Blue Blood

Chapter 7 - Yes loli! No touch!

Waking up, for the first time I feel like I want to sleep in. It's like my body already knows I wont have to move houses after a month maximum and wants to memorize the feeling of the enchanted bed beneath me. Looking at my self enchanted pocket watch I stole from the most snobby Vampire I've ever killed (a golden one you can see all of the golden gears in) it's 5:00 am, I've always wanted to try waking up at the break of dawn.

I've never been able to since being reborn though since thats the time vampires go to sleep, I always stayed on a Red Blood sleep schedule since I can't sleep well knowing someone could smell me for km around and try to kill me in my sleep.

Getting out of bed I don't even need to get ready since my neck length hair doesn't get messy and the Yukata and Geta I got when I reached Japan in 1802 are enchanted, (It's the same black as my hair and glows a dark blue when the light hits it) I always dressed to blend in when adventuring the world since someone in different clothes stands out too much, easily connected by Red Bloods to the strange smell passing through. I even used my racial abilities to change my face and body to fit in, though nothing feels better than just being myself.

Something I can only do here in Gensokyo, since there are only two vampires here and I think them living in Gensokyo for so many years getting fed with the power every human here believing in them makes them strong enough to resist me. Remilia would have sent Sakuya to deny my visit if she weren't confident she could control herself after she smelled me, she wouldn't want her sister to have to leave Gensokyo if she attacks me afterall. I'm not even worried about Flandre since she's sealed in her bas.e.m.e.nt.

Walking out of my back door I see Mokou covered in blood with slash marks all over her. Though in about 4 minutes I think they'll be gone. She strips and gets in my bath, her healing speed going up while the blood that comes off of her disappears under the affects of my enchantments. I still couldn't see her nude because of the enchantment I wanted to keep ME from being seen nude, how I regret it sometimes.

Stripping and getting in with her I pull out some different treats I made, this time Ice cream kept cold by its bowl with peach sake and parfaits. I start talking to her so that were not silent the entire time.

Arata:"I didn't think you would be covered in blood the second time you used it."

Mokou:"I thought you would be more suprised I was so injured without dying, I hope you're not angry about me getting in covered with blood."

Arata:"I guess it's a trait of my species? It's like I can smell the immortality on you. As for the blood, I enchanted everything with the d.e.s.i.r.e of not needing to clean myself only relax. Any 'filth' that gets in is destroyed by the incredibly pure mana, you can even dip your clothes in for a while to clean them. Though I'll admit I'm curious who could fight back so much against you, they must be strong."

Mokou:"It was mine eternal enemy, Kaguya Houraisan. We've killed eachother every day for the past hundred or so years."

Arata:"I guess if I ever become truly immortal I would also do something so stupid everyday."

Mokou:"You are very blunt, but I like people like that."

Concluding our small talk after a few more minutes we seperate and I head to the human village. After Aya writes a story about my Inn's I don't doubt they will become popular, but I'm afraid the humans wouldn't come since they fear yokai even though they don't get killed by them often. My goal in going is to get Aya-chan to Record all of the things about my race, including my connection to Ravens and the symbolism behind them if she hasn't already recorded those.

My hope is that once she records my race, the news of a new powerfull species of vampire moving into Gensokyo will cause all of the humans to read about me, learning about my species and making me stronger. While also seeing my connections to ravens, something that is believed to Guard humans, protect and guide them. I only need a few of the humans to become brave enough to visit, once they do they will spread word and since they won't die or disappear the other humans will follow them. Cha-ching!

Reaching the human village I just walk around, I can't even buy skewers since I had to convince Rinnosuke to lower his prices and take all of the money I had left since I bought in bulk. I walk around for about an hour, which only feels like a few minutes since I've already lived around two and a quarter times what the human I used to be should if you count my first life.

Eventually I find a purple haired loli that's out of breath being convinced to stop walking due to health conditions and ride a carriage the rest of her way home. None other than the loli I've been stalking *cough *Cough looking for, Hieda no Aya. The girl that can only live to 30 and then reincarnate after 120-180 years, bound for eternity to record information about all of the gods, yokai, and yokai hunters in Gensokyo so that they will never be forgotten.

I wonder if she is like Mokou and just wants to die? I put the morbid thought out of my mind and walk up to her.

Arata:"Young miss, you should rest your body more. Let me play you a song if you're so insistent on walking."

I play my flute and watch her Yin and Yang, trying to see what gives her photographic memory. I'm a little shocked though, normally people leak mana, even if they don't know they have it. It takes someone with control like Alice or Marisa to hold all of theirs in, which is why I wasn't suprised the person in front of me didn't leak any initially since she's so old spiritually.

When I play my song though it exites both a persons Mana and Ki, causing them to push on eachother like yin and yang. Making so much movement I doubt even Patchouli's (who is better than Alice and Marisa at magic, just weaker in combat due to Asthma) mana could stay entirely under her control, so how come this girls Mana doesn't leak at all? Her Ki leaks, and if she could hold all of her mana in holding a little bit more in the form of Ki wouldnt matter.

Maybe that the affect of her Photographic memory though? Strengthening the mana improves the mind and strengthens memory, but maybe her 'memory' is something forced upon her by keeping all of her mana contained? Eventually killing her since her mana 'drowns' her Ki, extinguishing her body. Like water and fire can exist near each other in simmilar amounts, but pour a cup of water on a bonfire or a ton of water on camp fire and one of them will disappear completely.

Even Alice and Marisa, strict magicians have bodies stronger than the humans in the village. While Patchouli has Athsma from playing with mercury, not a weak body. Though their bodies are nothing compared to anyone that practices Ki. It would explain why someone so old with so much mana needs guards. Finishing my song her overprotective guards are too dumbfounded to scold me for getting too close to her while the villagers whisper to eachother and point, having felt the healing in my song and connected me to the Inn owner Aya wrote about due to the pictures she took. Some of them saying a monster couldn't play such a beautiful song.

Aya's mana supported her weak Ki and helped her regain her stamina, making her a little stronger in the process. Though it wont keep her from dying in a few decades unless I discover something else to help her.

Aya:"What manner of healing was that!? I've never seen a Yokai like you! Are you the newcomer Yukari spoke about? Will you tell me more about your species!? I wish to record it with the rest of the Yokai in Gensokyo! And my names not Young Miss! It Hieda no Aya!"

I can see her eyes sparkle since she's speaking to a Yokai she's never heard about. Maybe she actually enjoys her job?

Arata:"The song was my imitation of a Phoenix's, it can only be used on the same person a few times a day, while I'm a Blue Blood, or a Vampire that drinks Spiritual energy instead of blood. Unless someone else arrived I am the newcomer, and while I don't mind telling you more your guards look like they won't allow it after hearing I'm a vampire. Oh, my name is Arata Shinohara by the way."

Like it was some kind of password as soon as I said vampire the guards regained their wits, drawing their weapons while standing between me and Aya-chan.

Guard 1:"Ojou-sama, you mustn't speak more to him, it's untelling what a Yokai will do!"

Guard 2:(in my ears)"Yada yada yada yada"

Guard 3:(same as above):"Yada yada"

Aya:"You guys know it's my duty to ask him more! And stop distrusting him because he's a Yokai! There are plenty of Yokai that don't harm others! Even the other Vampire in Gensokyo hasn't harmed any humans and is supplied blood by us! Yukari wouldn't let him stay if he were dangerous!"

They look like dogs that got kicked after finally being able to do their job for the first time. I guess no one in Gensokyo is dumb enough to attack one of the few friends of the Omnipresent overpowered peeper that is Yukari.

Arata:"It's ok, they're only doing their jobs. I'll be glad to continue telling about my species though since it seems no one in Gensokyo knows about it. As far as I know my kind don't have parents, or if we do the very world itself is since when I was born the mana in the enviroment pulsed. Pulling together inside of where my heart formed, carrying some Ki from the trees around me. After pulsing 64 times I opened my eyes and started seeing light instead of mana."

Her eyes are glowing while writing down on her notebook, not looking where she's going. She's lucky Ravens are good at guiding others and all thats needed is my presence so that she walks towards her home without walking into others. I continue about how since since in some mythos a Raven gave the sun to humans I can walk under the sun and since my mind doesn't need rest because of my ability to absorb mana so I only need sleep when my body does. Which is after around 3 months with my vampire body.

I decide to tell her about Kanshou and Bakuya during our next meeting, I want to spar with Meiling and her Tai Chi that uses both Yin and Yang before my swords get even stronger.

Finishing my story about my race and demonstrating my racial abilities including the raven transformation and mana control, purifying mana and feeding it to the grass under us , while I had to prove my mana resistance by letting one of the guards that barely qualify to cast a spell throw a fireball which I caught with my b.a.r.e hand. He looked so smug casting it but will never even be able to stop his hunger with mana, let alone become an actual magician. I'm glad his pride got crushed at the same time as his fireball.

Arata:"It seems we've arrived at your home Aya-chan, our talk will have to end here since I've told you all you want to know and I have more to do today. Though if you want to speak to me more I've opened a hot spring Inn halfway between here and the forest of the lost. It will help with your weak body and I'll be there reading from my Library around noon every day. I will leave a Raven with you since you're good company so that your journey there and back will be safe." (The affect of my Ravens guidance and protection only works on weaker Yokai, while the stronger ones wont bother with Aya since they know about Yukari)"

I don't have new books to read yet but since Marisa stole them from others, she can't blame me from stealing them from her. I transform and fly overhead and see only two clearings in the forest, every resident in it other than Alice and Marisa are animal like Yokai that don't live in houses, Rinnosuke lives in the human village where Marisa's father teaches him about magic items. I fly near the clearing closer to the north east and see a woman watering plants outside, she turns around and looks me directly in the eye even though I'm about 2 miles in the sky. Alice is really scary, huh?

Flying over towards Marisa's house in the west I see someone on a broom heading towards Scarlet Devil mansion, Marisa and she's probably going to steal books again. Coming to her clearing I start looking at the enchantments and spells on her house. The thing about enchanted doors is they're as hard to get through as their weakest link. Which in this case is the fact that her door and house itself is completely solid, while its opened by an enchanted key that causes the deadbolt to turn. Since it's a spell though I just have to exert my will on it and it turns on it's own.

Usually it's impossible for it to be so simple, but because of my species I can tell the spell to just do the think it remembers doing. Which in this case is locking and unlocking. If you want to keep me out you need something like a barrier that has the spell inside it. Going inside I see a single large bookshelf, the only person that keeps all of the books they've memorised is Patchouli, most magicians only keep books about the thing their currently studying. I look at every book and don't recognize ANY of them! Jackpot!

I take all of them and leave a note:"Hello! My name is Arata Shinohara and since it looked like you were going to steal something after leaving your house, I thought it would be ok to borrow your books. I will return them via Raven by the end of the day."

As I'm walking around I feel a 'clunk' as I step on a certain board. Not a physical 'clunck' though, I wouldn't feel it if it weren't for my species since it's a false board concealed with a spell so well I wouldn't have felt if I weren't actively searching for hidden mechanisms. I almost passed it up since I only wanted her books, though I check anyways since it might be books she stole and is hiding from someone. Checking them they are more advanced and esoterical than any of the others. Double Jackpot.

I take the last of the books and walk out the door, only to come face to face with Alice, she must have came after feeling my stare from above. I couldn't sense her due to being inside Marisa's enchantments and Alice being able to hold all of her mana in unless she's using it.

Arata:"Before you say anything, it doesn't count as stealing if you take from either the rich or a fellow thief. I will also return them after copying them, you can check the note I left if you don't believe me. I'm Arata Shinohara by the way, I arrived in Gensokyo two days ago."

Alice:"My name is Alice Margatroid, and I have to admit even Marisa isn't shameless enough to admit to being a thief so readily. Though I'm not upset at you for it, she deserves it after her shameless actions over so many years. Are you really a Blue Blooded Vampire like Aya's story said? People have trouble believing her if her stories are a little exagerated afterall."

Arata:"I am, and I hate liars so I wont lie about stealing, especially after getting caught. I need to leave before the owner of this house returns though if you're not going to stop me. I've already left my signature afterall. I would be happy to discuss my race over tea at a later time."

Alice:"I won't hold you up, I want to see the adorable face Marisa will make when whe thinks she lost her books afterall." *Fu Fu Fu "I will hold you to your word though, the next time we meet we must discuss over tea."

Her laugh when talking about Marisa's suffering was both attractive and scary so I turn into a Raven and fly away quickly. Reaching the Human Inn, which I use as my main Library since no one will think the important books are at the less enchanted place, I call the 5 Ravens not working the Inn's since they both have a few customer right now.

Using them my copying speed goes through the roof and all I have to do Is compare their copies with the original. Maybe due to being my familiars their bodies and control of them are high in ability? After the first page they write perfectly and make no mistakes at all, rewriting the first page in the process. Maybe because their Ravens, they like learning the new things in the books?

Finishing all of the books it hits noon, way quicker than my previous session of writing. I take a normal bag and enchant it's durability while increasing the size of the space inside just enough to fit all of the books plus 4 different pieces of cake. It's sloppy and will fade but I don't want to just give Marisa a free bag of holding. Sending a normal Raven to carry it to her home I think of my haul and how I will probably keep my word to Aya about being here everyday at noon.

As my Raven gets close to Marisa's house I take control of it and dive towards her home as I go over some of my new books. I see Marisa with a red face screaming at Alice about not stopping me.

Marisa:"Alice! Why didn't you stop him! Does being friends mean nothing to you!"

I fly down and land on Alice's shoulder, she laughs, both at Marisa and the culprit on her shoulder.

Alice:*Fu fu fu "Did friendship mean anything to you when you stole my new almanac of magical herbs? I knew the face you would make would be ~adorable. He said he would return them anyways, I don't see the big deal."

Marisa:"It's not about the books! It's the principle! How can I call myself a thief if someone is able to steal from me so easily!"

Arata:"I thought she wouldn't admit to being a thief so readily Alice?" I say, still a Raven

Alice:"It's different if you step on her pride though Arata. She wont let you tell her she can't steal something, or admit to stealing it unless you have proof. She just doesn't like getting caught. I have to say though, I didn't think you would copy the books so quickly."

Marisa:"Arata!? Return my books to me thief! You should be ashamed of stealing from others!"

She charges fireballs but doesn't throw them since she doesn't want to piss Alice off.

Arata:"I don't think you're allowed to shame anyone, and I've already brought them back along with my repayment. As for copying the books, I used my familiars as help. Here Alice, Marisa, decide who gets which cake while the books are in this bag. Take them out before the enchantment fades though since they will expand rapidly and fly into anything near them."

I say as I use magic to take the cakes from the bag and levitate them in front of Marisa and Alice while throwing the temporary bag of holding to Marisa. They dubiously look at the cake but try it since Aya rated it so highly. After Marisa levitates the three books in her hands that she stole from who knows where and get's distracted by the godly taste though I control my raven to grab the three books floating near Marisa and fly off while hiding my mana and gliding under the treetops silently. Leaving nothing but another note behind, which only Alice saw since I left the note behind Marisa.

Note:"Marisa! Since you're so kind I decided to borrow these too! Though they'll only take 15 minutes to return since there are so few. Most of the time will be my Journey to and from home."

Alice:"*Fu fu fu fu"

I lied about the long journey part, I'm going to copy them without the raven returning by reading the books through it's eyes, using mana to turn the pages. Marisa will try to keep him from returning home to keep her pride as a thief since she (I assume since Alice read Aya's report) knows where I made my Inn's and home. I'll only let the Raven return after it gives the books back since I don't want it to die.
