Chapter 54: Found

Ye Jin and Fu Chen were still in the mood to discuss the picnic here, but Emperor Duxing was working hard to find the two of them.

When Ye Jin heard Fu Chen’s instructions to hurry up, he thought of the time he had delayed today because of the discovery of various ingredients and spices. He couldn’t help but feel a little ashamed and annoyed.

He whispered: “I’m sorry; it’s because I’m looking for materials everywhere today that I delayed so much time. I promise I won’t do it again. If I did it again, you can just slap me down or scold me. It’s okay!”

The moment Fu Chen heard Ye Jin’s words, he turned his head and glanced at him. He found that he was lowering his head in shame at this time, so he stretched out his other hand and poked Ye Jin’s head.

“Such a stupid thing to say. How could I be willing to scold you? Besides, it has nothing to do with you. Have you forgotten that we were still slowly finding a way out? Even if you don’t find ingredients, we won’t be able to go fast.”

Ye Jin touched the place where Fu Chen had gently poked, and stared at him blankly for a while, and the happiness in his heart couldn’t help but appear on his face.

“No, if it’s poisonous, I wouldn’t have brought you here.” Fu Chen said, gathering the leaves that had fallen all over the ground around him and continued: “This kind of tree is called gray willow. It is not poisonous. It is a variant of willow. Although it is not common in the imperial capital, there are still some left.”

At night, after Ye Jin and Fu Chen had a barbecue and lit a bonfire in front of them, Fu Chen asked Ye Jin to rest first, while he helped with the look out. 

Ye Jin hesitated for a while and said, “If you don’t rest, you will be out of energy tomorrow. How about this: you will stay for the first half of the night and I will stay for the second half of the night, so that I can have time to rest.”

Fu Chen looked at Ye Jin with a tangled expression of concern, and said softly: “Okay, then you go to bed first. I will guard for the first half of the night, and you will guard for the second half of the night.”

Listening to Ye Jin’s energetic voice, Fu Chen didn’t look sleepy at all. After responding with a smile, he didn’t plan to really wake him up in the middle of the night.

Until it was dawn, Ye Jin was awakened by an excited shout.

“Admiral! My subordinates have finally found you! Are you okay?”

Ye Jin turned his head in a daze and opened his eyes. What caught his eye was a light gray color and the voice of a somewhat excited young man in his ear.

What caught his eye was a pair of straight and slender thighs wearing gray sweatpants. Looking up along the legs was a tight gray sportswear supported by muscles. 

The moment he saw Fu Chen’s resolute and beautiful face, Ye Jin’s mind, which was still a little confused, was completely awake all of a sudden, and those moist and shiny peach blossom eyes were so shocked that they opened wide.

Fu Chen stared at Ye Jin’s confused and surprised look. Originally, he saw his subordinates yelling and making serious faces, but suddenly he couldn’t help showing a soft expression. 

He also stretched out his hand and rubbed Ye Jin’s curled hair, then straightened it out for him, then pulled Ye Jin up and asked, “Did you wake you up? The person looking for us is here. If you are still sleepy, you can sleep later when you get on the battleship.”

Ye Jin was still in surprise and couldn’t react. He immediately returned to his senses after hearing Fu Chen say that the person looking for them had arrived, recalling the exclamation he had just heard. 

He immediately looked in the direction where the sound had just been made and saw a group of strong men in military uniforms standing not far in front. Their eyes widened as they looked at the two of them with a look of astonishment, holding various testing instruments in their hands.

With so many people watching him wake up from Fu Chen’s lap, Ye Jin couldn’t help but blush. He even forgot what he wanted to say and couldn’t help but hide behind Fu Chen.

Fu Chen sensed Ye Jin’s actions and took a step in front of him to block the gaze of the onlookers. He looked at the soldiers in front of him coldly and said, “The whole team! Set off back to the Imperial Capital Star!”

The few people who were still staring at Ye Jin in awe subconsciously stood in line as soon as they heard their admiral’s order. Fu Chen led Ye Jin to walk in front of a few people. It was not until Fu Chen pulled him back to the battleship and there were only two people left that Ye Jin could breathe a sigh of relief and relax.

Ye Jin had managed to calm down after being pulled into the battleship by Fu Chen all the way, and even the blush on his face was suppressed. But now that he was alone with Fu Chen, Ye Jin felt weird feelings in his heart. He was not as comfortable as before, and he couldn’t do what he thought before: let it go.

“Xiao Jin, if you are still sleepy, take a break in this room for a while. I will deal with the affairs of the legion first. I will call you when I return to the Imperial Capital Star. If you need anything, you can send me a message directly. I will have someone send it to you.” Fu Chen said in a soft and concerned voice.

Ye Jin glanced at the simple, empty layout and simple single bed in the room. Hearing Fu Chen’s familiar and caring words, he immediately put away the previous strange feeling behind him and hurriedly asked as if thinking of something.

“I’m not sleepy now, but you! You didn’t wake me up at the vigil last night. You would be very sleepy after staying by yourself all night, so you should rest even more. It’s not too late to deal with military affairs when you have a good rest.”

Fu Chen stared at Ye Jin with a look of complaint and worry, feeling warm in his heart, but still said: “It’s okay. I usually don’t have time to rest when I’m busy. I took the opportunity to rest last night, and I’m not sleepy now.”

“It’s true that you were awakened suddenly, so you should rest for a while. There are no edible ingredients on the battleship. Later, I will ask them to send you a nutrient solution to soothe your stomach first.”

When Ye Jin heard Fu Chen’s understatement about the front line, he replied bitterly: “How can that be the same! The front line is at war, and the current situation is not at war. The military affairs are not in a hurry for the time being. So hurry up and rest, and go to work only after you have had a good rest!”

Fu Chen stared at Ye Jin helplessly with doting eyes. His already warm mood was even better because of Ye Jin’s concern, so he nodded and said, “Okay, then you can rest for a while. “I’ll wait for you to fall asleep before going to bed, and they can come later to bring you the nutrient solution.”

As he said, Fu Chen pulled Ye Jin to the side of the single bed and let him rest. It was not until Ye Jin’s breathing became heavy that Fu Chen walked out of Ye Jin’s room.
