CHAPTER 88

"Huh…" she was about to confront his statement but knew she would lose.

When it came to Liu Xueyi, losing came naturally to her in a verbal battle.

His presence had a way of choking the words out of her or better still, silencing them completely.

"I just… well you cannot blame me. Your girlfriend was being bitchy."

The eyes she felt boring into her head told her to remain silent or face his wrath.

"For the last time, Andy, she is not mine. I met her once and since then she claims to know me and would stick up, just like today. This was the second time of meeting with her."

"Well, I guess you left a bit of an impression on her to make her so bent on making you, hers."

"Tell me about it," he said rolling his eyes at her. "Anyways, that was not why I came here. Please forgive me and let us work properly from now on."

"Seriously? Who out of the two of us is not following such etiquette?" Andromeda muttered to herself.

Surprisingly his insanely sharp ears caught wind of it and he glared at her.

"Seriously, can't I have some personal thoughts here?" she blurted out in defence.

"Then please, be my guest and keep the words to yourself, in your mind." Both of them sighed at the same time before turning their heads away.

As much as Liu Xueyi knew he was wrong, he was still mad at her for calling Mo Feng Yi his girlfriend.

He did not want Andromeda thinking wrongly about his feelings. He liked her, way more than what he would do to another girl and she needed to see that.

She was special, there was no arguing about it.

"Tell me," his voice broke the awkward silence. "What problems do you face?"

She looked at him with a questioning gaze as she watched him carefully. "What are you on about?"

"Tell me. If there is a problem you are facing, I would fix it for you."

She took a brief pause and gave her answer. "There isn't. Why do you ask?"

He creased his brows and raised them at her in confusion.

He was certain Jain Xiaofei and Cao Yan told him the absolute truth. And if it was so big of a problem, shouldn't she jump at the first thought of help he was offering her?

"Honestly, we are good here. There is nothing to worry about."

To say, Liu Xueyi was not shocked was a lie. He did not want to look stupid, so he decided to cut the chase and actually just ask her plainly.

If she figured, he could easily brush off her thoughts about his accomplices.

"Okay. How about your materials?" He watched her expression and indeed, he got a reaction from her before she masked it.

"I was informed that the materials had been bought. I would make an order first thing tomorrow morning. So, you can rest assured."

"Oh, yes I did have such an issue but it has been taken care of," she replied calmly.

"It what?"

Liu Xueyi could not believe his ears right now. After everything he got worried about, this was what she could say?

He wasn't sure if she was doing this to not worry him or if she really got the materials ready.

"Andromeda, you can tell me, it is my company, of course, I should know."

"Not really," he raised his brow at her again. "I mean, there is no problem. I have it under control. I can handle this bit of issue, don't you think? However. I am grateful you came to offer your help."

"Sure." He drew out the word, feeling funny as to why and how she suddenly turned the words around.

"I got wind of the news and since it is involving the fashion show, I ought to see to it that everything comes out fine."

"Ah, I see. Thank you."

"Yeah."

Since he had concluded the main matter that had brought him there, Liu Xueyi did not see the need for his presence to be there again.

"I would leave you to work and rest now. I think your break is over."

At the mention of break, Andromeda peeled her gaze from him over to the wall clock and saw that he was right.

She did not spend another second and cast a glance at him and then the door. She had not told him of their thirty minutes break, yet he knew.

"I have my ways. Besides, they were clamouring around and wanting to enter when I came forth. I should really give them a raise for being so patient."

Just like that, he was on his feet and within seconds he turned around, heading for the door. Surprisingly, Andromeda rounded her table and walked behind him.

The second he got to the door, he pulled it open and stepped out.

To their surprise, all of her workers were standing there, pretending to be occupied with one thing or the other, while trying their possible best to hide the fact that they were eavesdropping on their conversation just a few seconds ago.

Besides, judging from their rambling around and funny weird poses, it was as plain as day.

Liu Xueyi inhaled deeply, drawing out an exhilarating sigh as he cleared out his throat.

"You all shall receive a raise in this month's salary. Let your head inform the H.R Team and have them do the needful."

"Yes! Thank you, sir."

"Thank you, sir."

"You're the best!"

Since he wasn't one to be big on these praises, Liu Xueyi took the first means of escape from them, leaving Andromeda to do her work.

She watched him leave, her eyes trailing on his back and person, admiring the man she had come to work under.

Though some events may have spiralled between them, Andromeda was happy it was him rather than someone else.

Just then, all eyes fell on her, hoping to get a glimpse of what was going on.

It was not until Liu Xueyi left that she noticed the numerous eyes fixated on her. She lowered her gaze, taking in deep breaths as she felt choked once again from those beady prying eyes.

Thinking she might be able to get an escape, Andromeda took a step back and immediately they all rushed to her, chirping away like birds while flushing and smiling sheepishly at her.
