CEO Husband Please Be Refrained

Early morning, the sun cast its ray on the building’s crystal glass panels, reflecting its ray on the person standing beside the road. 

In front of the Xia Corps office building’s entrance stood a girl with pastel color outfits. However, it couldn’t conceal the girl’s self-confidence.

That girl was holding a phone with one hand. As soon as she hung up the phone, she saw a person panting as he ran toward her. He said respectfully, “Miss Xia, you are here.”

It was exactly seven-thirty, the start of the working hour.

Xia Weilan stared at the manager in front of her and asked curiously, “Did my uncle request you to come to meet me?” 

“Yes, President Xue was busy with duties and had ordered me to assist you with the onboarding process.” Manager Yang said respectfully He lowered his head while speaking.

Xia Weilan glanced at Manager Yang briefly and followed him to the designing department.

“Everyone, stop what you’re doing and gather around here. Let me introduce you to our new member.” Manager Yang ordered arrogantly as soon as he entered the designing department.

The employees stared at each other and gathered around in confusion.

“This is our new designer, Miss Xia. She will be doing her internship at the designing department during the summer break. All of you will have to get along with her nicely, understand?” When Manager Yang finished speaking, he bowed to Xia Weilan.

Xia Weilan clearly saw the disdain expression of a few employees and some of them even wore a fake smile. 

It seemed that Xue Zhiqing obviously intended to make others in the designing department dislike her.

“You are being modest, Manager Yang. We are all co-workers. Manager Yang is my superior, there’s no need to treat me extraordinarily.” Xia Weilan said in neither servile nor overbearing manner.

“Yes, Miss Xia. Please come over here, this is your seat.” Manager Yang was very respectful. He quickly showed Xia Weilan to her workstation.

“Tsk, I thought who else could it be again. We had suffered enough when Ling Xuefei was here previously, placing orders to us. Now comes another young miss.” 

“Yeah, look at the way Manager Yang is smiling. It was as if the leader was here to conduct an inspection.”

“But wasn’t this the young miss who had won the first place of the Mo Corps competition recently?” A girl with spectacle said softly, “I’ve also submitted my design.” 

The others were unconcerned. To them, all those young misses only know how to spend money. They wouldn’t believe that a young miss knew about designing. They would rather believe that even if it’s true that she won, it was bought by money. 

The staff in the designing department all looked at Xia Weilan with a strange look.

“Time for the meeting, time for the meeting. What are you staring at?” The Designing Director walked out of the office and was stunned when she saw Xia Weilan. But she didn’t say anything much. 

She said in a businesslike manner to Xia Weilan, “Newcomer, you’ll join us in the meeting later at the conference room. Remember to bring along papers and pens.”

“Okay.” Xia Weilan stared at the Designing Director’s solemn face and felt that she had finally found a normal being.

A few minutes later, Xia Weilan entered the conference room.

Those who were already seated turned their head to stare at Xia Weilan. They were all seated in two rows inside the conference room. The first row consisted of a few senior staff while the second row were assistants and new employees.

The seat beside the Designing Director was empty because the position was still vacant.

Xia Weilan fixed her gaze and walked to an empty chair in the second row and sat down calmly.

“Alright, we shall start the meeting!” The Designing Director hosted the meeting.

“The designing theme for this time is about vitality, reflecting the enthusiasm of the youths. The main color scheme will be focusing on beauty…”

“Director, I think the shortlisting for the design selection should be done by anonymous submission. This way, we can make sure that it is done fairly.” A designer dressed in alternative fashion said loudly with a cynical expression.

“We never implemented such a process before, why all of a sudden…” The Designing Director said. She suddenly glanced toward Xia Weilan who was sitting at a corner and paused before continuing, “Okay, let’s do the submission anonymously.”

Xia Weilan held her head low throughout the meeting. She listened to their discussion while sketching something on the draft paper as if she was an invisible person. 

The Designing Director cast a glance at Xia Weilan, she couldn’t quite catch Xia Weilan’s personality.

“Gaogao, why did you propose such a request in the meeting? If Miss Xia found out that you are targeting her, you could lose your job.” The assistant quickly mumbled beside Le Gaogao’s ears.

“What’s there to be afraid of. With my capability, it is a loss to Xia Corps if I’m no longer around. I am talented. I had no problem in getting another job.” Le Gaogao lifted her brown and stared at Xia Weilan, provoking her.

However, Xia Weilan didn’t even take a glance at her. After the meeting, everyone went back to their workstation and began sketching.

Xia Weilan appeared usual. She sketched for a while and sipped coffee while daydreaming. It seemed as though she was there to enjoy herself.

Le Gaogao stared at Xia Weilan in dissatisfaction. She frowned even more and focused on sketching her draft.

By afternoon, an assistant carried a box and placed it in front of the door of the Director’s office.

“Alright. Everyone, you can submit your design in this box. Those who were done can leave early.” 

Xia Weilan lifted her head as she heard him. Her eyes brightened up as she had already finished with her design. She stood up without hesitation and walked past Le Gaogao who was staring at her with a blank face. She then submitted her design in the box.

“Am I really allowed to get off work now?” asked Xia Weilan.

“Yes, Miss Xia.” The assistant said with a friendly face.

Xia Weilan immediately turned around and walked out.

“Wow!” Gasps from the designers suddenly filled the studio.

“She really is the young miss. She treats this place like a shopping mall that she can come and go as she please.”

“Yeah, she submitted her draft so quickly. Where does she get all her confidence from? I bet she’s just simply putting up a random design.” 

A few people stood around the box and said to the assistant, “Since there’s only Xia Weilan’s work inside this box, why don’t we take it out and have a look.”

“Didn’t we agree that this is going to be an anonymous submission?” The assistant blinked and stared at Le Gaogao.

“That idea was proposed to guard against that young miss. If her design was good and was selected by the director, we’ll be convinced. what if it was bad or was even being swapped?”

“Yeah, we’ll just take a peek. Don’t let the director know about this.” The others also supported the idea.

The assistant hesitated as he took out the design draft and laid it in front of everyone.

The few of them extended their necks, polished their eyes and put up a mocking face. But they were all stunned by what they saw in front of their eyes. They were instantly speechless.
