An Inevitable Fate?

Chapter 32 - 32: A little secret (5)

"Let's go?" Aaron asked.

Even though Rachel didn't want to go with him, she didn't have any other choice.

She nodded and followed him out.

Seeing the Benz car, she froze. Damn it! Why didn't she try to steal it? She could have somehow searched for the keys and could have gone home by now.

Shit! She chided herself for not thinking this before.

Seeing her face itself Aaron guessed what could be the reason.

"It's too late for that. Get in" He went and sat in the driver's seat.

Rachel stuck her tongue out at him before entering the car.

Inside the car, she sat upright like a lady. All descent.

But Aaron had seen her sticking her tongue out in the mirror. He chuckled but didn't tease her.

The car journey was filled with silence. Aaron didn't mind her being silent as he was happy enough with her presence itself.

After driving for almost an hour, the car reached the mansion.

Rachel was about to leave but Aaron stopped her by holding her wrist.

She shot him a look. Annoying.

"Your family doesn't know that you were with me all this time. They were informed that you would be with Darren. Keep this as a secret from them. Though I don't mind you telling them."

Rachel sat there like a statue. She didn't know how to react to that.

"Then why didn't you take me back to my house?" She still didn't understand this. Why would he do that?

"I didn't know the address." As simple as that!

Rachel frowned. She thought something was missing but couldn't tell what.

At the same time, a car was parked at a distance. A person inside the car was fuming. F*ck!

Aaron noticed the car and smirked.

"Do you want to stay a little longer with me?" He asked Rachel jokingly.

Rachel, who was in her own world got stunned. She immediately got down from the car and slammed the door.

'What did the car do to you?' Aaron mumbled and left.

Rachel was analyzing his excuse. 'I didn't know the address... I didn't know... the... address.' She gasped.

Now she understood what was missing. Damn it. He had again lied to her. What did he mean by that? Huh? Then how did he drive now? Upon that... he had come to her engagement party!

What a big fat liar!

After scolding him to her heart's content, Rachel was about to go in but a man blocked her path.

"Darren?" She widened her eyes. Why was he here?

"Uhm... I'm sorry, Rachel. I couldn't come to pick you up. I... I was quite busy with some office work."

"I had asked your friend, Mr.Lee to go to you. He didn't... cause any problem to you, right?"

He asked after hesitating a lot. After all, he had done such a shameful thing. He wasn't sure if Aaron had told her or not.

Rachel, who couldn't speak due to shock, just nodded her head in response. He was relieved.

"Let's go in. Your parents are waiting."

Rachel was in disbelief. So... what Aaron had told her was the truth? But...

As soon as they went inside, a cheerful voice greeted them.

"Sister-in-law!"

Rachel's mood also improved after seeing this happy-go-lucky girl.

"Brother-in-law," Jane politely addressed him.

"Hmm," He smiled.

Hooking her arm with Rachel's, she asked,

"Ah? Brother-in-law, why do you have dark circles?" Darren's smile froze.

Because of the photo and the message sent by Aaron, he couldn't even breathe properly, let alone sleep. Hence, two eye-bags were formed.

"I was busy."

Yes, he was indeed busy in tracking the time. That scheming guy had asked him to be ready at 8 AM near Rachel's home. If not, he was said that his photo with that bitch, Cindy, would be given to Rachel's parents. But who knew, he would get fooled. Not only didn't he sleep but he also waited for them for almost 2 hours.

Those two hours were like hell to him. Waiting for them, made him feel like a watchdog. He was humiliated.

"Oh? Busy doing what?" Jane sized him up and down.

This time, not only Darren's but also, Rachel's body tensed up.

"Busy taking care of your sister?" It came out almost like a question. He, himself wasn't convinced.

"Mmm..." Before Jane could continue with her interrogation, her parents stopped her.

"What? I was just curious." She rolled her eyes at her parents' shoutings.

"Yeah, yeah. We know. Let them in first. Later you can continue." Gabriel teased her daughter.

Ufff.

Rachel and Darren, both breathed out a sigh of relief. But their peace lasted only for a few seconds.

"Rachel?"

Behind them, Crysta's voice rang. Sigh! Another drama?
