Ling Xuefei didn’t expect that Xia Weilan would still show up at the Uni after the Xia Family took her back. Not only that, she even appeared in such a grand scene. But so what? Even if Xia Weilan had a wealthy grandpa, in Ling Xuefei’s eyes, she’s forever the step-child who stayed and ate in her family, only worthy of being insulted by her. 

“Xia Weilan. You’ve got some nerve! How dare you hit Lulu! Don’t think that wearing these clothes will make you cut above others. In my eyes, you’re still a wild chicken!”

Ling Xuefei’s words made the few people standing beside them roared with laughter. They looked at Xia Weilan in disdain because they recalled her in flats and simple attire. Did she really think that having a bit of money could gain her honors? 

“Wild chicken will forever be a wild chicken!”

“Yeah. Ling Xuefei is the real heiress. Xia Weilan wasn’t even qualified to live up to the surname Ling. She’s just a fool who depended on someone’s whim for living and acted impetuously!” Those comments made Ling Xuefei very pleased. She became more arrogant. She slid her hands and sent Xia Weilan’s textbook flying from her desk.  

“So what? I simply look down on you. What are you trying to pretend in front of me? I’ll beat you up every time you start pretending!” Ling Xuefei deliberately used the textbook to show the strength of warning. Seeing that Xia Weilan didn’t react to it, she started kicking the book as if it was a piece of old rag.

“Ah! Let me go!” Surprisingly, it was Ling Xuefei who let out the miserable shriek. In a split second, Xia Weilan placed a firm clasp on Ling Xuefei’s leg! With a strong squeeze, Ling Xuefei’s face distorted instantly from the pain. Cold sweats formed on her forehead. Even the crowds held their breath because they felt the pain just by looking at Ling Xuefei’s expression. All that could be heard in the classroom was Ling Xuefei’s terrifying scream.

“Xia Weilan. You filthy step-child…Ah! I did wrong, I’m wrong. Let me go quick…”Xia Weilan reached out her hand to dig her ear. She raised her eyebrow to tease Ling Xuefei who begged for mercy so quickly. She chuckled and loosened her grip.

“Ah!” Ling Xuefei fell flat on her face. Her doggy-style posture was as funny as hell. Those who gathered to watch really couldn’t help but covered their mouths and laughed.

“Xia Weilan. You just wait. You won’t be happy here for long!”. “So, are you thinking of seeking help from Ling Jiancheng or Wei Hongmei? You provoked a fight but lost. So you’re going home looking like a cry baby asking for support from your parents?”

Ling Xuefei glanced at the door feeling guilty, wanting to retreat. She indeed wanted to get someone to help. She thought of hiring some hooligan to assault Xia Weilan but it would be disgraceful if she said this out loud. She shut her lips tight, flung her head, and left.

For the rest of the day, no one sought trouble with Xia Weilan anymore. After Xia Weilan finished her lunch at the cafeteria, she went to the library to look for information. Xia Weilan studied jewelry design. Not only does she need to learn the composition of art, but she also needs to learn production skills. Xia Weilan felt that since she needed to learn it, then she should do it comprehensively. That’s why she reads a wide range of books. 

In the afternoon, Xia Weilan carried a lot of books in her arms as she walked toward the school building. Suddenly, she heard a low sexy voice coming from her back as if it was whispered into her ears, “I see that you are a bookworm. Let me help you carry these heavy books!” Before Xia Weilan could react, a long slender hand reached from behind and took away some books from her. Xia Weilan halted her footstep and lifted her eyes to see Ouyang Mingqi who smiled warmly.

On the forest walkway, warm sunlight shone through the tree branches, leaving rays of light that hit on Ouyang Mingqi’s graceful body. He looked like a graceful youth who walked out of a splash-ink painting in his white shirt with black trousers.

Xia Weilan subconsciously tightened her guard when she saw this man. She took two steps back in order to put a distance between them. She was on guard and looked at him feeling annoyed.

“What are you doing here?” Xia Weilan sniffed the smell of conspiracy. The radiance in Ouyang Mingqi’s eyes dimmed a little. He lowered his head to scan the books in his arms. He looked at her again with generosity. His voice was filled with innocence, “I’m here looking for my friends. I didn’t think that I would meet you here. It seems like fate had brought us together!”

“It’s more like an ill-fated one!” Xia Weilan reached out and took her books from him rudely. She held onto them horizontally. She extended the thorns around her body.

Ouyang Mingqi followed closely behind her. He put down his stance and asked with a smile, “Missy, had I done anything that offended you? Can you enlighten me so that I know what I did wrong and apologize to you?”

“You didn’t do anything wrong.” seeing that she’s near to the school building, Xia Weilan stopped walking. She doesn’t want him following her like this. Ouyang Mingqi stood still and he stared at her back. Seeing that she’s still facing her back toward him, he moved to the front and saw her lively little face.

Xia Weilan gave him a stern look. She looked even more annoyed, “I simply dislike a gentleman like you. I also felt that men with glasses are an eyesore. I even felt sick looking at kind people like you.” Ouyang Mingqi’s long almond-shaped eyes hid behind the gold-rimmed glasses. He narrowed his eyes and thought, what sort of reason is this, it’s not even making sense. He paused for a while and said without temper, “Miss Xia has a rather unique taste. I wanted to know if Mo Beichen had said something about me that made you behave so defensive toward me?”

Xia Weilan lowered her gaze. Ouyang Minqi’s black leather shoes didn’t move. They sparkled underneath the sunlight like a hibernating snake with poison. “You put in so much effort just to get close to me. Could it be that you are courting me?” Xia Weilan raised her head once again. Her emotion was so complex that it was difficult to understand.

“Yes, I like you.” Ouyang Mingqi shrugged. He looked at her calmly and sincerely, “From the first time I saw you, I already liked you.” “Please stop liking me. I am already married. Don’t bring me troubles.”

“This…” Ouyang Mingqi had always been good at plotting schemes. At this moment, such a blunt situation was indeed a little awkward, “Miss Xia, regardless of what happened, I am the one who rescued you.”

“Mr Ouyang. Is it that the money I repaid back to you is insufficient? Do you want to collect interest?” Xia Weilan paused for a while before continuing, “May I ask how much more do I still need to pay you, Mr Ouyang?”

The weather suddenly turned cold. Ouyang Mingqi pretended to smile, “Miss Xia must be joking. Rescuing you was a very slight effort from me.” “In that case please excuse me. I am about to attend my lecture.” Ouyang Mingqi didn’t move but eventually stepped aside. Xia Weilan walked past him in a fairy-like posture with the breeze blowing on her hair stirring up a burst of fragrance.

Ouyang Mingqi didn’t want to give up. He couldn’t help but ask behind her, “Miss Xia, which part of me is incapable compared to Mr Mo?” Xia Weilan turned around with a lovely smile, “Mr Ouyang, you are nothing compared to him. You can’t even compare to a single strand of hair from him!” She turned around and never looked back after she finished her words, leaving a silhouette that Ouyang Mingqi could never forget in his life. 

Ouyang  Mingqi’s chest moved up and down rapidly from anger. Along the quiet forest walkway, the sunlight cast a shadow on him which resembled a giant vine. A meddlesome girl was secretly watching what had happened from afar. She saved the video that she took and felt aggrieved.  

“Xia Weilan. That’s the high and mighty Ouyang Mingqi. How dare you tarnish our Mr Perfect!” The little girl looked at Ouyang Mingqi’s despaired and sadden figure. She uploaded the video to the internet in a fury.
