An Inevitable Fate?

Chapter 90 - 90: Home is where your husband is. (7)

Aaron rubbed his forehead. He had not called her or picked her calls mainly because of this. He knew his mom would go all insane about the news and make things difficult by pressuring him and herself.

"Mom, calm down, will you?"

Gina was out of breath due to her anger. Her son got married without consulting his family and he wants her to be calm?

Like hell!

"Do you have any idea what you have done? Did you think about your father even for a moment before doing this?"

Aaron tightened his finger around the phone. His father. Yes, how could he possibly forget him? He would have to face his father and suffer the consequences for his actions but even if he had a second chance, he would still do the same!

He would go to the end of the world for Rachel.

It didn't matter if she used him. He would do anything and everything for her.

"Are you even listening?!"

His mother shouted on the other side. He had got lost in his thoughts!

"Mom, don't worry. I will take care of my dad."

He was not a twenty years old boy who used to listen to his father's demand and yield to his blackmails.

There was a pause on the other end. Aaron understood his mother well.

She was probably struggling hard not to break out.

"Sigh! Son, don't make me choose."

Aaron raised his eyebrows.

"And, what if you have to?"

"Of course, I will choose you! Who wants to be with that old man! All he cares about is his business and reputation. Lee Industries is that old man's concubine! Anyways, he already eats and sleeps with that, why should I disturb him? I will live with my kids. I don't need him."

Aaron laughed out loudly.

Who was that person who asked him not to make them choose?

It was hard to believe that his parents' marriage was a love marriage. They never showed love to each other at all!

His father was always busy with the company, neglecting his family all the time.

It was his mother who basically did everything to him and to his brother. He really didn't have many memories of spending time with his father.

But he knew, his mother loved her husband more than anything. She was just trying to support him.

In fact, she had always supported him in spite of his father's opposition. He was really lucky to have this wonderful woman by his side.

"So, where is my daughter-in-law?"

What?! Wasn't she nagging about his marriage?

"You accepted her already?"

"I had accepted her long back! Who wouldn't like such a sweet and pretty girl? I want to see her now itself! Oh no, it's late. Where are you both? Come home tomorrow, I want my daughter-in-law."

Ufff! His mother!

"Mom, not tomorrow. I need to go to the office. I have-"

"Who asked you to stay? Just drop her off tomorrow and you go on your way."

"...?"

Seriously?

Sigh! He should have expected this from his mother.

"Alright, tomorrow."

He ended the call with a smile. He shook his head and went up to his room.

Knock!

A sudden knock came from the outside of the bathroom door. Rachel jolted back from her thoughts.

She hastily walked and opened the door only to find Aaron in his sleepwear.

He was holding a set of clean clothes that originally belonged to him.

"I thought you might need some clothes to change. These are mine, just adjust for today."

He looked so normal as if it was their daily routine. But Rachel was struggling to wrap her head around the situation.

She thanked him and took the clothes before closing the door.

After placing them on the washstand, she took off her jeans and a shirt and entered the shower.

The hot water splashed across her body, wiping the sweat. Her tensed and worn out muscles relaxed under the shower.

She didn't have an option but to use his shampoo and conditioner to wash her hair. The body wash had a pleasant odor that didn't match his personality.

After rinsing off the soap from her body, she stepped out of the shower. Taking a clean white bath towel, she wiped her body clean and tied it around her c.h.e.s.t.

Walking towards the washstand, she unfolded the clothes and her mouth went wide open.

The sports shorts were of decent size and big enough to cover her knees but the t-shirt was too thin!

And it was white in color!

She couldn't wear this without an innerwear but she didn't have an extra pair.

She cursed under her breath for leaving the home without taking her clothes. Furthermore, she should have stayed with Crysta!

Why the hell was she here struggling with clothes in the bathroom?

Sigh, life was hard.

She made sure to tighten the towel around her and slightly opened the door.

To her surprise, Aaron was in the room, changing the bedsheets. For some reason, he looked like a house-husband for her.

But it wasn't the right time to appreciate it.
