“I see him. Holy heck, was he the school’s elite?”

“Affiliated School’s number one,” Li Shuangjiang affirmed, “I went to the office to get the papers this morning and overheard the old man say so.”

“And he’s also handsome, I’d get hard to pay my respects to that brother.”

Tao Zhi, “…”

These people are hopeless.

Tao Zhi couldn’t listen anymore and raised her head.

Li Shuangjiang and his deskmate still kept half of their bodies turned, in a position that they thought made them look handsome.

Tao Zhi, “Your voices are a bit loud.”

“…”

“I could hear it even from here,” Tao Zhi said blankly as it was her habit when she was upset, “including the handsome guy at the back row who makes your crotch salute.”

Her petite deskmate’s shoulders trembled again in a timely manner.

The two people in the front row subconsciously looked past her and glanced back.

The school elite was not seated upright and proper like a school boy as they had imagined. He supported his chin with one hand and flipped the pages of his book with his other hand. He noticed their gaze on him and he lifted his eyelids, glancing over.

“…”

Li Shuangjiang’s whole body was chilled by his gaze. After slightly jittering, he turned his head along with his deskmate.

Physics class was Tao Zhi’s self-proclaimed, ‘best subject to sleep in like no other’. It was also the first lesson of her Monday classes, which was early in the morning where most people would still be sleepy. Hence, Tao Zhi drifted off soundly.

Even Wrinkly Wang’s loud voice failed to wake her up.

By the time she was awoken by the sound of the bell and opened her eyes, morning was long gone and it was lunch break. Tao Zhi sat up in a daze, raising her hands and patting her drowsy eyes to regain her consciousness.

The classroom was basically empty, with only a few other students left. Tao Zhi turned her head to the side and saw Fu Xiling still seated.

“Why didn’t you go have lunch?” Tao Zhi asked her.

The little girl looked a little embarrassed, “You were asleep.”

Tao Zhi reacted before he understood what she meant.

She was sitting on the outer seat, which meant she had to make way for her deskmate if she wanted to go out.

“I’m a little blurry from my sleep, I’m sorry,” Tao Zhi muttered while giving her some space. She just got up and remembered something, “Then, you didn’t go to the bathroom this morning?”

The little girl blushed directly, “No, I didn’t need to go…”

Tao Zhi blinked. Just as she was about to speak, someone called her from the back door of the classroom.

She stretched before walking over.  Song Jiang was grabbing the frame of the back door and stretching his neck to look inside.

Tao Zhi dragged him back by the collar of his school uniform, “Come on, Timely Rain(1), what is there to see?”

(T/N: Timely Rain means a person who can provide rescue or help when you need them most. FL probably calls him that because he was someone who could rush to her aid at all times)

“I’m looking to see if there are any pretty little ladies here. The girl you just talked to— she looks good. Does she have a partner, or can you introduce her to me?” Song Jiang was dragged forward. The zipper of his uniform jacket was not zipped up, but with a tug, Tao Zhi had pulled it down quite a lot, “Stop pulling it, stop pulling it, ancestor. My clothes are going to fall off. What would people think of us, pulling and tugging in the corridor?”

“I’m hungry,” Eating was the most enjoyable part of waking up and Tao Zhi finally felt a little better. She jumped forward twice while urging him, “Hurry up, let’s go for lunch.”
