An Inevitable Fate?

Chapter 59 - 59: There's no future for us. (22)

The anger was engulfing Colin like a tornado. He felt a burning sensation in his body that made it difficult for him to breathe. He wanted to scream but the voice was not coming out! His throat was getting dry.

Suddenly, a black color covered his eyes and he fainted! His body fell on the ground with a loud thud! The chit-chatting noise coming from the crowd became silent. The whole banquet hall had a graveyard silence.

"Dad!"

Rachel ran towards Colin. She shook his body calling his name but he didn't open his eyes.

"Dad, can you hear me? Wake up! Dad, please, open your eyes!"

Tears rolled from her eyes like a river. No matter how much she spoke, Colin didn't respond.

By the time Aaron, Jane, and Darren along with Kenly made it to the stage, Colin's body was covered with sweat.

"Don't panic," Aaron said to Rachel.

But she didn't even acknowledge him. Tears kept rolling on her cheeks.

"Dad, wake up! Sis, what happened to him. Sis, wake him up please!"

Jane started to cry. This was the first time, she was seeing her dad showing his weakness. This wasn't her dad. Her dad was strong, so strong!

Rachel wanted to calm Jane but failed. She, herself wasn't able to calm down.

"Let's take him to the hospital."

Kenly, Colin's manager, spoke and stood up to call an ambulance.

Soon the ambulance came and carried Colin away. In the ambulance, Rachel held his hand tightly.

She kept praying to god. She thought that she would die of guilt if anything were to happen to Colin. After all, it was her fault that led him to this state.

Beside her, Kenly was sitting. He patted Rachel's back, gently.

"Don't worry, he will be fine."

She nodded, still looking at Colin's pale face.

The ambulance reached the hospital within a few minutes. They had informed the doctor earlier. Hence, the doctor was waiting for them at the entrance.

They quickly opened the door and wheeled out Colin, who was still unconscious with an oxygen mask on.

The doctor quickly did the pulse reading and instructed them to take him to the emergency room.

Behind Rachel and Kenly, Jane came with Aaron and Darren.

Now that they took Colin inside, the corridor was filled with dead silence except for Jane's crying.

Rachel stood there, holding Jane in her arms.

"Sis, I'm scared," Jane spoke in between her crying.

'I am scared too,'

Rachel wanted to tell but swallowed her words. She needed to be strong now.

"Shh, don't worry. Nothing will happen to dad."

Darren removed his coat and walked towards the girls. He gently dr.a.p.ed it over their shoulders.

Rachel looked up and saw his caring eyes. Immediately, her guilt became tenfold.

Even after seeing those photos, he was still here, by her side, caring for her. How she wished to burn herself and disappear from the world.

Seeing Darren being close to Rachel, Aaron wanted to kill that bastard. He was playing a saint role in spite of being a demon.

Still, he controlled his anger. He was well aware that this was not the best time to quarrel with Darren.

"Rachel!"

Crysta dashed towards Rachel and hugged her.

"I'm sorry, I couldn't inform you." Rachel sobbed.

Crysta rolled her eyes.

"Shut up, girl. How is uncle?"

"They haven't come out yet,"

"Did you inform your mom?"

Rachel shook her head. She knew her mom might end up fainting as well if she hears the news.

"Okay, okay. Let's keep it that way. We will know the condition first and inform aunt later."

Rachel nodded and hugged her best friend.

"Bro," Alan along with Jane's friends came to the hospital. Crysta had also come with them.

"How did you know I was here?"

Aaron frowned.

"I... was at the banquet,"

Alan spoke sheepily.

"I never saw you there."

"...?!" Alan wanted to shout at his brother.

'You should have let your eyes roam everywhere to notice others. But your eyes were fixed on Rachel, how could you possibly notice people like us!'

"You were busy I guess, haha!" Alan spoke, trying to cover up his embarrassment.

"No, I just didn't see you. " Aaron deadpanned.

'Come on bro! My friends are here!'

They would tease him even more. Especially that Edwin!

Just as he was about to voice out his thoughts, a fair hand held his brother's arm and spun him around.

Before Aaron could think what was going on, a loud crisp sound echoed in the silent corridor.
