I was going to make Napolitan but decided against it because I didn’t have any pasta.

I think it’s safe to go shopping now, but I am afraid I’m still being watched. It would be easier if they thought I was already dead, killed by an assassin.

It’s not that easy, and I’m still on the run.

My right leg is almost healed, and I think I can fight with a decent opponent. Now, I would probably lose one time in a hundred fights against the Assassin, but I don’t want to do anything that would hurt the Assassin.

“All right, let’s make Takoyaki.”

This way, the Assassin who can use only one hand can easily enjoy the food.

So I prepare the takoyaki cooker, and the Assassin is playing with it by turning the gas stove on and off.

“What do you want to put in your takoyaki, Assassin? Ah, I mean, other than an octopus. ”

She looks at me with a puzzled look on her face when I say this. Is it so weird that I’m preparing for a takoyaki?

“What’s a takoyaki? ”

She asks me this question with a very serious face. Perhaps the Assassin grew up without access to entertainment or good food.

I must send her to various places and delicious food! I have a mysterious mission inside me.

“It’s like an Osaka specialty. You’ll know it when you try it, but it’s crispy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside.”

That sounds delicious.

And so we wait for the takoyaki to be ready. The Assassin says,

“Sagami, do you know about a theme park called U〇J? I think it’s an urban legend because I heard it from someone else too.

“U〇J exists, you know? I don’t go there because I’m too embarrassed to go alone.”
(〇 = censored, but probably universal studio japan.)

When I said that, the Assassin replied with a somewhat vague “hmm” and then smirked,

“Sagami couldn’t go because he didn’t have a girlfriend anyway, right?”

“When did I say I didn’t have a girlfriend? ”

“Eh, did you have it…? ”

The Assassin asks back, somewhat seriously. Is it really so strange that I have a girlfriend? You must think it’d be an urban legend if I had a girlfriend.

“I have a cool and cute assassin as a girlfriend, you know? She agreed with me when she went to the bathroom.”

“Oh, it’s me… Wait, that’s not right! I wasn’t thinking straight last time.”

“Then, let’s start over. Let’s start over with the confession.”

“What?”

Now that we’re getting to know each other better, it’s okay if I push you a little. I suddenly grabbed the Assassin’s free left hand and held it up against the wall in a banzai pose.

The Assassin resisted a bit. I keep her left hand on the wall and slightly lift up the chin of the resisting Assassin. This is a technique I learned from that book.

It’s called a “chin squeeze.”

And I’ve learned from our previous conversation that assassins have a weakness for commanding tones. I’m not very good at doing it, but I do it for her pretty faces. I don’t have a choice.

“Be mine, assassin.”

” ….hauhh.”

The Assassin’s voice is weak, neither a yes nor a no. But her expression did not say no, I think?

She was blushing up to her ears, mouth agape, looking me in the eye once and immediately looking away.

But when she looked into my eyes as if she was ready, she chose her words one by one.

“A little longer. If you stay with me a little longer, maybe… I’ll think about it.”

“Huh… really? ”

“…really.”

By the time I replied in this way, the takoyaki had been cooked and smelled delicious. But now, a feeling of joy was coursing through my body.

” …hurry up, let’s eat takoyaki. It smells so good. ”

The Assassin lightly shakes off my hand and moves toward the takoyaki.

The Assassin’s ears are red, though she pretends to have switched her mind to the takoyaki. As my heart still beats fast, will the Assassin’s heart also beat fast right now?

If so, I am glad that she sees me as a man, at least a little.
