Chapter 91:重逢

[Be reunited]

Just when He Ling wanted to stand up as he was holding his own back, he suddenly let out a muffled grunt. His expression was also suddenly changed, causing the two people next to him tensed up and reached out to hold his slightly shaken body.

“What’s wrong?” Xiao Yu Heng hung his head and asked him. Could it be because the movement when he was pulled around so much just a moment ago, hurt the baby in his belly?

“I am fine.” He Ling took a moment before he shook his head and reached out his hands to touch his belly. Ever since that last time of fetal movement, the little one had been turning over every now and then. Everytime, it was always leaving him unprepared, “The baby just moved.”

“You’re pregnant?” Du Huashang was surprised as she looked around his belly and waist. He was wearing clothes with a lot of layers and also a thick cloak, so she didn’t even realize (that he was pregnant) for quite a long time already.

He Ling smiled at her and gently stroked his belly, looking very happy,”Hn, it’s been more than five months. It’s only in recent days that the baby started to move.”

Du Huashang knitted her eyebrows; actually she was not really satisfied as she took a look at Xiao Yu Heng who was standing right next to her up and down. His status and background was passable (acceptable). It was just that this man was too sly and frivolous. He was indeed not a good match. If only she had met her nephew earlier, she would have found a better man for him who she could entrust his nephew to him for a lifetime. However, now that he was already like this, there was nothing she could do, “Well, since both of you are already married, then Xiao Zhao Lou Zhu, you really have to take good care of him. If I find out that you have wronged him in the future, I will not let you off easily!”

Hearing what she had said, Xiao Yu Heng smiled and knew that she had misunderstood which was understandable. He didn’t even say any words yet, the other party already exchanged moves (in martial arts) with him when they met. He didn’t even have time to explain properly.

“I didn’t get married to him!” He Ling hurriedly waved his hand to deny it. This was really a big misunderstanding. The other party was just kind enough to give him a ride and send him on this journey so how could she think that they were having such a relationship?

Hearing him say that, Du Huashang’s face immediately sank. It was true, if the young master of the Light Breeze and Rain House had gotten married, how could there be no news about it in the Jiang Hu?

She flipped her hand over and slapped toward his direction with her palm, while cursing,”Xiao Yu Heng, you beast!”

He was suddenly hit by her. Fortunately, Xiao Yu Heng reacted quickly, otherwise he would have been hit squarely, he hurriedly retreated a few steps away, to be far away from her and said helplessly, “Sect Leader Du, please calm down and listen to my explanation first!”

“What is there to explain? You didn’t marry him formally and legally yet you dare to insult his innocence and make him give birth to your child without title and status? Are you bullying him because he has no one to back him up?” Du Huashang was really furious. She was thinking of taking care of this child just now, but in the blink of an eye she found out that he had been bullied! She was really itching to (wished that she could) crippled this person so with this thought in mind, she swung her hand and sent dozens of embroidery needles flying out of her sleeve.

Xiao Yu Heng leaped away and dodged in a hurry. There was unspeakable bitterness (difficulty) in his heart, it was okay if it was really his own doing, but unfortunately, it really wasn’t his doing, still had to be chased and beaten like this by her!

“You guys…don’t fight anymore!” He Ling held his stomach and anxiously stamped his foot but was unable to intervene. This matter could be properly talked over, why said fight then they really fight? This so-called aunt of his, at least listen to him to finish the words ah!

His head became even more dizzy when he was in a hurry. He raised his hand to cover his forehead, not knowing if it was because his hand was too cold so his head temperature seemed to be a little hotter than before. He coughed lightly twice and felt like he was not going to be able to see clearly their fighting figures.

“Ah Ling!”

From the distance, there was a call that he would never forget for this lifetime so he turned around excitedly to see the person who could relieve him and make him feel at ease, coming over here, riding on a horse through the drifting snow, just as always attracting people’s attention to look at him.

In Qi Yue’s eyes, at this very moment, it was as if he could only hold (to accommodate / to be filled with) that one person standing in the snow; he didn’t even wait for the horse to walk over there, he immediately leapt out of the horse, jumped down, stood in front of him and took him into his embrace. This kind of real touch, finally he could put down the heart he had been holding.

His state of anxiety and physical discomfort of the last few days turned into full of grief at the sight of the person he knew the best, so he buried his face in his chest and choked out a sob.

The two of them who were in the middle of a fierce fight, noticed the situation and each of them withdrew their hands. Xiao Yu Heng looked at both of them who were hugging each other closely and his heart suddenly seemed to be empty. He laughed at himself as he lowered his head and said to the woman who was full of surprise, “Someone’s husband has come over, so my injustice can be cleared (proved as not guilty) right?”

Du Huashang saw clearly the person who was holding He Ling and turned to him with a wrinkled brow, “Isn’t that Qi Yue? That sage doctor (who was highly skilled in medicine and poison) who wiped out a sect and then disappeared without a trace?”

“Exactly, it’s him!” Xiao Yu Heng put his sword back to his waist. Back to his careless and casual self again, he said, “Isn’t it great that such a renowned person has become your nephew?”

Du Huashang glared at him, then turned her face away. She looked at the two people over there with mixed feelings, if it was that person, she would not be able to win against him if her own nephew was bullied in the future.

Once his excitement had calmed down, Qi Yue immediately sensed that something was wrong with the person in his arms. He pushed away the person a little, stretched out his hand and put it into his forehead. In a flash, his expression was not looking very good, “You’re having a fever?”

He Ling nodded his head while his mind was in a muddled state, feeling that the other person’s hand was slightly cold and comfortable to be put on his face, “It’s been a few days. It’s been going back and forth yet, it’s not completely recovered.”

Qi Yue therefore knew that once he was not by his little Fu Lang’s side, the other party would certainly not be well taken care of, so he bent down and carried him into his embrace, kissing his forehead, “Ah Ling has suffered. It’s this Wei Fu (your husband) who has failed to protect you.”

He Ling shook his head and snuggled into his embrace. In this world, there was no better husband than him, “Xiao Gongzi has been taking care of me these few days, already gotten much better.”

When he heard that his Fu Lang was being taken care of by someone else, Qi Yue wasn’t happy about that. He finally was willing to take his eyes off the other party and looked at those people present there. The presence of Du Huashang surprised him a little but as he wasn’t very familiar with her so he didn’t ask much and only put his attention on Xiao Yu Heng and questioned him, “How did you take care of him?”

“In all honesty, he was already sick when I found him!” Xiao Yu Heng loosened his grip and shrugged his shoulders. He felt wronged (accused wrongly) to the core, “I arrived just in time.”

“Xiang Gong, what Xiao Gongzi has done is already very good!” He Ling tugged at his clothes, if it wasn’t for the other person, he was afraid that he would have been harrassed by that man, he was very grateful to him.

Qi Yue wanted to ask him what had happened all these days, but he knew that now was not the time, nor was this the right place to talk, A Ling was still sick and had to find a place for him to rest first.

As if he could see what was on his mind, Xiao Yu Heng opened his mouth and said, “We better rush to the town now. We can talk about everything there. Moreover, we need to properly talk about the matter of Sect Leader Du and Ling Ge’er too.”

What possible matter could there be between her and his Fu Lang? Qi Yue looked at her a few more times, but found out that the other side was not looking at him in a friendly way. He did not feel that he had anything against her, so he turned his eyes away and paid no more attention to her.

When they left, Qi Yue naturally had to stay by He Ling’s side and look after him personally. He then drove Xiao Yu Heng away outside to ride on the horse, while Du Huashang had her own carriage and followed behind them.

As soon as He Ling got into the carriage, somehow he couldn’t hold on any longer. He was carried in his arms and fell asleep. He gazed at his frowning brow and felt heartache / very distressed. In the future, he would never let Ah Ling out of his sight for every moment.

The carriage’s speed was much slower than riding a horse but at least they arrived on time before the sky was getting dark in the small town where Qi Yue had been staying before. He found the best inn in town and took He Ling to his room and put him there. He got up and went to Xiao Yu Heng’s place. He still had to explain to him how he ended up being together with his Fu Lang?

He lifted the lower hem of his coat, sat down beside the table and said, “Now then, isn’t it time for us to talk about everything in detail?”

Xiao Yu Heng poured a cup of tea and placed it in front of him, watching him take an unhurried sip, only then he said, “Those assassins who attacked you came from my pavilion.”

Qi Yue’s hand paused as he drank the tea, then he placed the cup on the table with a thud, “Your building even dares to take (accept the mission / order) on my matter? Could it be that you are thinking of money to the point that you have become crazy!?”

“I don’t know anything about this matter!” Xiao Yu Heng scratched his nose embarrassingly .This time it was really his fault, the other party just saved his life (not a long time ago) yet his subordinates had captured his Fu Lang.

“Humph, I’ll keep this account (debt) for now! Don’t think that you can clear it off by saying that you don’t know. Is that why you retrieved Ah Ling from your subordinates and brought him here?”

“Not exactly like that, on the night when he was captured he escaped using the medicine you gave him and ran away alone for several days…” On these days of interacting with each other, the other party told Xiao Yu Heng briefly what had happened, while feeling that his subordinates were useless, at the same time he felt a little distressed for him, “When I found him, he was being pestered by a pampered young master, and after saving him, I brought him to seek for you!”

Alone in that kind of cold weather circumstance, to be alarmed and frightened, If Mu Yan did not go after him, if only relied on both of his legs, perhaps he would freeze to death in the wilderness.

Qi Yue only felt pain in his heart, how scared and desperate his little Fu Lang was when he was running away with his child in his belly. Moreover, he himself had not been able to be by his side.

“The person who came to hire the killer was very cautious and did not reveal his identity, but my men still found some traces (蛛丝马迹: lit. spider’s thread and horse track), perhaps you will understand who it is after reading it!” Xiao Yu Heng took out a note from his sleeve, placed it on the table and pushed it in front of him.

Qi Yue took another sip of tea before picking up the note and unfolding it. After reading the contents, he raised his eyebrows as he came to understand it, obviously knowing who the other party was.

He laughed scornfully as he placed that one slip of paper on the candle flame and burned it, tossing it on the ground and letting it burn to ashes, “This matter, I also hope no more people know about it!”

“Don’t worry, I still have this kind of common sense.” Xiao Yu Heng hooked his lips and smiled at him, since he had to return the favor, then he had to do so thoroughly.

The main matters that should be talked about had already been talked about. Another matter was also on Qi Yue’s mind all the way here as he said, “What’s the matter with that Sect Leader Du? Why is she following us?”

“This matter is complicated one!” Xiao Yu Heng felt that many coincidences that had happened earlier were like a storybook, “It’s not appropriate for me to say it, it is better to wait until later and let her come to tell you and explain it herself.”

Remembering what he (XYH) had previously said that it was related to his family Fu Lang, only then Qi Yue would ask this question here and now. Now the other party had said so, he also did not ask any more questions, since what he should know he would naturally know anyway.

Thinking of He Ling who was still in the room, Qi Yue also didn’t plan to stay any longer. He stood up and planned to leave, when he pulled open the door, as if he had just remembered something, he titled his head and said, “It’s not the doing of a gentleman (man of moral integrity) to keep thinking of someone else’s Fu Lang. Xiao Shao LouZhu should respect (自重: conduct oneself with dignity; self control) himself!”

As soon as he finished speaking, he took a step and left the room. Xiao Yu Heng remained staring blankly at the open door of the room for a long time. He covered his face and lowered his head, letting out a low chuckle. That person’s eyes were vicious just as in the past. He thought that he didn’t reveal anything in front of him, yet he still saw it.

When he had laughed enough, he put down his hand and raised his head. Something was settled and deep down in his eyes there was unreadable emotion. He stood up and closed the door of the room, leaving the soft sound of the door being closed behind, completely separating the outside from the inside. What was the point of taking something that didn’t belong to him? It would be better to stand from a far distance at the beginning and quietly admire it. Perhaps it could still have left a good and beautiful impression on the other person’s heart.

Tl here: I didn’t expect that Xiao Yu Heng would have a feeling for He Ling, but I really like his characters (beside Qi Yue of course) and especially this chapter~
