Chains Of Pride

Chapter 97 - Retaliation (Pt 2)

"You can't move the ship and you can't escape me, so don't even try. But, before I kill you, where did you get the Divinus Plasma?" Rikona was rightly intrigued by this.

Divinus Plasma was recently discovered and the technology to create it at will did not exist nor was it even deemed possible.

The Association was probably able to use its connection and was able to get all the randomly created Divinus Plasma for possible future use. But even then, the amount that they would have in stock would be severely limited.

"..." They said nothing, even Inu was tight-lipped. They knew that Rikona was able to kill them without much effort, and even though they possessed the weapons that could possibly cause her harm, the inability to use it was stifling.

At this, Inu decided to take action, Inu's condition was a bit odd, to say the least. Because he was deaf and mute, his sense of sight had increased several-fold and he developed something called hyperkinetic vision.

His ability to perceive moving objects went beyond the norm. Basically, if a coin was flipped he could tell you what it would land on every time as he was able to see every flip that the coin would make with extreme clarity.

As such he was able to take shots and make judgements with the weapons he had with little to no error. Even though he took the least shots, he was the most lethal person on the ship, and it was this kind of person that decided to take action on Rikona.

Rikona was on the outside of the ship, at the very front by this time. Inu was luckily located in a blind spot, though she sensed his presence, she couldn't necessarily see what he was doing.

She didn't think that anyone was foolish enough to take action against her in such a situation. She was just about to repeat her question when a massive explosion took place behind her.

When she looked behind her, Rikona saw that a huge hoard of Taliums began to flank her group. The group was massive, their numbers were easily hundreds, she had to finish this up and get back to them to do damage control.

Inu, however, decided to be the fool that would take advantage of Rikona's momentary distraction.

He now had his weapons in hand, they were a pair of extremely modified version of super magnums. The barrels themselves had strips along the length of them missing and there were electric arcs that flickered along the length of them occasionally.

The barrels themselves released an intense purple-gold glow, it is only when Divinus Plasma is extracted from normal Plasma, that the golden hue can be seen. It also has a subtle difference in frequency of vibration, but that difference is so small that a regular human is unable to discern it.

Inu ran from behind the blind spot that blocked him and Rikona from within the ship and took aim with the technologized Magnums right where he needed to.

By this time Rikona had already begun to wheel back around to deal with them, Rikona only noticed the other person that wore a visor of some sort with two weird looking guns pointed at her.

This may have all taken a while to describe, but the entire process from his drawing his gun for a quick inspection to him taking aim on a glaring Rikona took place within a matter of breaths.

Bam!! Bam!!

The massive recoil affecting his aim was not something that he needed to worry about, due to a special feature of the weapon.

"Bastard!"

Rikona couldn't summon the use of Perennial Mechanism in the time that she would need it, so she needed to block this another way. Another downside of this construct is that its powers couldn't be activated in an instant like Kura's Primordial Rondure.

Through quick thinking, she erected an energy barrier to block the bullet. She could see it through liberty of her empowered eyesight, just like the sniper cannon, it was like a regular bullet, with coffin-like engravings where the Divinus Plasma was embedded. It was sealed in place by a material that was similar to glass.

Truly these bullets were not easy to make, still, the scarcity of Divinus Plasma didn't constitute to make this a long term problem.

When the bullet landed on the barrier, the barrier broke outright, though Rikona may have erected it in haste, this was the barrier of a bona fide Avartel! For this to be able to shatter her shield just goes to show about the power within each and every single bullet.

Vwhip! Bang!!

The second shot went through the premade gap perfectly and was able to strike Rikona square in the c.h.e.s.t, sending her spiralling some distance away.

Though Inu wanted the head, the c.h.e.s.t was the best place he had to work with based on his and her position at the time.

"Land the ship quick!!!" Glover took advantage of the Rikona's release on the hold of their ship to get away.

"Damn it all!! I'm gonna kill every single one of them!" Rikona had a gaping wound in the middle of her c.h.e.s.t.

However, by using backtrack while she had the energy to spare, she was able to bring her body back to a point before she suffered the injury, healing herself in return. To be fair, Rikona's construct is to be considered a hack as far as powers go.

This was exactly why Nehone's so-called plan was to use her borderline bullshit powers and hack (cheat) her way to where she needs to go.

By the time she was finished though, the hover ship had already landed in the hoard of Taliums some distance away.

This didn't stop Rikona as she flew over to where they were, with one intent in mind, vent her anger.

"Son of a…! Where's Lady Rikona?!" Nehone was handling a horde of Taliums that swarmed them, something that happened sometime after Rikona flew off somewhere.

He followed by asking "This is too much, how are we going to handle all of these Taliums without hurting them?!"

"I almost forgot, where's Shu?!" Xiao Yu questioned.

Yang Min's complaint could quickly be heard, "Wait are we really gonna use Shu Shu for this?! My heads still shaking from the last time?!"

"No time for objections Little Min!" Nehone quickly looked around when he said this, looking around for the familiar collection of scars, silence and everything in between. "Zutto Shu!!! I know you can hear me, no need for finesse buddy, go all out!!"

Hearing this, Zutto Shu's face pulled up into a very rare smile, he built up his power for the summoning of his construct.

He repelled the 10 Taliums he was engaging with and sprinted off into a run. Though he could very well fly, he still preferred to do things this way.

His run ended with a mighty jump, rising through the air gave him a feeling of exhilaration. Once he reached the zenith of his ascension he allowed gravity to take over.

"On me, Gaia's Temper!"

As his shout bellowed through the heavens could see something that could only be described as a technological vambrace of an unknown material encasing his arms.

Several metal bolts of varying lengths protruded from around both vambraces extending well past his hands, as chains materialised and covered the entirety of his biceps.

This was one of the very few moments where Zutto Shu could rightly unlock the locks that he normally bound himself in.

As soon as he landed, the numerous bolts punctured the earth as one more word left Zutto Shu's lips.

"Tremor!"
