, then get fired instantly for letting a saseng in?'

'Excuse me, I am not a saseng.' She snorted. I stuck my tongue out. 'Duh you're no good buddy, but okay I'll forgive you for today.'

'If you both girls are done with your hugs and squishes, get back to work already.' Haneul glared at us placing the empty tray down on the counter, 'The customers are about to starve to death.' 'Aye aye, ma'am.' Both of us did a playful salute before going back to work.

'Well as today is your farewell, you must give us a treat.' 'Huh? Does it work that way? It must be you all who should give me one.'

'We'll see.'

'What does that mean?'

'Hehe, leave it. But yes, Y/N,' She turned back at me, 'Promise me you are gonna do a good job at there and make us all proud. And the first tactic to do best, never be late on your first day.'

'I will not get late and I will do my best, madam Liza Lee.' I playfully added.

9:59 am-----

Damn, I was so late!

Hardly had I parked the motorcycle in the parking lot, my hurried legs rushed me out to the tall standing building. My heartbeat was at a fast pace, New expletives were invented by my tongue to myself with the pass of every second I was late for, too stupid to not check the message of Momo which she had sent me earlier the other night-

Be sure to show up at Big Hit by 10. I know you don't usually get late but still, leaving off a reminder.

Because yes, I am the stupidest sapiens to exist on earth. Thank you Lord for creating me.

Walking was already exhausting, as I jogged, it was far more taxing and I was getting nervous. The environment was so new, and already as late as I was, I came not enough vigilant and prepared to meet the boys and gather information about this place. I must do a good job. I will do a good job.

The elevator door opened, with me hopping in with light speed. I looked at my watch and a tiny release of sigh worked out from my lips.

'A little on timeout zone?'

'A little, yes.' I gave a small smile to the person asking, realizing that I was not the only one standing inside the elevator. A black loose hoodie hung down covering the man's upper body, while a cap slanting downwards almost shielded his whole face from sight. I stared at the door impatiently, in wait for when it will reach my respective floor.

'You know, you haven't taken off your helmet yet, probably forgot to do so.'

Oops...

'Ah gosh, I am so...' I immediately took it off and smiled sheepishly at the person, 'I didn't notice. Thanks.'

'Gwenchana. Who are you by the way? I haven't seen you here before.' The man asked and this time, I couldn't but notice the deep low range of his voice. It wasn't honey-like, it was intimidating, but it had the feature of a strong addictive agent to keep the listener hooked to what he was saying. Even enough to get me tilted from my stern place. Blinking a second to get back to my usual polished form, I thought to give a reply. He sounded so familiar...but who was he?

'Oh, I am a new recruit here.' I said. 'I see.' 'My name is Y/N by the way.' I curved a formal smile, expecting him to introduce himself in return which, however, he didn't.

'Do you work here too?' I asked, dragging the conversation further with a hope to getting along with everyone who works in here.

An indefinable smile curved on his lips, 'Me? Work here?'

'Ah, ye?' I asked. The 'cring' sound of the elevator reached my ears. signaling that we have arrived to my floor. 'Sorry, gotta go. It was nice meeting you.' I said, quickly getting out. Buzzing around for a bit, I managed to find out the meeting room at last.

'Annyeong haseyo, shall I come in?'

'Of course, we had been waiting for you. Come in.'

'Thank you.' I got in and took my seat. All eyes focused on me gave a greeting smile.

'Let's start off the meeting now.'
