Chapter 6 - 6: Entering Samsara, part 3

Subtitle- Samsara Trials

As soon as Kiel replied, a few lights around them started to converge at a place not far from them. Soon they began to materialize into a big archaic door. The door was a little brown in colour with an ancient feel to it. It even had a big black wheel with five spokes in it at the top which added a sensual charm to the door. It seemed so gigantic and majestic that Kiel felt like an ant in front of it and Hide, a slightly bigger ant.

Kiel was a little surprised by the sudden appearance of the door. But he couldn't see anything more special about the door. Wanting to ask Hide about the door, Kiel looked around. When he turned to Hide, Kiel saw a reverence and little shock in his eyes for the door. Kiel immediately realised that there was something more to the door, than that meets the eye. Thinking what is so special about the door, Kiel looked at the door again. But this time his focused more on the door trying to find more about it's mysteries.

As he focused more and more, he felt a migraine. But just as he was about to give up, he felt a subtle connection to the door. He felt the door's intimacy and had an apparent feeling that the door was made for him. He also felt that the door was calling for him. Feeling so many emotions at the same time, Kiel was a little fl.u.s.tered, and his almost non existent face had a beet red hue to it.

Seeing Kiel's actions, Hide has a bemused expression on his face.

"Interesting… little soul… your karma have conjured a black dharmic wheel gate. It seems that you are really unique, my dear little soul."

Hide who always had an amicable smile on his face no matter what happened, now had a predator look on his face, like he couldn't wait to dissect the little soul in front of him to see what more secrets did it hold. Kiel felt a chill down in his whole body seeing that look, because he knew what that look exactly meant. It was the exact same look he had when he discovered the secrets of reality particles. It was the look of an insatiable curiosity which could only be satiated by finding all of the secrets, the prey held within.

Overwhelmed by the discomfort, Kiel tried to change the subject.

"Black dharmic wheel gate?? Are there other gates of Karma too??"

"Yes. For those worthy there are many other gates of karma. The appearance of a gate for someone, depends on their own karma and some other laws. But mostly their beliefs and how unique their soul has become, aka the purity of subconsciousness. I shouldn't say this but your soul is on the verge of ascending to a higher level. If you work hard enough maybe it can. Or maybe not.

Coming back to your question, there are many types of gates, but you don't need to know them now. Knowing things far above your league can bring you more misfortune than good luck. You only need to know that your own gate is one of the top karmic gates. In fact a variant and you can get better benefits if you pass the trials."

Hearing this Kiel felt a bit of pride swelling in him. Seeing his conjectures Hide added,

" But don't be happy yet. The higher the level of the gate, the greater the risks associated with it, in your words… even more challenges."

Hearing the word challenge, Kiel felt adrenaline feeling his non existent body. He couldn't wait to see what challenges the gate could offer him and if he could have enough fun.

"When you are ready, touch the door and it will transfer your soul to the next trial grounds. And be quick. "

Kiel was to run off. But he still didn't lose his calm. Turning around he asked,

"Before going do you have any suggestions??"

"Nope. All gates are essentially different. They depend on their user. But remember that you should hold a firm believe in yourself no matter what. You should never falter from your convictions. That's enough. Now go and face your trials.", Hide said with his usual amicable smile, nodding to his reactions about not losing his calm in excitement.

Kiel went forward with a nervous expression and touched the door slowly for any changes. But the moment he touched the door, he felt like his consciousness disappearing in an instant. And in the next moment, he was in a different place with a completely different scenery. He seemed to have transferred to some kind of plains. There was greenery all around and the sky seemed way too blue than usual. There was an amazing fragrance of nature around him. Everything around felt way too pleasant. Bur there was an eerie silence all around.

Kiel looked all round, but found no one in the eerie place.

"Well this seems to be the first phase."

Just as he was about to relax down on the pleasant grass, he felt a stamping shockwave. As he looked into the distance, he felt his blood turning cold and goosebumps appeared on his skin.

He saw a pack of almost 2 meter big wolves running in his direction.

Just as he was about to complain about the absurdity of the situation, he saw that he didn't have time. There was nowhere to hide. The wolves were so fast that they would reach him by in the next minute. Running away  or hiding was futile. Fighting such big wolves would be out of the question. In this pressure, beside feeling a deep fear Kiel felt an unprecedented excitement. He slowly considered his opinions. He compared this test to the many novels and scenarios he read in the novels…

As he was thinking more and more, looking at the dangerous wolves, there fangs, the bloody smell in the distance, he felt a crisis. But something around him seemed to give him courage. Just as the wolves were a meter away from him and tried to jump on him, he mused, smiled and then sat down without doing anything and closed his eyes.

And as he opened his eyes again the scenery changed again. He stood up with a smile and excitement.

Outside the gate

"Hehe the little soul is  truly interesting. The 'Gate of Bhaya or fear' in the first trial. Interesting. And... he even passed it effortlessly. Oh and the next gate seems to be 'The Gate of Kȧruņya or kindness' let's see what can you show me more."

Just as Hide was contemplating, Kiel completed his second trial without any difficulty too and appeared in another place. Somehow he felt that this was the last trial.

"This  should be the last trial."

Just as he turned around he saw a downtrodden building, which made him fall flat on his b.u.t.t. Little children were coming and going out of it. Seeing all this his brain stopped working. He felt like …. The Orphanage!!

"F**k how can this be. No… no impossible... why am I here."

As he was muttering idiotically, he heard a sweet honey like voice . But that filled him with more dread than happiness.

"Kiel lets go. Its time"

His face became totally pale. Trembling he slowly turned around, thinking that this was all an illusion.

"E M I L Y …"

He still continued to mutter, "no this can't be… let me out… I don't want any trial."

"Idiot what are you mumbling about. Come lets go."

More sweet words came out and he felt even more dread. Then even a hand came out and a sunshine like smile too.

Kiel looked at the beautiful and cute face, with brown eyes and black hair, a small nose and a sharp chin. The girl seemed to 16 years old. She was not that over the top beauty, but had a cute and warm feeling to her।

Seeing the still stretched hand, Kiel like a fool stretched his hands  to the lovely girl. But his hand seemed to be too short than his original size.Kiel looked at himself, only to see a younger version of himself.

As he was about to talk to her, the scene changed again. This time Emily was holding a spoon and feeding him. Kiel felt that familiar smile and warmth, and couldn't say anything more. He knew he loved her more than anything in the whole world. So he just ate and relished the moment in silence, even if he knew it was all fake.

Days passed and Kiel started acting more intimately to Emily. He would always be with her. He just wanted time to stop here and let him enjoy this moment forever.

One of the days when they were together, Kiel asked her, "Nene Emily lets move out from this damn orphanage. We can go to the city and build our new home there"

"Silly child. We don't have any money. We can only rely on the orphanage. And try our best. When I get a job in the future, we will move out from here."Emily replied with a beautiful smile.

Kiel followed, " I will also grow up and become strong. I will then protect you from other bad bullies"

Emily smiled, "Silly child. Fine"

"Promise??"

"Promise!!"

"Yeh!!"

Kiel became way too happy and danced around in his small body.

As the day came to an end he closed his eyes and slept thinking of his previous promise. There was a big smile on his face.

"Living like this can be good too"

When he woke up, he found the same place, but he felt an eerie premonition. He woke up, brushed his teeth and then got off to find Emily.

But then he saw an all  familiar scene. Emily was sitting on a chair in the living room. The wardener of the orphanage was sitting across her. There was a young couple sitting by her side. The man had a l.e.w.d smile on him and a cold woman beside him.

"Emily they have come here to adopt you. Please pack your bags and wait for the registration to be complete"

"Yes"

This scene was way too familiar to him. Later it had even become his worst nightmare. It was because he knew what would happen to her later.  He knew that if she went to them, he would again only see her badly mutilated body thrown down before him, with the only wish in her eyes to give her a quick death. He still couldn't forget those eyes wanting death. Remembering those eyes, he felt a chill down his spine.

No he had to do something. Only he could save her. Only he could keep her promise to protect her.  But what could he do. He was just a four year old child, powerless against the world. He could only watch and cry his heart out. Always was. Always will be.

No I am a prodigy. Think Kiel think. What should you do?? I … I... will kill them. If those two disappear, then Emily will be free. That's it. Yah I will kill them.

Just as he was thinking the scene changed before him again. Emily was n.a.k.e.d and tied to the bed. The l.e.w.d man was going to attack her. The cold lady was beside Emily, smirking. Kiel himself was by the door. As he was processing the sudden change a voice woke him up from his reverie.

"Kiel save me!!!  It hurts !!! Its too painful!!"

Emily had a painful look on her face as she begged him..

"Idiot! He is just a coward. How can he save you! He can't even protect himself!! Hahaha. You should just focus on enjoying the p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e that will come"

The cold woman also smirked, "Coward"

Kiel just slumped down with his tiny frame. He could only cry and stretch his own hand…

"No… *hic* don't hurt hurt *hic* her  please…"

He then saw even Emily looking at him with a disgustingly look, "Coward"

Hearing this word from Emily, something inside him broke. A rage overcame his total inside at his helplessness, followed by a stark chill overflowing in him. When he was about to blank out, he suddenly felt a clarity he never experienced before.

"Not this time" There was a glint in his eyes this time.

Kiel shook himself, stood up tremblingly, picked up a kitchen knife from the fruits beside him with a firm determination in his eyes. Then his face changed into an evil grin as he rushed forward silently and jumped up to stab the man at his heart, with all his might.

The man feeling the blade passed through his heart  screamed like hell and pushed the small body of Kiel down. Kiel felt a sudden force on his head as he dropped down. His eyesight became blurry with a red color and the man slumped down.

A shrill voice reverberated by his side, "You imbecile, what have you done"

Hearing these words Kiel felt a surge of excitement flow through him. He had the eyes of a predator, that could chill some down just by looking at him.

He stammered forward, picked up the knife from the man and threw it at from where the voice came. A shrill scream and then a complete silence, followed by the weeping voice of a girl.

Kiel went forward and untied the n.a.k.e.d girl and smiled the best as he could to him. Suddenly he felt a heavy blow on his head.

Kiel fell down and blanked out, hearing "You damn murderer" from behind.

It must be that damn butler, Kiel thought before passing out.
