chapter 30 . things i can do

"Where did you learn that name?"

I knew I had made a mistake when I saw the white-masked man yell out with his hand on the sword at his waist.

I shouldn't have said such a bold thing before I knew who I was dealing with.

Oh my God! Talking to myself at a moment's notice is a bad habit of ex-nees!

 Oh no

 What should I do?

My hands and feet are tied, and even if I use magic to loosen them, my escape will be delayed by a beat. If he slashes at you, you won't make it in time!

Do I fight back with magic at any cost?

No, that's not good idea either.

Even if I could defeat the man in front of me, if reinforcements hear the sound and come, I will die in the worst case scenario.

 What should I do?

A moment's pondering. Countless options floated in my mind, and when I was about to finally choose battle, the door to the room opened again and another man came in.

"You're making a lot of noise. What's up?"

'This kid knew our names!"

"What?"

The newly arrived white-masked man stared at me calmly, not as distraught as his companions.

'What are you zoning out about! There may be a traitor among us!

'Well, wait a minute. Did they really know?"

'Oh, yes! Just by looking at this mask, the Ulgor Evil Order and I certainly spoke of it as such!"

'I see."

The man's sharp gaze pierces me.

I feel the same kind of intelligence, though not as much as that of Nicholas. It might not be a good idea to be pried into.

"For the time being, I need to calm down. If they already know about me , then making a fuss about it now won't make any difference."

"That's true, but..."

"I'm going to report this to my people. In the meantime, keep an eye on him and don't kill him. Understood?'

"------. Got it."

After a brief exchange of words, the companions immediately left the room.

The remaining man in the white mask stands in front of me and draws his sword.

'Don't do anything bad. If you move an inch, I'll chop you off!"

 Is this a desperate situation?

Calm down, for the time being.

If they remove my ability to think calmly, there will be nothing left.

Calm down and think of a way out of this situation before the guy who just left comes back.

First, I need to figure out what's going on.

---I'm sure I've been kidnapped, and I'm sure they didn't kill me at that point, t,

And if I am not killed at that point, and if I am locked up like this now, I know that the enemy thinks my life is worth something.

Is it a hostage, a possible ransom, or a sacrifice of some kind? In any case, they probably planned to do something that wouldn't be possible if I died.

'Huh."

Damn, if that's the case, what I did earlier was even more of a failure.

If I had kept quiet about the Ulgor evil sect, I wouldn't have suddenly found myself in such a situation.

If this continues, the worst that can happen is that they will torture me into giving up the reason why I know the name of the Ulgor Sect of Evil.

Or, rather, it would almost surely happen.

---"

Damn, what now?

The guy who just came in said he was going to report to his buddies, and he hasn't come back yet.

Is there no ally of these guys within immediate rushing distance?

One possibility is that they are daring to spread out their allies in order to reduce the risk of being discovered---but if that is true, there is no other chance to escape before the enemies gather, in other words, now is the only chance to escape.

"I guess I've got no choice but to do it now."

'Phew."

Determined to do it, I simultaneously cast the two spells I've been practicing since I came to this world without chanting.

My head ached. No matter how much I train my thinking ability every day, it seems that it was impossible to perform two spells at the same time without chanting.

But for now, I endured the pain and pushed through the impossible.

One of the magic spells to be activated is the second level of the fire attribute.

It is a beginner level magic and has very low killing power, but it has enough firepower to burn things.

I dexterously moved my bound hands to remove a piece of iron I had tucked into the sole of my shoe and applied the magic flame to it.

The other is a water-based first level spell.

This one was also rudimentary, just generating water.

These two magic tricks and the piece of iron were handled in a concealed manner, taking advantage of the fact that my hands and feet were tied behind my body.

Each of these spells is not much of a threat on its own, but with wisdom and ingenuity, they can be turned into any number of things.

---What I am trying to create is a steam explosion.

When water comes into contact with a substance heated to an ultra-high temperature, it rapidly increases in volume through vaporization, causing an explosion.

What would happen if I simply reproduced the knowledge I gained in Japan on my side of the pond, and what would be the result?

After the piece of iron is heated enough, the two magic spells are released and then the defensive magic is activated. Then, the piece of iron is brought close to the water---right after that.

With a deafening explosion, a powerful explosion erupted at their feet.

The wooden floor, walls, and ceiling are all shattered, and an overwhelming amount of heat is transmitted through the defensive magic.

The man in the white mask who was watching me was the only one who could see the blast.

The white masked man who was watching me was caught in the explosion, blown away, and knocked against the wall on the other side. After falling to the ground, he showed no sign of getting up, probably having fainted.

The explosion was directed at the opposite side of the man, to blow up the wall and also the warding was put up just before the explosion.

"--- This is bad."

The wind-attribute spell cuts the noose and stands up. The actual "I'm not sure how much I'm going to be able to do with it, but I'm sure I'm going to be able to do with it.

The room was half destroyed around the point where the blast had occurred, and I could see the scenery outside through the blown-out walls.

The firepower was so tremendous that it was hard to believe that a human could have done it. This time we controlled it and avoided killing, but if we wanted to, we would have been able to kill as many people as we wanted.

We had to think carefully about the usage of the spell.

"Well, let's just get out of here."

I jumped down from the wall on the second floor and began to run away quickly.

--- Later, a member of the evil sect who saw the mess in the room mistook Norwin for a first-rate wizard and sent a powerful man after him, but that is a story for another time.
