Chapter 76: Ye Jin’s Request

The day after the banquet, StarNet was swiped by Ye Jin’s dishes at the state banquet. The hot searches were all about licking the screen and drooling. Many people are still asking Ye Jin on StarNet if they can taste the dishes at the state banquet.

Ye Jin looked at His Majesty, who was in a hurry regardless of his manners; his heart was more curious about what had happened. His mind was racing with questions about what his majesty had warned him about—was something that had happened just now related to him, and was that why he was told not to run around?

Although the heart is doubtful, he also knows that many things should not be asked, so he can only bear to sit in place and wait for Fu Chen to come pick him up.

It was only an hour later that Ye Jin saw Fu Chen and the two columns of soldiers behind him. However, Fu Chen’s face was no longer the gentle and doting one when he was with him in the past, leaving only a face full of sternness and cold air, making Ye Jin more or less unaccustomed to such Fu Chen and at the same time worried about what had happened and why it felt like everyone had seen the enemy.

Ye Jin looked at Fu Chen worriedly and reached out to pull his hand, “What’s wrong? Is there something big happening? Why are there suddenly so many soldiers guarding, ah?”

Fu Chen looked at Ye Jin’s worried expression and very concerned eyes, and silently took his hand and kissed it and comforted in a low voice: “Don’t worry, it’s just a little bit of a mess. A criminal escaped, but it will be solved soon. Now so many people are transferred just in case, in case the fugitive wants to attack you, it’s not good, after all, what if they hurt my lover?” 

Fu Chen’s serious expression on his face retreated a little as he said the sappy romantic words.

When Ye Jin heard this, there was a momentary heat on his face. He then looked at Fu Chen worriedly and said, “Did the fugitive have a grudge with you? That’s why you worry about the other party starting with me. Don’t worry, I will stay at home. I promise not to mess around or cause you trouble.” Ye Jin softly assured him while kissing Fu Chen on the cheek.

Fu Chen looked at Ye Jin with deep eyes for a while and then hugged Ye Jin tightly in his arms. The strength in his hands seemed to crush Ye Jin and insert it into his chest. Ye Jin felt Fu Chen’s strong arms. 

Although he was strangled, he did not speak. Instead, he stretched out his hand to comfort and pat Fu Chen on the back. It was not until a long time later that Fu Chen relaxed the strength in his hand and walked slowly towards the door of the palace, holding Ye Jin’s hand.

Fu Chen continued to hold Ye Jin’s hand as they left the palace and continued along the avenue. Looking at the sudden increase in soldiers and the formation that everyone was waiting for, Ye Jin couldn’t help but beat the drums in his heart. This formation didn’t look like there was any chaos at all. Ye Jin was uneasy and thought Fu Chen was keeping something from him.

Ye Jin stared at Fu Chen until he boarded the suspension car, but the latter’s expression remained unchanged. He opened his mouth several times to ask something but didn’t know how to ask. He could only wait for Fu Chen to tell him.

Fu Chen looked at Ye Jin, who looked worried and stopped talking. His eyes flashed. He still didn’t plan to tell him the truth. He just comforted him: “Xiao Jin, can you trust me? Nothing bad will happen.  You go live with my grandfather at home for a while; this is also to protect your safety.”

Ye Jin nodded in silence, and the two returned to Ye’s house silently all the way. Old Man Ye himself picked up Ye Jin, and upon seeing the two of them together in silence, he sighed inwardly. 

Then he smiled and said to Ye Jin, “Xiao Jin is here. Come and talk to this old man. You don’t know how no one has talked to this old man during your absence. This brat knows that he is busy with official duties all day long. If he hadn’t known to pick you up, I think he would have wanted to live in the military office every day.” 

Old Man Fu pestle his crutches angrily as he spoke.

“Grandpa, didn’t I just come to accompany you?  I have nothing to do lately and I’m not going to leave. So you can’t bother me and drive me away.” Ye Jin said, stepping forward and helping the old man into the door together.

Ye Jin was originally a little worried, but after seeing Old Man Fu’s actions, he was also happy. In fact, he could see that Old Man Fu was deliberately attracting his attention, but in order not to worry the old man, Ye Jin could only turn his attention away and coax the old man. But before entering the house, he still turned his head and glared at Fu Chen fiercely, which obviously meant to settle the account after the autumn.

Old Man Fu secretly glanced at the two of them. Seeing the interaction between Ye Jin and Fu Chen, he sighed helplessly. At the same time, he didn’t forget to pull Ye Jin to speak. As the two talked and laughed all the way to the door, Fu Chen was still at the door.
