AU Villain Deku

Chapter 5 - Hero costume

I try to think how I can fight villains, I have a thought that I can use support items if I don't have a quirk. I start to mumble to myself ideas. I need something that can restrain but not kill.

I start drawing up blueprints, after blueprints. Looking over my notes on heroes and villains, looking at the support equipment on they use and the theory behind it, along with the help from online support rooms specialising in equipment and books on physics and other related items. I create a draft on the support item I can use. I start to create a route on tech companies specialising in hero support items every few days, They get rid of their junk at the end of the day, I check it after everyone has left, grabbing bits and pieces that I could find.

One day, a person was working overtime on one of their projects, they asked who I was and what the hell I was doing, I told them that my friend is an aspiring hero but he has a problem controlling the temperature he puts out. She understood me and even gave me advise on how to use sensors to help detect body changes, from temperature, to muscles. Because of the notes they wrote for me I have a better understanding on how to implement sensors for my support item. I cant create something scratch but I can re purpose the parts thrown away, fix them and make them better.

Weeks pass and then months. I finally have a prototype on my equipment. I just need one more part. I managed to salvage nickle and titanium from certain components. I make a makeshift crucible, and melt it down. Using accurate ratios, over time, through trial and error I create a type of Nitinol compound, I separate it into small threads twisting and braiding it into a small wire. These wires were almost the size of a thread, I tried to make it as small as possible. When I did this, I then started the braiding process which strengthened the wire whilst keeping the original flexibility and properties. This wire is light, extremely flexible and has a muscle memory effect. This allows for accurate movements.

I connect the wire to a pair of heavy duty gloves in order to prevent friction on my skin. The prototype works by sensing muscle contractions in my hand, wrist and forearm through sensors detecting muscle contractions for accurate information. This information is then relayed to a computer, through certain contractions its sent through a macro to perform certain movements with the wire through electrical impulses from a battery, it can revert to its original form through temperature as its one of the properties of Nitinol, because of this, its possible to super heat the wire, to also tighten and constrict movement. This allows for the wires to move based on my muscle control.

During this process, I kept up my strength training, I also applied for UA, however I've heard nothing back from them. Of course you need a quirk and referrer to help you get past the application stage. I will show them that I can be a hero. I spend weeks and even more time, practising the movements of the wire. There are of course bugs, such as the friction affecting the other structures, causing it to freeze up. I added more mechanism and changed the macros around in order to correct these bugs. Some even to the point of changing the materials as it might not able to handle the friction of the wire. I added a temperature control device in the wire coil in order to prevent the Nitinol from randomly retracting to its original form because of the friction, this process took the most time in order to fix.

I start to alter my workout routine in order to include the gloves, this is so that I can gain more improvement with it whilst doing free range exercises. I begin simply by grabbing objects and pulling them towards me, retracting the wires in the process. I could count dozens if not hundreds of bottles that I have smashed in the process, one accident with my muscle control can completely change what I want to do with the gloves. Even when I start the exercises I accidentally trigger the gloves, because of this I decided to add a safety mechanism for when I'm trying to do something else, this is a simple switch on top of each of the gloves, pressing allows for the wires to start to move under my control. Slowly I got better with them. Each day, improvements rise, and my failures start to get smaller and smaller. To the point where my mistakes are related to something other than me, such as an external stimulus or a bug within the programming.

Along with the support gloves, I created a black and green suit in order to support and augment my abilities. Light weight but strong material to act as defence for if I were attacked by a villain and a small exoskeleton, to temporarily enhance my abilities, this uses an extreme amount of energy from the core, so it can only be used for a few seconds to be able to dodge. If the energy wears out, I wont be able to use my gloves either, so its for emergency situations.

The orange core that supplies my gloves and manoeuvre gear, its the weakest point on my hero costume, so its covered with a protective layer of the left over titanium I used for the wire, to cover it to the point where it cant be damaged by Villains, this part weighs me down so I need to take it into account when manoeuvring.

And finally, I created a face mask to protect myself, Its a full faced mask with a smile drawn onto it like All mights to give people hope. The mask itself is made from a bulletproof glass, tinted on the outside in order to not show my face. The costume itself is dark, mixed with green. It's black in order to camouflage myself, in order to stop villains at night. I don't like breaking the law but in order to become a hero, I need to prove myself, the easiest way to do that is through vigilantism.
