Surprise! It’s a full chapter today, hehe.

Enjoy!

The man next to him was still explaining something to him.

It was annoying.

Xie Ruhe closed his eyes and opened them again. The sharpness in his eyes didn’t abate at all. He stared at the man next to him, his voice became low and he spoke every word without any mercy.

“Did I let you talk?”

Shu Nian returned to the recording studio.

Compared to just then, there were a few more people in the recording studio. They were all older people with more experience in dubbing.

It was at that moment were there was only one boy left to audition. Xu Shi had very little experience in dubbing. He couldn’t even match the mouth movements and the sounds he produced didn’t come out right. His voice was too dry.

Li Qing didn’t want to listen anymore and impatiently let him go.

The boy initially had a joking expression on his face because of the awkwardness suddenly frozen over. His embarrassment and shame skyrocketed. He didn’t say anything else and immediately left the recording studio.

After the boy left, the audition ended and so did the short rest.

Huang Lizhi entered the recording studio again. It was an online modern drama and she would be dubbing the heroine. Because the male actor’s voice actor was not there, the two will dub separately and radio separately, including their interactive scenes.

Because the scenes were not concentrated, the other voice actors could only stay in the back row. They couldn’t always just walk in and out of the sound proof room.

Shu Nian was in the control room carefully watching them perform.

The microphone was very sensitive. The voice actors couldn’t make any movements and their breathing must be lowered. If they moved, that could result in the rustle of clothing so no one dared to even move a muscle.

Once she stood, she stood for a whole day.

Huang Lizhi was really experienced, her emotions easily adjusted and her dubbing speed was very fast. After entering the character’s state, she was unwilling to have the director issue a break. She would just take a sip of water, give her throat a short rest and then start again.

Shu Nian was watching at the side and Li Qing had asked her to try a passerby’s part in the trial run. She passed straight away. It was like gaining another character. Although it was a just a random role, Shu Nian was still very happy.

It went on until six o’clock in the evening.

Shu Nian’s throat was itchy now and she had to keep holding back from coughing. She was afraid she wouldn’t be able to control it and it would affect the director’s concentration. She didn’t like to cause trouble for other people.

Shu Nian hesitated and finally stepped forward to speak to Li Qing. She gave back the script to him. Huang Lizhi was still in the sound proof room. Shu Nian thought about it and just messaged her on WeChat.

Then, she left the recording studio.

While waiting for the elevator, Shu Nian saw someone next to her on a call.

She turned her head and noticed that it was the man who was just speaking to Xie Ruhe.

The man’s expression was ugly and he seemed very angry: “Damn, this is absolute madness. The big names are terrible. This is the first time in my life that I have seen such a arrogant cripple. The demo was okay but the overall style was totally unsuitable for Li Sheng. I kindly asked him to change it little bit and how does he respond? …Don’t fucking tease me, I have to be more tolerant because he’s disabled?”

Shu Nian pursed her lips, she immediately knew who he was talking about. The hand holding the script tightened.

The elevator arrived and there was no one inside.

Shu Nian walked in.

The man was still cursing on the phone, treating the other person as a venting hole. After several seconds, he noticed that the elevator had arrived and came over with a cold face.

Shu Nian looked down and immediately pressed the close button.

The man hadn’t fully entered the elevator yet, half of his body was still outside. The elevator doors closed and with a clang, it had touched his body before quickly opening again.

Although it was not painful, it still shocked the man.

He subconsciously wanted to yell out but he resisted the impulse. He didn’t know if the elevator doors were closing automatically because of the long wait or it was Shu Nian who pressed the button.

The man took a deep breath and said into the phone. “I just got into the elevator, don’t speak anymore.”

Shu Nian was a little nervous, her heart was beating wildly and she took a step away from the man. When more people entered the elevator, she relaxed slightly. After a while, the corners of her mouth gradually curled up.

It wasn’t very late but the sky outside was already pretty dark. The clouds were pushed along by the wind, like sesame-flavoured cotton candy. The temperature compared to earlier had dropped down several degrees.

Shu Nian flipped through the script while walking. She quickly put it in her bag.

It was still quite early to go home and Shu Nian was not very used to it. She silently thought about what to have for dinner as she walked to the bus station to wait for her bus.

It was rush hour.

After waiting for more than ten minutes, all the cars that came were full. Shu Nian didn’t want to squeeze in with the others so she just missed them. She didn’t dare to take a taxi so she just took out the script and looked at it.

She waited a few minutes more.

Shu Nian’s neck was getting a little sore because of her posture. She twisted her neck around her shoulders to relax her muscles. Her eyes glanced around randomly. After a few seconds, it settled somewhere three or four meters away from her.

It was him.

It seemed that recently, they met a bit too frequently.

Xie Ruhe’s position was next to the stop sign, only two people separated him from Shu Nian. There were quite a lot of people at the station but there was no one standing around him. He looked empty and deserted.

At that time, he was looking down at his phone. His short bangs hung down his forehead. He was dressed simply and casually with his peach blossom eyes curled up. He looked exactly like he did when he was young.

Shu Nian closed her eyes and put away the script.

She felt that she had not recognised the wrong person. She was nearly 100% sure that he was the same person.

Shu Nian didn’t know why Xie Ruhe was treating her like this but she wasn’t very angry about it. It was true that she was a little sad but she didn’t take it to heart.

He wanted to be strangers so she would respect his decision.

They had lost contact for a long time.

When we met again, each of them had undergone a huge change.

Even if they didn’t say anything, they both knew.

During their time apart, both of them had went through many hardships.

Shu Nian switched on her phone and glanced at the time. She looked to the side of the road and didn’t stay any longer. She turned and walked in the other direction.

Although Shu Nian rarely visited this place, she knew that there was a subway station nearby.

It wasn’t too close, just about a half an hour walk.

After taking a dozen steps.

Shu Nian thought of Xie Ruhe again. She didn’t know if he was waiting for someone to pick him up or if he wanted to take a taxi or bus. The latter two would be really inconvenient for him.

Shu Nian was a little worried and couldn’t help but glance back.

But found that Xie Ruhe didn’t stay in his original position. He was moving the wheelchair and coming in her direction. He didn’t look at her. It was as if they just so happened to be walking on the same road.

Shu Nian was stunned and withdrew her sight.

He also couldn’t wait?

Shu Nian didn’t think about this anymore and continued to walk forward according to her own memory. She remembered that there was a large supermarket nearby. She wanted to buy some frozen dumplings to cook and some of her daily necessities.

Even though she didn’t want to pay attention to Xie Ruhe anymore, Shu Nian was naturally sensitive and knew that he was behind her.

But it was not like there were other roads nearby.

Shu Nian didn’t think too much.

The supermarket was not far from there.

Shu Nian walked for a few minutes and entered the supermarket.

She originally thought that they would part there but she found that he had also followed her in.

Shu Nian was familiar with this feeling and frowned slightly.

Many things happened afterwards.

Shu Nian felt like she had grown an extra tail.

When Shu Nian went to the fruit section to buy bananas, Xie Ruhe would be picking pears at the side;

When Shu Nian went to the snack area to buy soft candy, Xie Ruhe would be picking jelly from the side;

When Shu Nian went to the freezer area to buy frozen dumplings, Xie Ruhe would pick up ice cream from the side.

Later, when Shu Nian’s shopping cart was already full with various large and small items, Xie Ruhe’s hands were still empty. He was really just picking and picking and not actually taking anything.

Shu Nian felt weird and couldn’t help but look at him.

But Xie Ruhe was calm like he didn’t mean to follow her at all.

Shu Nian lowered her eyes and stood still. She didn’t know what he was thinking. Later, she made a decision and walked to the women’s product section in the supermarket.

That particular supermarket had a lot of space and different brands of goods. It wasn’t limited to just domestic brands. There was two large cargo racks, facing each other. One was filled with sanitary napkins and the other was selling diapers.

Shu Nian casually picked up a pack of sanitary napkins to look at.

In reality, her sight wasn’t placed on the product but instead in the direction where Xie Ruhe was following her.

A few seconds passed.

Xie Ruhe entered in her vision when he came out from behind one of the cargo racks that blocked him. He noticed where Shu Nian was and the items she wanted to buy. He became very stunned.

His wheelchair came to a stop and then it moved forward but he kept a two metre distance between them.

Shu Nian felt weird. She couldn’t help but look at him.

He was at the children’s diapers section but his eyes were not looking there. He was staring at her. Upon meeting her gaze, he lazily looked away.

Shu Nian sighed and put down the things in her hands. She pushed her shopping cart in his direction.

Shu Nian stood beside him and picked up a pack of diapers. She slowly read the writing on the packaging.

Xie Ruhe became stiff because of her sudden approach. He lowered his eyebrows and tightened his lips. His hands unconsciously clenched and his green veins became very visible.

Seeing that his wheelchair was going to move back, Shu Nian looked at him. Her voice was soft and her emotions were quite stable. She sounded like she was pretty disinterested.

“Are you following me?”

When Xie Ruhe heard that, he kept quiet and refused to look at her. He appeared gloomy.

Shu Nian wasn’t someone who had a temper.

But because he was pretending to be deaf and mute so many times, it had made her angry. Shu Nian frowned and changed her tone. Her voice was icy: “Do you have children?”

Those unexpected words made Xie Ruhe’s expression crack.

It was an strange and inexplicable reaction.

“Since not.” Seeing his face, Shu Nian’s expression became bolder. She took a pack of pink sanitary napkins from the another shelf: “Then did you come to buy this?”

Xie Ruhe glanced at her and his gaze landed on what was in her hand.

However, before he could react. She Nian had already thrown the sanitary napkins into his arms. She sounded annoyed and cold: “I understand, since you need it, I’ll recommend this one to you.”

Xie Ruhe caught it in his arms.

Shu Nian added: “This brand is easy to use.”

“…”
