Assassin Initiate

I slowly started to wake up from the sleepiness caused by animus. I tried to open my eyes, then suddenly,

"Scanning Host..."

The same A.I voice spoke in my mind.

"Match found...Establishing connection..."

"Connection failed....Low support ability."

"Partial connection possible, continue??"

When the question came, I 'saw' a dialogue popped up with a and on it. The dialogue was white with faint blue around the corners. The and were black. After thinking this through I chose to go with , but how do I select it? Let's just try to concentrate. After a while, got chosen.

"Preparing the partial connection...Connection established....Continuing....."

During the whole process, I felt my body getting numb. My whole body went numb. Then suddenly, I felt like something was pumping, other than my blood, in my veins. This process went for sometime, getting numb, regaining it, again getting numb, then regaining the senses.

"The partial connection to the Host is established. Due to only being partial connection, Most of the functions will be locked till further progress...."

The voice said in my head. I then felt my whole body and then slowly opened my eyes. The animus visor was still on but was glowing now. The whole visor then started to morph just like the animus. Watching this happening so close to eyes was scary but also....awesome. The visor slowly started to disappear but only its right side disappeared. The glass on the left side also shrunk a little, and became the size just covering my eye. The whole visor disappeared only leaving a monocle on my left eye.

Seeing everything is over, I sat up and called out to Jane. She came afterwards with a tray with a glass of water. Ah, my maid is really good. When Jane entered the room, she also noticed that Jane had a monocle on his left eye. It was rectangle shaped with no borders on three sides. The only side which had the frame was the right side one and that seems to support the whole monocle using the single temple. Why does this seems so familiar.

"Young Master, here have some water. You were in the animus for nearly an hour. I hope you liked this surprise."

"Thanks Jane." I took the glass and quenched my thirst.

"But, what was the surprise??" I asked in confusion.

"Oh?? You didn't get it?? Hmm... I guess you didn't saw that much. But first, what's with this monocle you are wearing??" Jane said in surprise.

"I don't know, the animus visor just became like this." I said while taking off the monocle.

"Hmm, that's unexpected." Jane took the monocle from my hands and started inspecting it. She mumbled "Interesting....how....why...." while inspecting it. She wore it, flipped it, tapped it here and there etc. At last she gave it to me and said,

"Sorry Young Master, I can't find its uses. But the tech by which it was made, is of the same structure as that of animus."

"Well, if you can't find about it then leave it. But tell me, can this be considered as a Piece of Eden??" I asked. The reason I asked it is because I don't know anything about the Pieces of Eden.

"No, Young Master, Pieces of Eden are much more hi-tech than this. I can't describe it to you cause even if I start it's explanation, you won't understand a thing." Jane said to me. But, more hi-tech than this, I can't even figure out what this is, who knows what a Piece of Eden is.

"Young Master, I recommend you wear it because, if it became like this due to a reason, it might be you." When Jane said this, I remember the voice in my head.

I wore it hesitatingly. After a few seconds, nothing happened. I was going to take it off once again, but suddenly,

"Established partial connection activating....."

The same voice came back. I looked towards Jane but it looks like she was not able to hear that voice.

"Jane, there's a voice in my head, and saying something about a partial connection." I said to Jane.

"As expected. For now, just continue Young master, we will discuss this later, I think you should focus on that more." When Jane said so, the voice in my head spoke up once again,

"Connection activated.....Displaying unlocked functions..." When this happened, a message box opened in front of me, or to b precise, on the monocle. There was a menu kind of display with only one tab named Abilities displaying items. I ran my eyes on it, and only three items were there. Those were,

1)- Free running(Parkour)

2)- Dual-Sword wielding(one short, one long)

3)- Ship's Captain

These 'abilities' were with a picture of a man. Looking closely, the man resembled Shay Cormac of the animus, and those three 'abilities' were at the top level. There were other levels below them with blank picture and their description as '???'. Those blank pictures has a line connecting them with the pictures of the above level. I guess these were the pre requisites for the unknown abilities. At the right corner, there was a points counter like 'Skill Points :- 1' with one there. Those 'abilities also have the 'cost' written in there description. The costs were, Parkour was 1 point ans the other two were 2 and 3 points respectively. I chose Parkour as a test. The box then changed and a confirmation box appeared.

"Do you really want to get this item??"

I chose the and the whole display went off. Then I felt a sharp thin thing penetrating my side temple. I just felt it but surprisingly, there was no pain. But, still thinking that there was a foreign object entering my head made me afraid. I tried to ask for help from Jane and saw that she was completely standing still with a calm look on her face with her gaze on me. Watching her this calm, I also calmed down. When the penetrating object stopped, I found myself gazing at the few memories flashing by. When I focused, I found Shay. He looks like he just started climbing and free running. These pictures flashed by and I slowly found myself again sitting on the animus. Jane still looking at me. That experience just looked like it was a daydream. But, I knew it was not, more like I 'feel' it was not dream. I currently feel completely different from just a moment ago. It is same as when I first met Jane and entered the animus there. I just can't put my finger on it.

"How are you feeling Young Master?" Jane's concerned voice broke me out of my contemplation. I looked at her once again and saw that her eyes were filled with worry, completely different from before. It looks like a changed person. But I know, Jane is still Jane. I smiled at her and said,

"Don't worry, I'm okay."

Hearing me say this, She sighed in relief, but then a smile blossomed on her face. Looking closely, her smile was not really a sweet smile, but more in the mischievous side. Looking at it I knew that this woman must be thinking something troublesome.

"Now, that you said you are okay, I guess we can go out."

And that gave me bad feeling.

"Why??"

"Because I think Young Master, you got something new, and I feel like you want to try it. And as your maid, it's my duty to understand her master."

She got me there, I was feeling like going out. This maid of mine is sharp. But I still can't understand her motive behind this. But I trust her, or on my subconscious mind. Now that I remembered it,

"First tell me Jane, when we first met. Why did you hugged me so suddenly??"
