The girl was baffled by Fu Jinxiao’s explanation. And so was Shen Xingsui. And the audience.

[Family difficulties, Fu Jinxiao? Huh, that’s news to me.]

[Hahahaha, Mr. Fu, are you okay?]

[The Fu Conglomerate has left the chatroom.]

[Fu-ge is always good at bullshitting, I see.]

Shen Xingsui thought differently from others, or in other words, he had a thick idol filter on Fu Jinxiao. While others would knew Fu Jinxiao was fucking around, Shen Xingsui expected that Fu Jinxiao wouldn’t lied to him. So, he interpreted his words as–

“I have had a difficult family life since I was a child. Being an actor is a wish from back then.”

Maybe this sounded wild to consider such a background to Fu Jinxiao, who was born into such a rich family. But Shen Xingsui had an inkling of Fu Jinxiao’s early life, especially when weighing in his strained relationship with his father and the death of his biological mother…

Shouldn’t this have a hint of truth?

After all, this part of his life wasn’t something that Fu Jinxiao had publicized.

That’s why Shen Xingsui… felt that Fu Jinxiao said the truth.

Of course, the dancer girl didn’t think so. She said, “That’s not okay, although I understand your dream of becoming an actor, but if you don’t dance, you will fail your mission.”

Fu Jinxiao asked, “Since there is a vacancy in this role, isn’t it the same even if I fill it in?”

“It’s not like that.” The girl looked at Actor Fu and said, “Although it sounds not difficult, it is actually quite difficult to play correctly. To play it half-heartedly because of insufficient practice could be counted as disrespecting the story behind it too.”

To a certain extent, it could be said that this little girl actually blocked the eloquent Actor Fu back.

Shen Xingsui really thought that Fu Jinxiao wanted to act. So he offered, “Teacher Fu, if you want to act, I can give you my role. I can try to play the drums instead.”

“…”

There was a momentary silence in the air.

Fu Jinxiao took a deep look at Shen Xingsui. The meaning of this glance made Shen Xingsui a little confused. Why was Actor Fu looking at him like this?

Then Actor Fu smiled and said, “Comrade Xiao Shen, it is a big taboo in the acting world to give up roles at will, understand?”

Of course, this wasn’t what he truly felt. He just didn’t want to play as the bride.

However, Shen Xingsui ate the lie up. He quickly apologized, “I’m sorry, teacher, I understand. I will play a fairy well.”

But Fu Jinxiao didn’t want the child to blame himself, so he said slowly, “I know you can play it well. Plus, I just want to burden you further – dancing as the drum-men is more laborious and energy-intensive. You just run around and chop firewood at noon, I don’t want you to overtire yourself.”

Shen Xingsui was touched. He didn’t expect that Fu Jinxiao would think so much about himself, and immediately felt a little nervous. “Thank you, Mr. Fu.”

The girl next to them remembered something once this topic was brought up. She asked, “Speaking of this, I also asked you to carry several loads of water for my family this morning. You can dance drums on your shoulders, right?”

Shen Xingsui was also a little worried. “Your shoulder?”

Fu Jinxiao didn’t care much about his body. He waved his hand. “It’s okay.”

After a while, the girl’s brother came. He was still young, the type of youthful, sunny young man. When he came out of the room and saw Shen Xingsui and Fu Jinxiao, he was neither humble nor overbearing. He came over, bowed and said, “Hello, two teachers.”

Fu Jinxiao greeted back, “Hello.”

Shen Xingsui looked at this person but was a little surprised and dumbfounded.

Isn’t this his former classmate Zhang Chi1By the way, Zhang Chi isn’t the girl’s blood-related brother, just a friend she referred to with “brother”.? Not long ago, he met him in a shopping mall, and later Zhang Chi wrote Weibo on the Internet to speak out on his behalf. Shen Xingsui didn’t expect to meet him here. But when he thought about it carefully, Zhang Chi did say in the past that he belonged to an ethnic minority.

Zhang Chi took the initiative to walk up to Shen Xingsui, and smiled in nostalgia. “Suisui, long time no see.”

Shen Xingsui finally recovered from his daze, and shook hands quickly, “Hello.”

Zhang Chi looked at him a little stiffly.

Shen Xingsui stretched out his arms and said, “I finally see you again. We are about to cooperate. Can you give me a hug?”

Zhang Chi obviously became more enthusiastic. He immediately nodded and hugged Shen Xingsui.

Actor Fu, of course, noticed this unexpected closeness with one glance. He asked, “Do you know each other?”

Zhang Chi and Shen Xingsui replied at the same time:

“We used to be very good friends.”

“He was a classmate of mine.”

The two voices fell, and the two different relationships were said, making the atmosphere very awkward.

Fu Jinxiao raised his eyebrows slightly. As a veteran actor who had seen many complicated social relationships, he knew what to make with this kind of different answer. Especially to people he considered as “rivals” – someone like Zhang Chi.

This young man called Zhang Chi had an erratic look in his eyes. It was fixed on Shen Xingsui, who insisted that it was just an ordinary classmate relationship. Fu Jinxiao knew something fishy was going on.

The smile on the corners of Fu Jinxiao’s lips deepened, and his tone stretched a bit, “I see.”

Zhang Chi’s expression fell.

Fu Jinxiao seemed to be afraid that Zhang Chi would feel comfortable with the situation. He suddenly became… oddly polite. “Since everyone knows each other, there is no need to be too polite. Let’s start practicing.”

The actor’s way of dealing with people and things was always professional, he is well-known in the industry for this. But for some reason, this creeped Zhang Chi out, as if Fu Jinxiao had somehow… separated him from Shen Xingsui.

Zhang Chi could only stiffly smile, and agree with a muffled voice, “Yes, don’t worry.”

The girl didn’t find anything wrong. She casually answered, “Okay, let’s start, then.”

Both Fu Jinxiao and Shen Xingsui had a different role, so they would have to practice separately.

The performance was going to be performed in the evening, and with so little time left, everyone was a bit tense. After arranging the roles, the dancer girl found another man to teach Fu Jinxiao his role.

Normally, this kind of dance needed at least ten days to a half month to learn properly. Thankfully, all of the guests had the proper foundations, so all of them could at least be somewhat competent enough.

The man in charge of teaching Fu Jinxiao thought that the actor’s learning progress was very fast. It was expected that he would be able to master all the movements at night at the earliest. So, he was going to break each part one-by-one, but he didn’t expect that Fu Jinxiao was brave enough to suggest, “I’ll dance it from beginning to end for you, and you can see if there is anything wrong.”

“?”

The male teacher was surprised. “You remember all the moves?”

Fu Jinxiao rolled up his sleeves, nodded and said, “I remembered almost everything when I first saw it this morning. Now that I see you danced it again, I probably can do it. But, I know I would get something wrong, so please tell me if I do it wrong.”

The man was still a little stunned, “Then, then you have a try.”

This was also the first time the audience saw Fu Jinxiao dancing in front of the camera.

With the sound of the drum, his movements spread out. The movement was slick without a hint of sloppiness. Each dance step followed the beats with ease. There were some more difficult ones in the middle, such as the movement of throwing the drum and catching it mid-air. But Fu Jinxiao successfully did it with confidence in his steps. The actor had an unique aggressive dancing style, with each powerful move seeming to have an extra impact. Tearing off his usual polite disguise, his actual oppressive aura was left unchecked.

After the song was over, the male dancer was astonished.

A thin layer of sweat broke out on Fu Jinxiao’s forehead, and he asked, “What do you think?”

“Did you learn it secretly before?” The man smiled and rubbed his head, “How can you dance so well…?”

Fu Jinxiao was neither humble nor overbearing. He put on his coat and said, “Truthfully, I’m used to this kind of urgent performance. Sometimes the announcement of a scene is very late, and I don’t have much time to rehearse it. In the end, it became a habit of mine.”

The audience in the live broadcast room also sighed with awe.

[Teacher Fu has really taken one step at a time these years.]

[So handsome, so handsome.]

[Forever top class, Fu Jinxiao.]

[He deserves his popularity!]

The male dancer commented, “You are learning so fast, you are really good.”

Meanwhile, not far away was where Shen Xingsui and Zhang Chi practiced. The female dancer also gave some pointers here and there, but Zhang Chi offered to teach in her stead, especially since they would be dancing together in tonight’s performance.

The two young men danced in duet, so it was inevitable that there would be many physical contacts. Despite all of that, Fu Jinxiao felt that it was too intimate to his liking.

Fu Jinxiao looked away from a distance, and curled his lips into an ambiguous smile, “Of course it’s better to learn it as soon as possible. After all, I’m with my teammates. If I learned it earlier, I’d better go and help them, right?”

He patted Fu Jinxiao on the shoulder and said, “Young man, you are really nice to your little friend!”

Fu Jinxiao smiled and said, “Thank you.”

The audience were a bunch of detectives. They could smell the actor’s stinky thoughts from miles away.

[Sisters, I don’t doubt that Mr. Fu over there had some other ulterior motives.]

[Hahaha, as if I’ll believe in your words!]

[Yeah, yeah, true. You just want to make trouble, yeah?]

[What trouble, he wants to “help”~]
