A Descendant To God

Chapter 20 - 21 - Another Cliche?

After signing up for the [Training Camp], I went to an Inn to get a room, I then searched for a Skill that would let me Sleep for less time, I eventually found it but it would cost like 25.000 World Coins so I had to continue kill monster before being able to buy that.

Because it was already night time I decided to just stay in the Inn and look at what is happening with the Clone, when I looked, I was still being carried away, my arms were tied up, I decided to wait, we eventually reached some sort of City, they then took me to a place that looked like some sort of Palace, when we reached this place, the people that took me to here started kneeling and talked to the person on the throne.

"Your Highness, we got the person you asked for", I stayed expressionless and started thinking for why they would send me here but before I could find a reason, the "Highness" started talking.

"You can now leave and get your rewards with the treasurer", he then started looking at me, he came down his throne and started talking to me.

"[Hero], I hope you could protect us, Demons." What he said surprised me but it also confused me.

"How could I protect you right now and shouldn't you be trying to kill me considering that I'm the [Hero], the mortal enemy of Demons?" After he heard that, he showed a bitter smile before sighing and answering my question.

"Killing you would be pointless, we, Demons already know that there is another [Hero] in the Human Palace and us killing you would trigger the wrath of the Human and they would find a reason to finally exterminate us without incurring the wrath of our God. So the only way for us to defend ourselves is to find ourselves a [Hero], so us, Demons, ask . . no . . Beg you to help us" Saying that, he started kneeling, at this point this didn't surprise me because I felt that this was too cliche but after thinking for a while, I received a Notification.

{Quest : Choose A Path

The Demon King beg for you to become the [Hero] of the Demon Race, will you accept this or will you refuse this?

Quest Rewards : Dependant On The Answer

Quest Failure : None}

With the apparition of this quest, I pondered even more and decided to answer him.

"Before I choose to help you or not, I wish to visit your kingdom" Although my family was Human, I didn't have any feelings toward them and I would still need to see the character of those Demons and I could compare them to Humans using my true Body and my Clone.

After Hearing my request, he nodded and opened the gate for me to leave the Palace, looking at the lively city, the kids playing and laughing, the a.d.u.l.ts talking, my impression of Demons started changing, I then continued visiting the city, although I didn't have any [Disguise] on, they didn't give me any strange look, talking behind my back, some kids even invited me to come play with them but I still didn't decide to choose to become their [Hero] because that could've been something that was acted by the Demon King so I decided to also make a Fake Identity with [Disguise].

I disguised myself as a Red-Haired ~10 Year Old Kid and chose the name "Donovan", although my Clone had half of my current vitality, he still needed a lot of mana so I decided to first remove my [Disguise] and went back to the Palace to ask the Demon King for money and [Mana Potion].

After getting them, I then officially left, my first idea was to get into an Academy, after asking some people, I got to the School but it was closed so I just decided to get to the Inn with my clone.

Before sleeping, I thought that this would be hard if I had to switch between my True Body and my Clone everytime so I tried to control both of them at the same time after minutes or so of trying I got the Ability to use it

{You Received : Consciousness Splitting (Level 0 0/1000) :

Consciousness is Split to allow the User to control More than 1 Body}

Another Problem I found was the fact that when sleeping I could probably not get enough Mana to maintain the clone, I only thought of one way, it was upgrading the [Shadow Clone Technique], to upgrade the [Shadow Clone Technique], it would cost me 250 Essences, I started thinking about what to destroy, I thought of [Mana Control], [Elemental Mana] and [Elemental Mana Control] because it could be easy to get them back, removing them gave me enough Essence to upgrade the [Shadow Clone Technique], I then got a window that asked me what to choose.

{Upgrading Shadow Clone Technique, Choose 1 :

- Hibernate : When Used, the Clone doesn't cost Mana to maintain but it can't act.

- Unleash : When Used, The Clone has 100% Of the User's Stat, it last 10 Minutes and after that, the Clone would get destroyed (Can Only be Used Every 10 Days)}

Although [Unleash] seemed good, [Hibernate] was the best way for what I needed for the moment until I would have [Mana Regeneration] to a good level where I would regenerate more Mana than I would lose.

The Next Day -

It was still some time before the Rise of the Sun,

I woke up earlier so that I could get back my [Mana Control], my [Elemental Mana Control] and my [Elemental Mana], although I couldn't bring them back to the Max Level, they were at a sufficient Level for the moment.

I then rushed to the [Adventurer Guild], when I arrived there, I had to go to a room where someone would test me, the one testing me was a Tall and Brawny Man.

When the test started, he quickly rushed toward me with high speed, to counter him, I used an [Earth Wall] and a [Wood Wall], at this point I was already in a bad Position because he was a Warrior-Type Fighter which was a kind I never fought, when he destroyed the [Earth Wall] and was ready to destroy the [Wood Wall], I used [Combustion] on the [Wood Wall] then sent an [Earth Hammer] to stun him for a bit, after that I quickly rushed to the opposite direction of him and prepared to use the first Piercing spell that came into my mind, [Spinning Mana Arrow], I used it repeatedly, gradually some arrows started appearing, . . 2 arrows . . 3 arrows.

Then the smoke gradually disappeared, I saw him clothes tattered and with some blood, he was laughing . . "HaHa! I didn't expect such a Good Seedling to appear here to join the [Training Camp]!

Declan, is it? Well Kid, you pass the test!" After that, he gave me a plate that would prove that I passed the test and the days of when the [Training Camp] Started, it was in a few weeks so I decided to take this time to learn Crafting and get some money.
