Empress of the Entertainment World

34 New Creative Director

CHAPTER 33

Several thoughts ran through their mind as to who it would be that had the guts to barge in on them like that,

While a wild guess could be Gao Fei, they could not believe it was wrong.

"Remind me again if this is what I am paying you for." At the sound of his voice, their eyes went wide and their body stiffen. There was no need to deny it. It was him alright.

The next second he stepped into the office, his cold gaze blazing with fury as swept his eyes around the room.

Immediately they scrambled to their feet, heads lowering as they greeted him. The maddening aura accompanying him only made them shrink and want to find a hold to bury themselves in.

As much as he loved his company and wanted his growth, he did not give them a hard time. Instead, he wished for everyone to do things their way and to excel. His biggest mistake and regret.

"Good mor…" He lifted his hand quickly to stop them. Not saying a word, Liu Xueyi held them where he wanted, keeping them on their toes as shivers ran down their spine.

"I pay you to work but all I get is laxity of the highest order. Is that the contract you signed?!" He bellowed at them.

They could see the creases between his brows, the wrinkles being formed on his forehead and the veins popping up at the side of his head.

"Answer me!" Liu Xueyi hollered again.

"Sir… Umm, you, you are mistaken," Zhu Lian spoke up quickly. "We are not…"

"Silence!" She swallowed hard and dipped in her head some more. "Speak only when I ask you to." He shifted his gaze to the side and ordered. "Come in."

Together, Andromeda and Xu Fang walked into the office. Immediately they stepped foot in and the workers all saw her, shock remained plastered on their faces as several murmuring ensued.

"Oh my goodness, it is her… She…"

"No. I think she has a fling with the boss."

"Look at her. How dare her use her slutty behaviour to fight us?"

"I must not let her win. She cannot manipulate the boss. Surely he would not believe her over us, right?"

As the murmuring continued, Liu Xueyi did not speak and beckoned for Andromeda to come to stand beside him. Not wanting to miss a chance for gossip, they lifted their heads and caught a glimpse of her.

What they had not speculated was that Liu Xueyi would be looking too.

The moment their eyes locked with his, their breathing stopped. It was like his gaze bore holes into their head and they trembled again.

"Everyone raise your head." They all obeyed. While some of the neutral ones watched, the guilty ones evaded eye contact with Andromeda.

"Ever since I decided to get a new fashion designer, I have not had the opportunity of coming here and I had my reasons." He took a pause, ensuring their attention was keenly on him.

"Today, I have come to officially announce to you, Starlight Apparel's top fashion designer." He averted his gaze from the workers and turned to his side. A smile plucked at the corners of his mouth and his eyes twinkled with mirth as he gazed down at her.

"Andromeda Kia. Starting from this moment, she would be Starlight's New Creative Director. Whatever she says go. You are all answerable to her. Andromeda."

She looked straight ahead, lifting her chin as she wore a confident dangerous smile. One that told of the hidden schemes she had in store for them. The dangerous look in those blue eyes of hers made them gulp hard.

She was not one to be messed with and since they made themselves her enemies, she would please them well and add them to her list.

Bringing her gaze to the side, her lips pulled to her left side, revealing a brilliant smile and the ladies could only eye her.

"Thank you."

"Very well then, they are all yours. I leave them in your very capable hands."

Just hearing him say that the ladies felt as though he was signing their death warrant for them.

She had been used anyhow by them. Treated as though she did not even matter and now he said she was the same person they defamed?

With their jaws dropped, mouths and eyes widened as though they had just seen a ghost, and beads of sweat appeared on their foreheads, giving more thrill to Andromeda who was having her fun.

Without another word, Liu Xueyi turned around and left her alone. He had played his part, now it was left to her to make her reforms.

Just as he said, he trusted her and wanted her to earn the respect she deserves from them and not give them the impression that they only fear her because of him.

He heaved out deeply. His sigh was a mixture of contentment and relief as he walked away. This was another day. Though it looked gloomy, he had his fingers crossed.

For Wu Bai, however, his panic knew no bounds. And each time he got a call from Andromeda's lawyer he felt like all his sins were coming to hunt him.

Ring! Ring!

He looked down intently at the phone as it buzzed. That was the third time that morning the lawyer was reaching out to him.

One thing was simple, as much as he could ignore Wu Bai, Andromeda wanted a clean break as soon as she could. She did not want to go into another contract while being faced with that scum.

"What is the meaning of this? Am I the only one who has sinned?" He grumbled but did not pick up the phone.

The more he gazed at the phone, the more his conscience pricked at him. "I can't have her leave. Why can't he understand? It is like he wants to ruin me too. If not he should be thinking of a consensus. Good Lord!"
