Episode 84 – New Daily Life

I know it’s too abrupt, but I love my family.

My brother, who I grew up with and understands me better than anyone else. My father, who taught me the importance of love and affection even though what he did often turned out to be ineffective. My mother, who is frail but always puts me and my brother first.

The many other men who have worked under my father and taken care of me since I was a little girl. I was scared of them at first, but as we got to know each other, I came to recognize them as important members of the family.

I’m usually a quiet, expressionless, and reserved person, but I have a surprisingly broad range of human relationships. Since there are many people in this town who are involved with the Yukihana group rather than me, I have a lot of contacts in various places. I was genuinely happy when I was little because these people sometimes treated me like a princess or a young lady, but it’s a secret that I have been feeling embarrassed recently. I mean, as expected at my age, I don’t want to be treated like that. Well, because I didn’t say anything, many people have continued to get carried away.

[…..]

At first glance, my family seems to be happy and harmonious, but because of my family background, I was often ostracized by the world. As a result, I did not fit in well with my age group, and as a result, I could only take advantage of my family. And it was not only me, but also my younger brother. My younger brother was much weaker than he is now, and had tendencies to get bullied.

Anyway, this is our daily life. We thought that no one could threaten us and that our family ties would last forever.

However, our family is now in danger of being divided. Mainly because of my father, who is a parental idiot who got ahead of himself. That man has made an unnecessary burden on me. My mother doesn’t know about this, and my brother almost punched him.

But my father is not going to back down on ‘this matter’ . According to him, it was a result of thinking about my happiness or something like that. Yeah, it’s really unnecessary…….screw you, screw you, screw you, screw you, screw you, screw you, screw you, screw you, screw you, screw you, screw you, screw you, screw you, screw you, screw you, screw you, screw you, screw you, screw you, screw you, screw you, screw you, screw you, screw you, screw you…….

Well, you could say that this kind of thing happens often, but there was a lot about this time that was somewhat discredited and unsettling.

[…… I.]

Of course, I’m not the kind of person who easily accepts such a ridiculous story. I will resist and show him until the very end. My brother is going to cooperate with me, and in some cases, I’m going to ask my mother to listen to me.

But if that doesn’t work, will I have to turn to someone else? But I don’t think there’s anyone who will lend me a hand. Or rather, I don’t want to talk too much about this to outsiders. I don’t want to get too familiar with anyone too. But I don’t want to give up. I don’t want to admit it.

Either way, it’s a race against time. Until that guy gets into this place…..

[Well then, greetings from the new student council president. Shinkai Sakura san, please.]

[Yes !]

One week after the end of the sports festival. While many students were watching in the hot and humid gymnasium, the new student council president went up on the stage. It was the beginning of the new student council. The election campaign itself was originally held at the same time as the sports festival, and only now has the confidence of the new student council been decided.

“I’m Shinkai Sakura, and I’m the new student council president. Following the example of my predecessor, President Shiina Haruka, I will focus on the school as a whole and create an environment that is comfortable for each and every one of us……”

As the new student council president, Shinkai makes her speech with an imposing appearance. When I turned my eyes to the line of third-year students, I saw my step sister watching over the spectacle. She must be proud of the appearance of her junior that stood out on the stage.

(It’s not for me to say, but there’s no one in the current second grade more qualified to be student council president than her.)

Her specs are well documented, and unlike my sister, she has the ability to deal with unexpected problems correctly. She also has the highest grades in her class and is trusted by her teachers. At least there’s no one in this grade who can complain about her becoming student council president.

The vice presidents are a first-year girl and a second-year boy. They are the ones who supported her from behind the scenes as student members before. They were reappointed to their positions in this year’s election. Furthermore, it seems that some students became interested in the student council through this year’s sports festival, and new members were also added.

The student council led by Shinkai was off to a good start.

“Shinkai san is amazing.”

“She has charisma, or whatever you call it !”

“Yeah, yeah, as expected from Sakura !”

As the student council president was leaving the gymnasium after her speech, the students of the same grade were giving their own opinions. Especially those in Shinkai’s class, 2nd year class 2, were quite excited. Kisaragi joined them, and it got so noisy that the teacher had to warn them, but I quietly went to my classroom alone, trying to stay out of it as much as possible.

(The sports festival is over, so there’s nothing to do for a while.)

After the sports festival, Miura and I exchanged contact information and secretly kept in touch. As a result of our discussion, we decided to refrain from any activities for a while. Apparently, as I had predicted, Yukihana Hisui had foiled the chairman’s plan, and because of that, the chairman had gone into a state of alert. So we decided to spend our school life pretending to be strangers to each other, as it seemed that even if we made a move now, it would likely end up in vain.

But of course, there was the downside of acting flamboyantly at that sports festival.

[Then why did you break into the relay…I’m going to have you spit it out.]

[……I entered the wrong class.]

[That can’t be true–! ! !]

After the sports festival was over and I went home, as expected, my sister questioned me a lot. But I didn’t tell her the truth, and I faked the truth at that time. Even though the barriers were down, I couldn’t tell her everything and get her involved. I made her feel unhappy from beginning to end, but I decided that it was inevitable.

And in addition to that, I heard that each club organization is now trying to scout out the Rabbit Man (me) from that time. They want me to play an active role in the sports team because of my speed. Thanks to my sister and Miura’s silence, they have managed to cover it up, but you never know when they will find out. I have to be on guard as well.

This is what I’ve been up to recently. I think I can get by if I’m careful for now. The teachers don’t seem to be making any moves at the moment, and time will tell. I’ll just have to wait until then.

[Well then, let’s start with the third graders, go to the classrooms in order…….]

And so, the new student council president’s speech ended. By the way, my sister was originally scheduled to stand on the stage and give a speech as well. But it seems that she has been assigned to do something similar at the graduation ceremony, and for adult reasons, she decided not to do it this time. Well, it was a wise decision, since some people might have suffered from heat stroke if the speech had lasted longer in that extreme heat.

We were then released from the troublesome assembly and entered the classroom. Being in a private school, air conditioners were naturally already installed. In fact, most of the equipment is owned by the school, rather than rented, because the school does not like to lease. I’m thankful for the recent educational situation because it was not so common in the past.

“….Sigh.”

When I sat down, I heard someone next to me, who had already sat down before me, sigh. This girl…….Yukihana is usually expressionless and doesn’t show this kind of dejected look. No, she looks more tired than depressed. What’s going on withher?

Well, it doesn’t matter to me now. I mean, the more I get involved in strange circumstances, the more I will…..

[Hm, aren’t you going to help?]

(……Tch)

My ears are ringing again. It should’ve been calm lately.

But my attitude remains the same. We have our own problems to deal with. I can’t make any rash moves here in order not to miss the opportunity. Now is the time to wait.

If I make a poor move, I may miss a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. From now on, I must live my life more discreetly than ever before. I resolve to do so once again.

In the end, I didn’t call out to Yukihana, who was probably having some trouble.
