Wu Fa headed back to his room. On his way he ran into a crying brother and sister pair. "John! You're leaving us! Sister loves you! Boohoo!" cried Leona.

"John! I can't tell you how proud of you I am!" cried Henry. The two of them bear-hugged Wu Fa while nearly strangling him. Before parting, Wu Fa activated Appraisal Eye on them.

"I have such a weak family. Henry's signature move is a basic lightning spell? What kind of lame signature move is that?" thought Wu Fa. "And Qi Condensation Rank 7? Even peasants with nearly no knowledge of magic can achieve Qi Condensation Rank 3 or 4. She's weaker than Sharon who is at least a Rank 8 Qi Condensation cultivator!"

Just then, Sharon appeared. "Young master, you called for me?" she asked.

"Ah, yes, can you take me to the orphanage again? I'm planning on choosing a few orphan children to go with me to the capital. Good for them, you know? Broadening horizons and stuff," replied Wu Fa.

Sharon looked surprised. "Very well, let's go then." The whole carriage ride was silent. Sharon thought to herself, "The young master has changed for the better since his amnesia."

After arriving at the orphanage, a surprised Maria greeted them. Usually John only visited the orphanage once a week.

"Sister Maria, I'd like to take in a few kids to accompany me when I leave for the capital to start my business!" declared Wu Fa.

"Ah! You're leaving for the capital?!" Sister Maria was a bit stunned.

"Yes!" replied Wu Fa.

After staring in shock for a moment, Sister Maria regained her wits and called for all the orphanage kids. Before Wu Fa stood around thirty messy-looking children.

"Hi John!"

"Do you have candy, John?"

"Listen up kiddos! Big bro John, here, is going to the capital!" announced Wu Fa.

"The capital?!" gasped all the kids. It was like a fairyland far away.

"And I'm bringing some of you with me!" finished Wu Fa. The light in the eyes of many kids lit up. "You will henceforth be adopted into the Wess.e.x family as my father's godson or goddaughter!"

"John choose me!" yelled a little boy with red hair while the rest of the crowd stood dumbstruck.

"No me!"

"No me!"

"No me! I never eat that much candy!" The crowd flew into an uproar. Wu Fa activated Appraisal Eye and selected the "more information" option for all the kids.

"Hmmmmm, hey this kid has a high affinity for fire spells," contemplated Wu Fa as he observed the red-haired boy that had called out first. "Alright!" yelled Wu Fa. "You kid! Yeah, you! You're coming with me!"

"YES!" yelled the little boy in joy as the rest of the crowd looked on in jealousy. Wu Fa scanned the crowd one more time.

"Hm?" his eyes locked onto a young girl standing a bit away. She looked on the crowd without emotion. "Hey, you! I'll choose you too!" yelled Wu Fa. Her personal file from Appraisal Eye had indicated that she was compatible with the Ice Phoenix Devil Slayer Canon. She looked a bit surprised, but obediently joined the red-haired boy next to Wu Fa.

Wu Fa looked around, but did not see anyone promising. Just then, a little boy ran up to Sister Maria and hugged her leg. He was younger than most people in the crowd, looking only to be around six years of age. Wu Fa's eyes lit up as the following words appeared:

"Supreme grade mage? Whatever, I need someone to train in the Wiz style of magic anyways," thought Wu Fa. "Okay kiddo! I'll choose you too!" he announced.

Sister Maria blinked. "Ah? Um, Sir Wess.e.x, maybe it would be better not to choose him. Mittie, here, is very shy. He's also still young."

"It'll be fine! I see great potential in him! He seems to be an incredibly smart little boy! Come over! Uncle John has lots of candy!" pushed Wu Fa. Sister Maria hesitated then brought Mittie over. Mittie seemed unwilling and hid behind Sister Maria's skirt.

"Hmmmm, hey, Sharon, can you take care of this little boy?" asked Wu Fa.

"Me?" asked a surprised Sharon.

"Yeah, he seems scared of me," replied Wu Fa.

"Very well. Hi! Mittie! I'm Ms. Sharon! Here, look at this teddy bear!" Mittie's eyes lit up as he waddled over to Sharon and grabbed the bear.

Inwardly, Wu Fa was confused. "Who brings around a teddy bear?" he thought. He turned to the red-haired boy and the young girl who both seemed to be around 10 years old.

"What are your names?" he asked.

"I'm Bo and she's Pika!" yelled the red-haired boy.

"Very well, Bo and Pika. Pack up your stuff and say your goodbyes. We'll be leaving for the capital in a week," announced Wu Fa.
