“I’m sorry. I don’t know what’s going on, but I can’t stop crying.”

The assassin apologizes flatly, and she scratches her cheeks in embarrassment.

“You know, I don’t think it’s fair that only the assassin shows her weakness. So I’d like to show my weakness too.”

“No need… to worry about that. Because I do that on my own accord.”

“This is where my weak side is.”

I take off my top half. The assassin’s mouth opens wide in surprise at what has just happened. She covers her eyes with her hands but peeks between the gaps.

“…on my back, between my shoulder blades, that’s probably my weak spot.”

“No way, physically!? Are you crazy? ”

I show my back to the assassin. The assassin gives me a cold stare and gently traces her finger over the spot where I said that.

“Auhhh!”

“Don’t make a funny voice, Sagami. It makes me feel like I’m doing something dirty.”

“Wasn’t you caressing me? I thought we were going to bed after this.”

“Sighhhh~”

The assassin sighs heavily. Then she slaps me on the back as hard as she can. The whole room echoed with the sound of a balloon bursting open.

“Is the assassin an S? ”

“Disgusting… I was an idiot to have misunderstood even a little. Sagami is Sagami after all.”

“Misunderstood what? ”

“I don’t know. I forgot. More importantly, is dinner ready yet? ”

The assassin is lamenting her supper like a fool. But I’ve been standing beside her all this time, so I haven’t prepared anything.

“Can an assassin cook? ”

“Well, I used to live alone.”

I thought that since she was alone in her room, she had the food brought to her. I mean, what kind of place has everything you need?

“Do you want to cook together? I don’t think I’ll be able to keep the assassin tied up in here forever anyway.”

“Are you sure you want to do that? I might kill Sagami. ”

She glares at me sharply, but I can handle it calmly, knowing the crying assassin from earlier.

“You’re going to miss me when I’m gone, aren’t you? ”

“H-hey stop!? ”

“Besides, if I’m going to be killed by an assassin, I’m willing to do it.”

With that, I snap off the handcuffs. The assassin stands up, jumps lightly, stretches a little, and turns to face me.

“Sagami is too kind. Kindness is the last thing we need in this business. That kindness could cost you your life. ”

“I’m telling you once more. It’s not kindness. It’s love. ”

“Once again, you might say that only to fool me. But it’s fortunate that kind of love or whatever saved my life.”

The assassin looks away from me. Then she wiggles her fingers playfully and smiles wickedly. Then she opens her mouth.

“I wish I could understand that kind of love someday…”

“Right now, I am full of love for the assassin. I love the assassin!”

I jumped toward the assassin to hug her, but she moved away from me, turned her head toward me, and smiled.

“Thank you for letting me cry without prying anything today. You can ask me about my past later.”

“Oh. It’s a husband’s duty to know everything about his wife.”

“I don’t know if you’re going to be my husband, but best regards from now on.”

With that, the assassin fluttered her hands and took light steps toward the kitchen.

Watching her from behind, I wondered if, in the future, she would say, ‘Dinner? Bath? Or me?’ I replayed the assassin’s version of the best line in my brain.
