Lin Sifei was so embarrassed her entire face was red. When she ran into the bedroom, she immediately locked the door and bounced onto the bed.

She took out her tablet and looked through the film and drama scripts the entertainment company under Luo Ke received, as well as the artists under that label.

For the scripts, she just hoped to find something that was unique, since in the end, they would probably have to change and edit a lot of the script anyways.

Most of the ones they received were scripts from college students or screenwriters that weren’t very experienced. Although most of them needed work, they had a lot of good content, so Lin Sifei picked out two, but she couldn’t choose between them.

The first had a great plot and characterization, along with its central themes, but it was really a classic example of a drama possibly becoming popular without any of the popularity going to the actor.

In comparison to the first one, the second one had some issues with the plot and theme, but still had great characterization, especially for the lead character.

Lin Sifei sat up from the bed and shot both of the writers emails about their thoughts on the creative process, the amount of edits they could accept, and the full copyright fees required.

After she finished with the scripts, Lin Sifei moved on to the actors. All of the actors under the Luo entertainment company label had some type of ranking, but Lin Sifei knew from experience that most of them couldn’t be trusted since sometimes it just depended on whoever the boss liked.

She clicked into existing videos, and, as expected, most of them had terrible acting.

She let out a sigh and pulled out her new phone to send Luo Ke a message.

[It’s amazing that this company hasn’t managed to fall apart.]

She finished complaining and continued watching the video, but her phone vibrated quickly after. Luo Ke had already replied to her, drawing a laugh out of her.

[The profit earned by other branches and departments are all wasted by them.]

Lin Sifei raised an eyebrow and replied, [Watch carefully, I’ll help you earn it all back.]

She enthusiastically threw herself back into finding resources for herself.

When the clock hit eleven, two knocks sounded on the door. Luo Ke realized that she couldn’t open the door, so she could only exasperatedly call, “Xiaoxiao, open the door.”

Lin Sifei was still doing some ranking work on her tablet, and hearing the noise, took her tablet with her to open the door, and then she returned to the bed, still with tablet in hand, totally ignoring Luo Ke.

Luo Ke stood next to the bed, watching her, “It’s already eleven, are you sure you want to stay up late? If you break out in acne tomorrow it’s not my fault.”

Lin Sifei was sensitive to the two words “break out,” so she raised her head when she heard it, “Did you break out with a pimple?”

Luo Ke brought a hand to her forehead as she yanked the tablet out of Lin Sifei’s hands, returned to the home interface, and tossed it in a desk drawer.

“Ay? What are you doing?!” Lin Sifei glared at Luo Ke as she reached out a hand to the drawer.

“If you get it out I’m calling off my investments.”

Lin Sifei’s hands froze, and then she quietly pulled her hand back. She turned to Luo Ke with upset eyes again, “Why are you like this? Are you threatening me?”

" "

Luo Ke changed her tone to be softer, “Sleep early so that you can be more efficient tomorrow, and plus, sleeping late isn’t good for your skin if you’re going to be an actor.”

Lin Sifei reached out a finger to feel her soft face, “Am I not in a good state?”

“It’s slightly less than perfect, probably because you sleep so late, a little bloated.”

Lin Sifei used both her palms to squish her face into a duck-like expression, “Then fine, I need to sleep.”

Seeing her hurriedly scramble into bed and pull up the blanket, Luo Ke nodded with satisfaction.

“Please help me turn off the light, thank you, I need to sleep. After you close the door, can you please not make a lot of noise, okay, good night.”

Luo Ke froze next to the bed, “This is my bedroom, and my bed.”

Lin Sifei blinked her big eyes at her, “But I’ve gotten used to it, and I’m pretty adamant I sleep in a bed I’m used to.”

Luo Ke nudged her hip, “Then you go to that side, I also need to sleep.”

Lin Sifei didn’t move at all, “No, please, no, you can go to the room next door to sleep. There’s clean sheets and stuff, and auntie does clean it, so you can just go straight to bed.”

“But I am also adamant that I sleep in a bed I’m used to,” Luo Ke said, raising an eyebrow, and lifted the blanket to squish into the bed.

“Hey,” Lin Sifei kept a hand on the blanket, “It’s not good if we sleep together.”

“What issue is there?” Luo Ke looked at her, puzzled, “Didn’t we sleep together like this before?”

Lin Sifei’s cheeks gradually grew red as she stuttered, “Yeah, it’s just because we slept together before that we can’t sleep together now. What if that thing came back, you know?”

“But you aren’t in your heat period anymore.”

“Ah!” Lin Sifei pulled up a pillow and patted it onto Luo Ke’s face, “Don’t spout nonsense!”

Luo Ke, taking a pillow blow, also pulled up her own pillow and pushed back.

Lin Sifei’s eyes flew open with shock, “You dare to smash me with a pillow?”

Luo Ke took her pillow back and hugged it as she asked, “But didn’t you throw yours at me?”

Lin Sifei still had a complaint on her face, “But you threw yours at me!”

Her tone was so soft and hurt that Luo Ke even started to think that perhaps she had used too much force.

“Did I hurt you at all?”

Lin Sifei pouted as she said, “No, it doesn’t hurt, but you can’t hit back.”

Luo Ke finally understood, “So, only you can hit me, but I can’t hit back at any time, in any way?”

Lin Sifei hugged her pillow, her eyes misty as she looked at her and said, “If you’re gonna date me, you’ve got to pamper me.”

“And why is that? Why aren’t you pampering me?”

Lin Sifei looked at her, falling into thought before saying, “Because I’m pretty.”

“Am I not pretty?” Luo Ke asked her, leaning down.

Lin Sifei bit her lower lip as she looked straight at Luo Ke’s face. Luo ke’s face was more in the style of cold and mature. It was probably related to her being a chairwoman of a company, but her eyebrows were arched slightly upwards, giving her a powerful aura, and the tails of her eyes pointed upwards too. Her eyelashes were like little fans, while her lips were a full red and had the slightest hint of white teeth behind him.

Lin Sifei gazed at her in a daze, especially fixating on Luo Ke’s lips, and recalling their softness.

Her throat moved as she felt that her lips were dry, and she reached out her tongue to moisturize them.

“What are you thinking about?”

Lin Sifei suddenly came back to reality, as those lips appeared right in front of her eyes. She didn’t know when it happened, but Luo Ke had closed the distance between them.

She immediately backed away, like a little bunny that had been frightened, “W-Why, are you this close?”

Luo Ke smiled, “I was calling your name, but you weren’t replying, so I was wondering what you were fixated on.”

Lin Sifei wasn’t sure what she was thinking about, so her eyes flirted around as she tried to find an excuse, “Who was in a daze, I was thinking about something, acting.”

Her added sentence had no effect in convincing Luo Ke, in fact, it gave her away.

Those previous three days had allowed Luo Ke to better understand her, so she leaned against the backboard of the bed and nodded, “I now suddenly feel that sleeping with you isn’t safe.”

Lin Sifei, angered, put her hands on her hips, “What are you saying, I’m the unsafe one here.”

“Okay, then we can see tonight, who is the more unsafe one.”

“Okay!” Lin Sifei laid down and pulled the covers over herself, and turned so that her back was facing Luo Ke.

Luo Ke couldn’t help but laugh and also laid down, watching the back of Lin Sifei’s head.

Lin Sifei, feeling the bed vibrate slightly with Luo Ke’s laughs, pouted. Laugh now, we’ll see who’s more powerful later.

She closed her eyes to sleep, and in her haze between consciousness and unconsciousness, she felt her blanket being tugged upwards by someone, covering her arm that wasn’t under it.

She made a “hmmph” sound, and then laughter sounded behind her.

Lin Sifei started complaining internally how this Luo Ke loved to smile and laugh.

Wait, Luo Ke didn’t like to laugh, right? Has she ever smiled outside? Has… she?

But before she could think anymore, Lin Sifei had already landed in dreamland.
