Chapter 65 - Before the Trials

Kiel had nearly two weeks to adjust his body conditions to the optimal level before the trials actually began. And so he did.

Training was the only thing he did till now that was his weakness. Kiel always thought that the novel heroes we're foolish not to build up their powers first before acting. However only now did he realise that those things we're actually honing their combat instincts while we're totally dull. So he didn't focus on

So he was looking forward to this trial to gain some experience of his level. One of the major reasons why Kiel was ready to give his all in the trails.

He would be supplied his meals every day on time after which he would just train his body to help himself stay fit. He was only allocated only a minimum space for living in these few days so as to not interfere with the work of the specialists working aboard.

In these few days, Kiel checked the new features of the system after the upgrade.

~Inventory~]

"Wow, the system interface itself changed. That's totally different." previously it was just the status window. And now everything appeared to be in AR(augmented reality). Kiel could even touch the options. This felt really like a game from his previous world.

Somehow he felt that system underwent some huge changes unknown to him.

Kiel looked at the choice. Everything was in deep black colour but only the Inventory was greyed out. And when he did touch the Inventory nothing happened. Maybe as the system specified previously, he had to understand the space element first.

"View Skills" Kiel had already seen the status window. And these skills were a new feature so he was really intrigued by it.

Ok then next was the shop. And this time he wanted to use the mind voice function.

'Open Shop!' Kiel wanted to really do this.

This! Kiel was really astounded with the choices present to him. He spent some time looking into the details of each available option.

The Biological Laboratory sounded great and it was the first choice. The system specified that unlocking this option would allow him to build a special laboratory in his system space. This laboratory would, in turn, produce genetically evolvable fluids which would rewrite his genes to increase certain stats permanently. But this required too many points and space element understanding. So it too was greyed. And so we're the bloodline.

His only choice was now to acquire the map view that he wanted, the books or some skills. Lab and the inventory was not a viable option now.

Skills specified by the system were mostly like mind glyphs without any limit which means more versatility. An elemental encyclopedia would include the rudimentary concepts about all the elementals. Rune encyclopedia was the same but it was a totally different field. But one thing that he did notice was that all the theoretical based options available in the shop were cheaper compared to the actual products available.

Kiel deduced them to be because the manifestation of materials required more energy and matter than passing information. But he didn't have much KP for anything and he didn't want a spell to train now. Moreover, Kiel wanted to wait until the trial was over, as he felt that this would provide him with the best opportunity to discover his flaws in more detail. Thus, helping him find the way he wanted to travel.

Kiel was confused about what he should save KP for. This thing looked good from afar, but from close it was too confusing.

[Host, why are you so confused? You had lived one whole life and you were even a scientist. And from the records, you even messed with your planet. So shouldn't you have the basic knowledge about how to plan it?]

"Huh? The system was that an insult? But whatever I think you have got the wrong idea. It is true that I was a science fanatic, and I did a lot of novels in my pass-time, but that was it. I can proudly say that if it is physics-related, there is no one better than me, but by no means was I someone like a mastermind tactician. Neither was I anything outside the science world. People idolized me because of science. Not because of my speeches. Heck even most of my speeches we're given by others. So you can get the idea."

Kiel sighed remembering his past. But somehow something in him felt incomplete now that he was thinking seriously about his last life. Was that an illusion? Pausing for a bit, he continued.

"And moreover, I spent the first fifteen years of my life in serious trauma, then the next five just to overcome it. What remained was another 15 years, where I had to prepare myself and then accomplish a lot just to be the renowned man I was. So tell me where would I find the time to be a master of psychology? Heck I even had ro act all narcissist just to hide my weakness from others.

And that cleaning up earth, was very easy to accomplish cause of all the infighting over my technologies. So there you go. That's my life, don't think I am some type of God. I was just someone small who didn't want to change with the world. So I did my best to change itself."

Kiel had a nostalgic expression on his face remembering his past, but he had already gotten over it. However, still somewhere in between from the past to present he could feel something was missing.

But he couldn't pinpoint it out. What was it? The thinking was definitely not helping. Maybe he could find out soon, or maybe never. But he could feel his emotions and choices we're all over the place, even if he did blame it on the Gid's challenge.

"Hey, the system now that I think, wasn't the gate samsara trials enough to overcome any mental problems? So how can I be under someone's challenge?"

[I would like to call it a curse Host! Although I do sympathise with you a little. And here I think YOU are wrong this time. The Samsara Trials was just for you to discard any lingering emotions with the past life. It has nothing to do with this life. So the gatekeeper's challenge is perfectly applicable to you.

It is you who should not have taken the challenge so lightly! Or maybe you were forced to? That's it, Host. That's how much I can understand. Don't ask me more?]

"Oh! I got it. Ok, that's enough pity mood. System Get the MAP!" Kiel had enough of the sorrow and disgrace he had suffered till now.

[Beep... Are you really sure you want to spend your KP on the 3d world view map?]

"Huh? Obviously YES!"

[Beep… Acknowledged Host! Deducting KP from the current pool. Syncing 3d world view with the Host viewpoint.

Warning: this may feel a little painful.]

A sudden pain assaulted him. But it was not that great. A lot of information entered his mind and then started forming an image which started to become clear.

[Beep… Map Downloaded and installed in Host's Mind. There are two versions of the World Map available-

.

.

After spending a few days Kiel noticed what the Stiv guy said was true. This place was much more than just an assassination organisation. And even the previous emissaries didn't even have a bit of professionalism. Maybe that was intended?

Who knows. Anyways leaving behind those things, Kiel really felt that he had wasted a lot of his time. So he wanted to practice as much as he could. However, when he sat to practice his chakra, Kiel noticed that he had a problem circulating mana to every part of his body. Even absorbing mana was proving to be problematic for him.

But Kiel didn't think much. Even in his best state, the process was not that comforting. But still, he decided to delve within himself to see what was going on.

He didn't have any mind glyphs or any type of spells for inner sight as the norms, neither he had the mana to do so. This was a handicap for him, where most magicians use these types of spells to find the flaws and other deep-seated injuries within their bodies and nodes.

While all he could do was feel his inwards with the life energy inside him… But still, it too was a great feeling.

But this time this life feeling truly stunned him. Almost all of his mana nodes which were awakened during the ceremony had detached from their original places and reassembled themselves leading on to the root chakra only.

This was truly something he didn't imagine. Weren't these nodes supposed to be constants not able to move like arteries and veins? He was really stunned. Kiel's interest was bound to be piqued by the sudden changes. So he decided to delve his consciousness into his root chakra. However, no matter what he tried, nothing helped him to enter the chakra world. The gate that s.u.c.k.e.d his consciousness didn't help this time. As much he wanted there was nothing he could do.

Maybe his chakra was overused in his previous battle and was repairing itself. He could only wait it out now. But he did try to work on his gravikinesis as much as he could. There was also the magnetic abilities of him. But as the trials were near, he just focused on his more versatile ability.

However, the main reason was although he was a kid now, he was fed up with the helplessness he felt in his last fight. It was only because of coincidence that he survived. And as a scientist, this term was what he hated the most.

Although he could not delve into his root chakra, he could feel its spin increasing with each minute. Thus he could only wait. However, he was in for a surprise when he opened his eyes.

"Huh? What is this? Why is my lower half-standing tall like a mountain? I don't think this is the morning result or I had any fantasies now?"

[ Your lower half has been standing there since some time ago when your visual consciousness was trying so hard to get into that unknown place. So how was it like Host?]

"Oh, the system you are back! Is sure is surprising that place prohibits your existence. Well, whatever. You are telling me that I am feeling horny because of the chakra?"

[Indeed Host! The root chakra is well associated with the increased level of s.e.x.u.a.lity as of the recorded information since the start of your practice.]

"Now that you mentioned it I did read your status update about Increased S.e.x.u.a.lity… but if that was it, why didn't I feel anything like that before till now?"

[You are wrong there Host. Your s.e.x.u.a.l urges have been high all the time. Don't you remember being extremely attached to your mother's b.r.e.a.s.ts? And don't you remember your not so attached to your father!]

"Wait… wasn't that because of my child's body?"

[Host do you even think what are you talking about? It was only in the early phase of the first year that you remain attached to your maternal side. But your urges were only growing stronger even in the fourth year which is an abnormality.

However, the reason that you were ignorant about it was because your age was restricting hormone production. However, as your age increased a lot, the cause is too apparent now. ]

"Huh? Is it like that? But… " Kiel was speechless hearing this. The argument logic seemed to be perfect. So not only the god's challenge to erase his past influence, but the chakra itself was trolling him.

"Now that you say so, the novels of reincarnation show an abrupt change in the personality of the protagonist. Is this the reason?"

[]Although I don't know what you are talking, most likely yes]

Now that he looked at him too, wasn't he too unnaturally obsessed with b.r.e.a.s.ts. He always thought it was due to his child tendencies clashing with his a.d.u.l.t mind. But it seems that there was a deeper thing to point at.

[Host there are many more examples from your daily life that the system has stored away in its database. The site of you s.e.x.u.a.lly harassing your sisters is a major cause; including your arousals from your aunt's teasings. It is because Host has no physical contact with the other s.e.x till now, that these symptoms appear only to your family.]

"Ok. Stop that's enough. I get what you are trying to convey. Hmm… now that you say so, was I helping that Tia girl for the same reason?"

[Host, such indirect cases cannot be proctored under system judgement. But…]

"Well, there is a probability for everything no matter how small it is. Sigh. First the challenge of that God and now this. Looks like I have to find a solution for all this. Otherwise I…"

Kiel spent the rest of his days training and thinking for a solution for this problem. He could now see the hustle-bustle all around increasing even more, evident of the upcoming Blood Trials.

And on the day before his trial, he got a letter from one of the attendants regarding the rules of the test.
