Chapter 71: Proposal

After everyone returned to the room to rest in the evening, Ye Jin immediately sent a video request to Fu Chen. Today, Fu Chen’s sudden appearance made him forget to ask questions about the sale of shops and houses. It was only when he finally calmed down that Ye Jin remembered them.

On the other side, Fu Chen had just finished dealing with Ye Lin’an’s cousins who were looking for trouble. He originally planned to send a message to Ye Jin to ask him if he had slept, but he received a video request from Ye Jin.

Looking at the boy opposite the video, Fu Chen said softly with his eyes: “Why haven’t you slept yet? It’s so late already.”

Ye Jin looked at the gentle-looking man in the video, thinking of the things he had been silently doing for himself, the feeling in his heart was both complicated and warm. He couldn’t help but put a smile on his face, “I’m not very sleepy yet, my cousins didn’t embarrass you, did they?”

Fu Chen looked at Ye Jin with a soft expression, shook his head, and answered, “No, they just care about you inquiring about some information from me.”

Ye Jin looked at Fu Chen, who looked calm as usual, and knew that even if he was in trouble, he wouldn’t say anything. So he changed the subject and talked about the shop and Fuerxing’s house that he had always wanted to ask about.

“Cousin Lin’an told me that you helped me with the house I bought on Imperial Commercial Street, and so did selling my house in Fu’er Xing. If I ran by myself, I wouldn’t be able to come down for a month. Why did you put in so much effort to help me at that time?”  

Ye Jin was lying on the bed, holding his hand on his chin, and looking at Fu Chen. When he heard himself speaking of this subject in his mind while grinning, he assumed he appeared serious.

Ye Jin was still looking at Fu Chen and noticed that he stretched out his hand to touch the screen. He smiled softly, “That’s stupid.”

Fu Chen smiled disapprovingly and continued to portray the boy’s face on his hands. The two looked at each other silently until late at night. Ye Jin couldn’t hold on and fell asleep slowly, while Fu Chen just continued to look at the boy on the screen with gentle eyes. The sky had turned pale by this point.

Since Fu Chen and Ye Jin met the Ye family together, they have been staying at Ye Jin’s house with Ye Jin for three days. During these three days, in addition to learning cooking skills from several peers in the family, Ye Jin has been studying the use of existing medicinal materials to make medicinal meals together. 

Fu Chen was with Ye Jin all the time in his spare time, while Ye Lin’an and his cousins occasionally took Ye Jin away to make trouble together.

When Ye Jin returned to the restaurant, Fu Chen, Ye Lin’an, and Ye Xu followed him back. In addition to studying medicinal cuisine, Ye Jin taught a few apprentices. 

The days were as warm and dull as every day in the past, but one thing made Ye Jin very concerned: Fu Chen didn’t know what he was up to recently and often couldn’t see him; even Ye Lin’an was elusive.

As usual, Ye Jin used his free time on this day to teach a few apprentices how to cook new dishes. All of a sudden, Ye Lin’an grabbed his arm and dragged him straight to Ye’s family house. He was then ushered into the room and given a white suit to put on.

After Ye Jin changed into a white suit and put on a bow tie, he looked at his new look in the mirror. He didn’t know why he was a little nervous, but he already had a vague idea of what was happening in his heart.

While Ye Jin was looking in the mirror, Ye Linan’s voice boomed from outside the door: “Xiao Jin’er, have you changed it yet? If you don’t leave, it will be too late.”

Ye Jin quickly recovered and said, as he walked out, “Okay, okay, coming out now.” After speaking, Ye Jin opened the door of the room immediately.

Ye Lin’an looked at his little cousin’s well-fitting suit that outlined the lines of his body, grinned secretly. He then walked out without saying anything, pulling Ye Jin with him.

Ye Jin was pulled into the suspension car by Ye Linan all the way and asked with expectation and suspicion in his eyes, “Cousin, where are you taking me? I have to go back to my old house to change clothes. I’m still busy in the store.”

Ye Lin’an turned his head and glanced at his cousin’s expectant eyes angrily, then turned his head away in disgust: “Looking at your look of expectation, haven’t you guessed it already? Yet you still came to ask.”

Ye Jin stared at Ye Lin’an in surprise when he heard the words, and asked excitedly: “Really, cousin? Is she pretty? Why did you agree?”

Ye Lin’an stared intently at Ye Jin’s excited look. He couldn’t take his joy any longer and asked with a hatred that iron is not steel, “Do you like him that much? 

“Are you so happy when you guess you want to meet him? Are you not afraid of being deceived by him? What if he was just pretending in front of you just to play with you?”

Ye Jin glanced at Ye Lin’an a little confused when he heard Ye Lin’an’s words and said in confusion, “Cousin, what are you talking about? Don’t you like it the most? It’s you on a blind date, not me; I’m just a foil.”

Speaking of this, Ye Jin looked at Ye Lin’an curiously and asked, “But cousin, why did you suddenly agree to the blind date that your aunt said? You have to give me some information: does the other party look good?”

Ye Lin’an was sitting in the driver’s seat and had been holding the light brain to send some messages when he heard Ye Jin’s words. He tapped Ye Jin’s head with a wry smile and said, “Son of a bitch, what nonsense! Who said I’m going on a blind date? If I’m going on a blind date, why would I take you with me?”

Ye Jin looked at Ye Lin’an with question marks all over her head and asked in confusion, “Then why did you suddenly pull me back in a hurry and make me change my clothes?”

As he said it, he stared at Ye Lin’an and complained: “And look at yourself; you are also wearing a black suit. Besides, two days ago, my aunt said that I would accompany you to see Miss Qiao’s family.”

Ye Lin’an held his forehead with tears and laughter and said, “Okay, okay, my fault, my fault. Anyway, it’s not that I’m going on a blind date. You just follow me; so that I can sell you.”

While the two of them were talking, the suspension car had already stopped at the door of a shop, and the moment the car stopped, a robot came forward to help open the door.

After the two of them came to the store, Ye Jin took a closer look at the decoration of the store. It was very exquisite and romantic. Warm-colored lights covered the top of the head. The shop was surrounded by crystal-like transparent glass, and even the round table was made of this kind of very textured transparent material. The light from the top of the head poured down, and the obsidian-like ground and desktop exuded a faint light, which was very beautiful and romantic.

As Ye Jin looked around, Ye Lin’an had already pulled him to a window position and sat down as if waiting for someone.

After Ye Jin recovered, he looked at the empty shop, and looked at Ye Lin’an with some doubts: “Cousin, where is this place? The decoration is really stylish. You didn’t really come here on a blind date, did you?”

Ye Lin’an looked at his little cousin, who didn’t understand, and sighed helplessly: “I already said no. You sit here and wait obediently; I’ll see why they haven’t arrived yet.” As he said, he got up and walked towards the door of the store.

Not long after Ye Lin’an walked out, while Ye Jin was still looking around curiously, the light in the store suddenly dimmed, and the originally transparent glass-like windows were also covered by a thin layer of opaque material.

Ye Jin’s heart thumped loudly as he stood up from his seat anxiously, still afraid to go out in the dark to see what happened.

At this moment, a warm yellow halo suddenly lit up all around the store, and a person slowly came out from behind the bar that could be seen as soon as he entered the door, holding a bunch of unrecognized flowers in his hand. From the other direction, there was a group of people pushing a big cake, and people on both sides walked in the direction where he was standing at the same time.

Ye Jin looked at Fu Chen, who came out from behind the bar in surprise, and the flower he was holding in his hand that looked like a rose but was not very similar to a rose. Unexpectedly, he thought of a scene where a man proposed to a woman, and he shuddered abruptly.

After that, Ye Jin turned his head and looked at the people pushing the cake. They were all known to him. There were several of his apprentices, including Chang Lin, Xie Cong, and Qiao Siyang, as well as several cousins of the Ye family and Fu Chen’s adjutant, Xiao Lang.

Ye Jin looked at the group of people standing in front of him and wanted to cry sourly, but he resisted crying and turned his head to look at Fu Chen and said, “What are you doing?”

Fu Chen shook the flowers in his hand nervously and said, “Xiao Jin, I want to be with you for the rest of my life, regardless of life or death; is it okay?”

Ye Jin looked at the flowers in Fu Chen’s hand, and the corners of his mouth twitched without answering. Instead, he looked at him and asked, “Who told you to give flowers? How can there be flowers for boys? And this flower is too ugly.” 

As he said, he fiddled with his hands twice.

Fu Chen looked at Ye Jin’s expression and threw the flowers aside in frustration and said, “This is the information about the ancient earth that I asked Adjutant Xiao to check. It says that among the 100 successful marriage proposals, this one is said to have the highest success rate.”

Ye Jin held his forehead when he heard the words and said, “Isn’t that for girls? Don’t listen to others casually next time; come and ask me. I know what I want the best.”
