Chapter 57 - 56: I did It

"Am I going to die just like this? But I don't want to die? Who even wants to die? But what can a little girl like me do? I was helpless then. And I'm helpless now too."

Although her gazes looked empty, if one could see closely, then they would catch a glimpse of a subtle grievance within them. There was even bitterness in those eyes, but there was not a sign of leniency in them. There were stains but there were no tears.

This was Tia! Tia who could only rely on herself.

Hatred for the beast, hatred for being helpless, hatred for being clueless, hatred for causing the death of her friends and even hatred for being alive!

But these resentments seemed to only occupy a corner of her heart. What was the most visible was the unknown hatred she hid deeply buried within herself.

That's right, it was the eyes of a person seeking vengeance.

But alas, it didn't matter to the Black Leopard. It had already noticed the higher level of bloodline in the little cat beside the human female.

It had its intelligence risen by a lot after THAT experience. And it knew if not for THAT experience, it could never achieve what it had got today. It would have remained a puny Wind Leopard who had to stay away from other predators just to save it's hide. But it has changed a lot. It could even think clearly now.

But it also knew that was its limit. No matter what and how it tried, it could never break to the next stage. Even THAT could not help it raise its level anymore. Not because IT was unable to. But because it itself had reached its limit!

It was like this until now, when it had lost its hope.

However, it was different today when its blood felt the violent throbbing and inherent fear due to higher bloodline level. So even if it knew it could not kill these fellows, it still persevered. After all the allure was too great. The Wind Leopard was unwilling to give up on it just like that.

Its instincts were telling it that if it devoured the blood and soul of this small cat-like beast ahead of it, it had an extremely high chance of raising its rank, becoming a true lord of this area.

So it let out a resolute howl and even bet its life by using its own life force. And with the help of IT which was helpful to restore its mana, it severed up its life force to get the chance it needed.

Then it used the shadow energy it got from IT and used it to kill the two most annoying pest. But it could only maintain its power for a very short time.

From the looks of it, its bet paid off. Luckily it got the cat like a beast. Although it was still suppressed by the higher level beast, IT was still there. So it could somewhat ward off the suppression of the higher blood, plus the allure of raising its rank was too much.

But as soon it bit the little cat, instead of the flowing of the higher level blood to its body, it felt a great obstruction. An obstruction which it felt from the soul itself.

As a fellow beast, it knew what it was. The cat-like beast before it was already contracted. So unless it killed its owner, it could never be able to devour its soul and blood.

So it turned its eyes to the little lifeless pest before it whom it had though to enjoy for the last. Bu although it enjoyed playing with its prey, it didn't have much time. So it pounced up straight towards its last prey.

The prey was just before its range. But before it could finish it off, it sensed a great danger that could threaten its life. But it could do nothing. It was already close to its mission and if it gave up now, what it did would be false.

So it braced itself. It could just kill the girl first, before getting the beast and running off. It was a great plan indeed and it still didn't sense any other people except the weak human kid at a distance, which was no threat to it.

Yes, it was indeed a great plan, but just as it was an inch before the girl, due to its berserk state, it noticed small and shiny hurling towards itself at a great speed.

Its instinct was warning itself of great danger. And it even wanted to change its course, but it was already too late. Before it could even form its next thought, something pierced deep inside its eyes and then it lost its consciousness.

*Thud* the great momentum of the fierce beast fell apart as its body slipped down. It was dead! Yes, it had died.

From its eyes, you could see how wrong it felt to actually die!

Tia saw it with her own eyes. Something flashed by and the beast fell down.

"Yes, I did it!" Was the last word she heard as the world closed itself on her.

Fleming's Left-hand rule for electric motors states that whenever a current-carrying conductor is placed in a magnetic field, the conductor experiences a force which is perpendicular to both the magnetic field and the direction of the current.

It was a visual mnemonic created by one of the fore-runners of electrical engineering of the previous world Kiel resided in. It was this same principle that created the second industrial revolution in that age.

According to Fleming's left-hand rule, if the thumb, forefinger and middle finger of the left hand are stretched to be perpendicular to each other; and if the forefinger represents the direction of the magnetic field, the middle finger represents the direction of the current, then the thumb represents the direction of the force.

Kiel knew how this principle worked. However, understanding the principle and using it for the practical objective was a totally different matter. Kiel was now faced with the same problem. He needed a desperate measure to save would be general. However, what could he do in such a small interval of time?
