Chapter 54: Counterattack 1

He held Shen Chengjing. Her face could not help but turn red and white. She pushed him away gently.

“I’m fine. I probably didn’t rest well last night.” Shen Chengjing shook her head, feeling a wave of dizziness.

At this moment, Manager Bai walked in and saw the interaction between Shen Chengjing and Ou Yibei. Her eyes darkened slightly as a complicated glint flared. She concealed it very well.

“The next shoot will start in five minutes. Get ready,” she said.

The makeup artist came in to retouch Shen Chengjing’s makeup. She looked at the mirror and touched her forehead. “Miss Shen, your forehead is quite hot. Do you have a fever?”

The makeup artist hesitated for half a second. In this kind of weather, it was very easy to catch a cold, especially since Shen Chengjing had gone diving beforehand. The consequences were noticeable.

“I’m fine.” Shen Chengjing shook her head gently, but her body seemed to be out of sync with her words.

After that, Shen Chengjing played her part with Ou Yibei. She was particularly engrossed in her acting so they successfully shot the scene in one go.

Back at the lounge, everyone began to eat from their lunchboxes. Shen Chengjing focused her eyes on her seat and quietly walked toward it.

“Ahh!”

.

She opened her lunchbox, only to find a mouse inside. It was a bloody and gory sight. She subconsciously let out a strange cry.

“What’s wrong?” Manager Bai walked in and noticed how strangely she was acting.

Shen Chengjing quietly closed the lunchbox. She didn’t want to be acting out of the ordinary. “It’s nothing, my hand slipped. It hurts a little, I just need to apply some medicine.”

Manager Bai didn’t suspect anything. Everyone started eating while Shen Chengjingpacked up her lunchbox. She stood there in a daze after which she turned around and left in deep thought.

She walked to the security room next door. “Hello, may I take a look at today’s surveillance footage?” She said to the security guard inside the room.

The security guard was eating. He looked up at her clothes and recognized at a glance that she was the diving girl. “Is there a problem?”

“No, one of my belongings has gone missing. I’d like to go through the security footage to find it.”

“You can look through it. Don’t let others find it before you.” The security guard didn’t think too much about it and let her do as she pleased.

Shen Chengjing quietly looked at the surveillance footage. The assistant who did odd jobs had walked in with their lunchboxes half an hour ago. She left after setting up their positions.

A few minutes later, Zhou Qing sneakily walked in and poured everything in Shen Chengjing’s lunchbox into the trash can. Then, she placed another lunch box on its former position. She left in a hurry, resulting in a corner of her outfit being torn.

“So, it’s her.” Shen Chengjing’s lips curled into a cold smile and her fingers paused the footage on that frame.

Seeing that the security guard was not paying attention, she covertly took a picture of this frame on her phone.

“Did you find it?” The security guard came back after washing his hands and saw that she was about to leave.

“Yes, thank you,” she said. She was feeling a bit under the weather, so she left in a hurry.

Speaking of Zhou Qing, the two of them had been at odds since they entered art school. Back then, Zhou Qing had rehearsed and was cast as the female lead. In the end, because her temperament didn’t match that of the female lead, the tutor had stripped her of the role and let Shen Chengjing take her place. Thus, the two of them became estranged.

Zhou Qing was blocked by Shen Chengjing at the door of the bathroom. “What do you want to do?” She was completely stunned by Shen Chengjing’s imposing manner. Due to the fact that she had done something wrong, she was feeling a little guilty.

“It’s nothing. I got some food for you today because I had an extra serving.” Shen Chengjing reached out and grabbed Zhou Qing’s arm, dragging her to the side and forcing her toward the sink.

“Don’t go too far, Shen Chengjing.” Zhou Qing struggled. She didn’t expect Shen Chengjing to be so strong. She tightly grasped her hand.

“Go too far? Aren’t you the one who has gone too far? We’ve always stayed out of each other’s way,” she gritted her teeth and said. “Don’t force me to take action, Zhou Qing.” An icy glint flashed across her cold black eyes.
