“Didn’t you want me to accompany you? Get in the car.” 

Xia Weilan was still in daze. “Didn’t you say that you have some work to attend to?”

“Work had been postponed. Get in.” A smile flashed across Mo Beichen’s face.

Upon hearing that, Xia Weilan felt delighted. She got in the car and after buckling her seatbelt, she recalled that Rui Li was still waiting for her at the mall. 

 “Rui Li is still waiting for me at the mall.”

Mo Beichen frowned and made a call. 

“Today Weilan is mine. I’ll call Nan Fengyan to accompany you?”

Not knowing what Mo Beichen heard on the other end, he suddenly hung up and said to Xia Weilan, “We don’t need to bother about them. Nan Fengyan was already with Rui Li.”

Xia Weilan was stunned when she heard him. “What’s up with Nan Fengyan lately? Is he a stalker?”

“There’s no need to bother about them. I’ll bring you to a place.” Mo Beichen lifted his gaze and stared at her tenderly. He stepped on the accelerator and sped off.

“I think I better give Rui Li a call.” Xia Weilan said worriedly.

“Although he looks cheeky, he’s actually a nice person. Don’t worry. He won’t dare to bully Rui Li and he’s also not capable of bullying her.” Mo Beichen said while he put on some music. The car was suddenly filled with classical romance ambience.

Xia Weilan didn’t insist on calling her and rested against the back of the car. She watched as the car sped through like a flash of lighting into the rural. 

Soon, the car stopped at the foot of the mountain. 

Xia Weilan got out of the car first, whereas Mo Beichen drove to the nearest parking lot.

A beggar with torn clothing sat beside the road not far from Xia Weilan. That was the spot where tourists usually passed by. 

Xia Weilan couldn’t help but take a few looks at the beggar. She was thinking that when Mo Beichen came, she would go help him, considering it as doing a good deed during her birthday.

But as Xia Weilan was waiting for Mo Beichen, she suddenly squinted. She saw the handicapped beggar suddenly stand up to circulate his blood as he was too tired from all the sitting. He quickly sat down when he saw a group of people coming his way.

A gush of fury suddenly raised inside Xia Weilan when she saw this.

This beggar was obviously a cheater who pretended to be handicapped.

“What are you looking at?” Mo Beichen who already stood beside her asked. He followed the direction that she was looking at and saw the beggar who sat on the floor. 

He thought that Xia Weilan pitied him.

“There’s a lot of beggars begging around this area. If you pity him, we can go over to help him.”

Today, Mo Beichen only wanted to make his beautiful lady happy, so he did his best to impress her. 

The two of them walked in front of the beggar. He seemed to be around twenty years old with his face stained with dirt, exposing a pair of bright eyes. His eyes brightened up when he saw Mo Beichen and Xia Weilan walking toward him. He immediately knocked the wooden sign beside him with a stick.

Xia Weilan glanced at the sign with ‘handicapped’ written on it.

“Kind sir and miss, I beg for your help. It’s been two days since my last meal.”

Said the beggar when he saw Xia Weilan in silence. 

At that moment, there was already a group of tourists heading this way. They were standing beside the road for a rest and were staring in this direction.

“How did you get injured?” Xia Weilan kneeled down and asked.

“It’s just bad luck. While I was mining for coal, the mine collapsed. By the time I was rescued, I wasn’t able to walk already.” The beggar said emotionally as he put up a sad face, “The contractor refused to compensate me and even drove me away.”

“What? That’s such a desolate thing to do!” One of the tourists walked over in furious when he overheard what the beggar said. 

 “My pal, here’s some money. Take it.”

The tourist took out a hundred dollar note from his pocket and was about to give it to the beggar. But Xia Weilan stopped him. 

“Don’t give it to him yet.”

The beggar saw Xia Weilan’s action and twitched his eyes. He moved his body but didn’t stand up.

Mo Beichen squinted and he was able to tell from a glance that there was absolutely no problem with the beggar’s leg. 

“Since you are in such a pitiful state, let me help you to call the police.” Xia Weilan said as she picked up her phone.

“Don’t!” The beggar shouted in panic but Xia Weilan won’t listen to him and really made the call.

“What’s the matter with you? Did I ever ask you to help me call the police?” The beggar jumped in panic and extended his hand to snatch Xia Weilan’s phone. Just when he was about to touch Xia Weilan, Mo Beichen’s strong hands locked his wrist. 

“Don’t you dare touch her!”

Everything happened too fast. The tourist was staring with wide eyes as he couldn’t believe what was happening in front of his eyes. He was so stunned as if he had seen a ghost.

“You…aren’t you handicapped?” 

“Can’t you tell? He’s a fake.” A few other tourists immediately came over. 

“Let go of me.” The beggar stared guiltily at the crowds surrounding him as he struggled with all his might.

Xia Weilan put down her phone and said coldly, “I’ve already called the police, you’ll just wait to be punished by the law.”

The beggar was immediately frightened. At this moment, Mo Beichen loosened his grip on him and led Xia Weilan away from the crowd. The beggar was still surrounded by the group of people and the angry voice of the tourist could be heard.

“You can’t go! How dare you try to deceive me!”

“Do you even have mercy? I’m just trying to find a meal or two. Now let me go!” The beggar said in panic.

However, no one was listening to him. A while later, the sound of the police whistle was heard.

At this moment, Mo Beichen and Xia Weilan were already at the entrance of a giant building. 

“Don’t bother about it. We’re here to have fun. So don’t let it spoil the mood.”

At first, Xia Weilan still intended to turn around to look at the situation over there. But after hearing Mo Beichen’s words, she controlled her curiosity and followed Mo Beichen inside the building.

The both of them were escorted by the manager into a giant training ground. There were numerous bows and arrows laid out in front of Xia Weilan and there was a round target block placed not too far away. 

“I knew that you never played this before, so I thought of bringing you here.” Mo Beichen picked up a bow and an arrow and placed it on Xia Weilan’s hand as he taught her proper handling posture.

At first, Xia Weilan had no idea on how to operate it. But Mo Beichen was very patient. He kept leaned close to him as he whispered the things that she needed to take note of into her ears. Xia Weilan eventually found the technique for it.

‘Bang!’ The arrow that Xia Weilan shot on her own hit the target. At that instant, Xia Weilan finally felt a gush of pleasure and became even more focused.

Xia Weilan’s face was filled with a glow of excitement. Her face was red like a delicate flower. Mo Beichen who was sitting at a corner seemed to have forgotten about everything as he just stared quietly at her, feeling happy.
